Dr. Nelson always had a desire to return to Guthrie County. He created Springbrook Family Dentistry to focus on matters most: you. He is passionate about providing quality dental care in a calm, comfortable, and clean environment. Dr. Nelson practices conservative dentistry that emphasizes prevention.This means he is honest and only recommends the treatment he would recommend for his own family.
Dr. Nelson and our team are continually learning about modern dentistry to exceed the standard of care. We only used the highest quality of materials and do not cut corners. In addition to being a skilled general dentist, Dr. Nelson is a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Nelson went on to attend The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinic and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. In dental school, his classmates elected him as Secretary of the Iowa American Student Dental Association (IASDA). Dr. Nelson is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry (IAGD) and Iowa Dental Association (IDA). He is currently the VP for Main Street Guthrie Center.
Ashley Miller is a Dental Hygienist with 12 years experience. Ashley has a unique background in multiple areas of healthcare including: public health, dental, medical, and chiropractic. She graduated from Earlham High School and has resided around the local area her entire life. Ashley received her AAS Degree in Dental Hygiene from DMACC in 2009, Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Upper Iowa University in 2014, and Masters of Public Administration from Drake University in 2016. Ashley currently enjoys working as a Dental Hygienist/Dental Assisting Adjunct Instructor at DMACC and a Clinical Dental Hygienist. Ashleys hobbies include: spending time with her husband, Charles and their 4 children and 2 dogs. She spends any extra time as a youth coach, running her children to multiple activities, and being active on her acreage.
Maddi was born and raised in Jamaica, Iowa, and graduated in the class of 2016 from Panorama High School. Maddi is one of our dental assistants and front desk genius. Her favorite part of her job is orthodontic adjustments and helping patients achieve their desired smile. In her free time, she's enjoys spending time with her husband and two golden doodles, Ozzie and Lucy and her nieces and nephews.
Dr. Daniel Nelson has an amazing team at Springbrook Family Dentistry! From my husband to our grandson they were great! They made us feel welcome and followed up with a call to make sure all was well the next day. This place is definitely a huge asset to Guthrie Center!

Unfortunately I went to springbrook family dentistry as a last hope. I went to stuart dental due to a tooth ache and they wanted me to wait a week after waiting the weekend so I decided to go to springbrook dentistry and was denied help. They went out of their way to call stuart even though we specified we did NOT want to go back to them and basically told us we're sh*t outta luck. Tone was awful and cruel towards me when I just want my tooth pain relieved. Cute dog, great receptionist, rude dentist. 0/5 star.

I had previously went to plaza dental in Des Moines for treatment for invisiline as well as regular cleanings. I had reached out to Dr.Nelson's office for continued care due to it being much closer and less of a drive. I called and he immediately scheduled me for a routine cleaning. The office was a very homie. The staff was very kind with explaining the forms I needed to fill out. They made casual conversation while I waited to be taken back to start the cleaning. The cleaning itself was painless, bleeding very little in my gums. They made sure they asked regularly if I was doing okay and if I needed anything. When Dr. Nelson came in he was very kind and professional. Spoke to me as a friend and not just a patient. I left smiling and feeling at ease. When I left I made sure I scheduled my children for a cleaning. He saw them within a week. Again when I took my children in he introduced himself and educated them on what they would be doing. He regularly asked if they were doing okay making sure he made them feel comfortable during their first experience at a dentist. Both children were finished within an hour making it quick and painless. They were excited to receive candy and a toy when they were all finished. I highly recommend Dr.Nelson he is very kind and professional. He informs you on what you need to have done and is very straight forward which is something I look for in a dentist. If he feels like he can't treat you he goes out of his way to make referrals so that you still can be seen and taken care of. The one thing I really like is his honestly and knowing that when I go to see him he will be truthful and honest about treatment. He's not a dentist that will sell you products you don't need. He also respects you and listens to you. The office dog Ollie is also a wonderful addition. Staff are wonderful. Very kind and humble. They make sure they go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful experience.

I was terrified of going to the dentist, but here!!! They walk you through it all, and try to make it as comfortable as possible. The team is truly great. I am grateful to have such a great dentist office local! -- bonus points because I love dogs and Ollie is great!

The staff was phenomenal. We had a previous experience that was poor, as the kids were a little anxious. From the time we walked in the door, everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and we were put at ease. I'm so thankful we were referred here.

Excellent Dentist and staff! No waiting. Dr. Nelson takes the time to do what he needs to do correctly. No jumping from one patient to the next. Young Dr. with old fashioned principles.

New state-of-the-art facilities, professional staff, simple and painless transition from my old dentist of 35+ years. COVID-19 protocols in place and followed by all staff members and patients during my appointment. Highly recommend.
