Dr. Lake Garner was born and raised in Magee, Mississippi, and attended Simpson Academy. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi and then attended dental school at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in Jackson, MS. Dr. Garner has practiced dentistry since 1996.
From a young age, Dr. Garner followed his entrepreneurial spirit. He chose dentistry as his profession because of his delight in working with his hands, his enjoyment of interacting with others, and the opportunity to practice as a businessman. Beginning with one small dental practice, Dr. Garner spearheaded the complete growth and expansion of Garner Dental Group into what is now 23 locations in several states.
Long-time residents of Hattiesburg, MS, Dr. Garner and his wife, Michelle have been married for over 20 years. They have three children, Gage, Landon, and Cannon. Gage is in real estate in the Hattiesburg area. Landon and her husband, Tyler, currently live in Jackson, as Landon is following her fathers footsteps and studying to become a dentist. Cannon is attending Louisiana State University.
The Garners are active in the Hattiesburg community, including supporting key charitable organizations such as the Pink Ribbon Fund and Hub City Humane Society. Dr. Garner and Michelle participated on the Emmy-winning CBS television show The Amazing Race and were one of the final teams. Dr. Garners reality show, The Tooth Hurts, is now in its third season and can be viewed on local channels as well as YouTube.
In his limited free time, Dr. Garner enjoys an active lifestyle including working out, playing golf, and time spent outdoors with his dogs. The Garner family is tight knit and can often be found traveling or attending sporting events together.

They usually do fantastic work on my teeth. They even do good with me because I hate needles. Today I went and they did 3 fillings I went home and my teeth started to hurt and when I looked in the mirror, I saw in one spot they forgot to fill a place and they got me on my gum. My only complaint is how they didn't double check to make sure they filled all the places they should.

I would like to give a BIG shout out to Gardner and Nichols Dental in Hattiesburg Ms. Dr Margert Nichols is my Dentist there, I have anxiety and TMJ she is so gentle with me, very caring. I Would not go anywhere else for my dental care!! And her are very professional and very caring also ..Thank you, for all you do for me. The best dental care I have ever experienced, Dr Nichols is the best! Professional, courteous, and friendly staff. I would highly recommend them to everyone. Sincerely Debra Irwin

10/10 experience, I really cannot recommend them enough. From clinical knowledge and patient care, to common kindness and compassion, all of there staff far exceed expectations. I am a current 3rd year medical student, so believe me when I say that everyone from the assistants to the dentists themselves are extremely clinically knowledgeable and know their craft down to a T. Also, as both the beginning and end of the customer experience, the front desk and administrative staff are both engaging and highly efficient, making for a swift and painless experience every time. Have to give a special shout-out to my hygienist Katie also! Have never had a more engaging or knowledgeable hygienist before in my life. From the cleaning itself, to the conversation, to the take home oral health instructions, just an absolute gem. My assistant Kalynn was also super friendly and on the ball, and even gave me some recommendations for my coming honeymoon. Dr. Nichols herself was a blessing in a white coat with my recent fillings as well, just an all around amazing office! Will definitely be coming back!!

I was very Happy/pleased with Garner and Nichols dental!! Everyone was so very nice and the new building is absolutely beautiful and welcomed me right in. I so LOVE LOVE Dr. Nichols!! And I will continue to be back

I was so impressed with Garner and Nichols Dental!! From the gorgeous facility to the very friendly and attentive employees, it is definitely top notch. Had a broke front tooth on my upper dentures, appointment and fixed the same day . Had new lower dentures made because of shoddy work from a previous Dental clinic, Wow perfect fit first try....Thank to Dr Nichols, Danial Jones and Staff HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Everyone was very sweet and caring. My ten year old had to get two teeth pulled and the whole time the dentist was pulling them his nurse was so caring and made sure that she was comfortable and not in any pain. They are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!
