She also is a member of and lifelong student at the Kois Center for Advanced Dental Study in Seattle, WA. She is a member of the Boston Dental Alliance, a small, esteemed group of dentists and specialists who meet to share ideas and review cases monthly. She has a passion for her career and is a third generation dentist in her family. Most of all she loves implant, cosmetic, computer, and sedation dentistry.
Dr. Maria was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent a year living in Sydney, Australia. She moved to Boston immediately after dental school as she loves all that New England has to offer. She has set up roots here with her two children. Dr. Maria enjoys sharing her gift with those less fortunate. She has been on five mission teams to provide free dental care to those around the world. With these groups, she has served in the Dominican Republic, Kenya, twice in Honduras, and Nicaragua. Her vow is to give back in this way every other year. She loves to cook, travel, and spend time with friends, family; some of whom live in Greece, New York, and Cleveland.

I'll start by saying, I rarely ever had a pleasant experience at the dentist. I had my first visit at Dr. Vasilakis' office and I think I found my dental office. The space is clean and inviting but not too clinical. The staff is welcoming and have great customer service. Prior to my visit, I was sent a detail and in depth questionnaire that helped facilitate a personalized visit for me.

Today was my first time going to this practice and I cannot say enough good things. I felt so welcomed and so at ease there. They are definitely a trauma-informed office. The amazing dental hygienist Callie asked me about my past negative experiences at the dentist and was so validating, kind, and warm. She also just asked me questions about myself and it the whole experience felt really personal. Dr Petrou was also amazing and he listened to me and my concerns, and took his time. At no point did I ever feel like the process was rushed, and it's clear that the employees there really enjoy working there. Reception was also awesome, and oriented me to the office the second I walked in, and helped me understand my payment and insurance. I hardly ever write reviews but this experience was just phenomenal. They are doing dentistry right.

Look no further. You've come to the right place. My family and I are so lucky we found this practice. Dr. Maria is skilled, intelligent and personable and Dr. Petrou is too. Wonderful hygenists (I go to Beata), great front desk staff and assistants.

I have dental anxiety from a string of bad visits elsewhere and they are so great with me here. They offer nitrous, have always been very clear with their billing/what my insurance covers, and are honest about whether or not you need work done. I still very much do not want to go to the dentist, but I've been going to Dr. Vasilakis' office on schedule for two years now because it is bearable. I think that's the highest praise someone with dental anxiety can offer.

Callie made my 3 year old daughter feel very comfortable and welcomed for her visit. Couldn't have gone more smoothly for a dental visit with my little one.

As always, and as crazy as it may sound to some, it is pleasure going to the dentist at Doctor Maria's. Beata did an excellent job especially since it has been 2+ years since my last cleaning. Met Dr. Peter for the first time and he fits nicely into the family. I loved how he showed me with imaging exactly what was happening with my cracked, thrice filled, currently decaying to the point of a visible hole, rear molar. It made the news of a new crown easier to absorb. Everyone in the office is genuinely friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

Everyone is great, from the moment you get in the door until you walk out. And the quality of care is exceptional. Everything is explained and discussed clearly. I am put at ease during my visit and trust Dr. Vasilakis and her staff implicitly.

I've been visiting Dr. Maria's office every six months for several years now. It's bright, clean and modern, and all of the staff are super friendly and professional - Dr. Maria herself, my tech Callie, and all the other support staff.

I had to sit and listen to graphic details about a local suicide and how "Wow, what a way to go! Some of us suffer in silence! You just never know!" Have you considered the person *in your chair* might be suffering? And that *they* DO NOT NEED OR WANT TO HEAR THIS! She then proceeded to pull the News story up on her phone and pushed that in front of my face to try to coax me into commenting on it. To which, all I had to say was "No offense, but can we talk about something else please?" To which Dr. Maria thankfully respected. Thank goodness for Joanne who kept me comforted and well stocked with tissues while I tried to keep myself together. Immediately moving my dental care to another practice. Edit: If she was such a close friend, you should have canceled your appts and taken a day of bereavement.

Dr. Maria is so informative and friendly, I always feel heard and part of the process! The rest of the staff are TREMENDOUS as well. Everyone is always positive and friendly and there to answer any questions you have.

I was nervous about making an appointment but knew I needed to because my last cleaning was more than 1.5 year ago, and this office had great reviews.... for good reason! Dr. Petrou and Betea were nothing but kind and informative. I've never felt so informed about my dental health! I needed to have some deeper cleaning done over two visits, and Betea was friendly and gentle (but thorough!) throughout the entire process. She also helped me adjust my flossing technique so I can keep my gums healthier going forward. The office is lovely and the staff is professional, and I especially appreciate the transparency and clear communication about costs. If you're looking at reviews trying to decide if you should make an appointment, make it here; you won't regret it.

It was a great pleasure to meet your "new" addition to the Vasalakis Super Heroes team, and delighted you were able to procure yet another Greek (Dr. Petreu ?...uncertain of spelling) to your present international staff of experts. He was most generous in kindness, and patient in explaining my dental circumstances, as has always been the case in Dr. Vasalakis's office. I believe I am scheduled to receive treatment from Dr. Maria's leading personal and professional inspiration, her Mom (I have to assume the senior female Dr. Vasalakis holds that honor and distinction, even while Dr. Maria's Dad must have been a worthy competitor in his identical professional category), and I look forward to that opportunity on Wednesday.

I had one of the best experiences at the dentist. Callie, the hygienist, used a periodontal probe to evaluate my gums and did a full cleaning. Dr. Maria took the time to examine my x-rays and fully explained any work I needed. She was able to catch a minor issue that two previous dentists had missed. Thanks!

I'm so happy I found this practice! The staff are all wonderful people and they've helped me immensely the last few months to help get me ready for my aligner journey. I loved meeting Dr. Maria's mother - Dr. Irene Vasilakis - who worked on several fillings for me. She is such a warm and friendly person who takes time to explain everything to her patients and walks them through every step of the process. She was kind enough to talk to me about the benefits of flossing (which I've always been bad at) and how much it can transform my dental hygiene and aligner journey. Since then I've been flossing regularly and I've noticed such a huge difference! Thank you, Irene!
