Zero communication on the upfront cost for a consultation. After this, I decided not to pursue any treatment from them. Lack of communication correlates to poor outcomes.

Great staff and great experience with Dr Gubler. I didn't feel pressured to go through with a procedure and didn't fee he tried to talk me into a procedure just for money. He answered all of my endless questions very patiently. Would recommend!

I have been with Dr Gubler for 4 years. My implant journey was extensive and took about a year from 1st visit to final implant. Every procedure was professional and personal. Dr Gubler and his staff were superior and I felt like family. I could almost call it fun!, maybe. I look forward to each visit and check up. Words cannot express my experience and the results of his work. I receive compliments all the time. I am Thankful for the experience and think if anyone reading this is thinking implants, contact Dr Gubler first! You will not be sorry. Oh and also he has the best SMILE!

Dr Gubler and his staff were fantastic. I was not looking forward to getting a gum graft. (Does anyone?) He informed me that the worst part would be the shots to numb the areas, and he was right. They worked quickly and carefully. The experience was as enjoyable as possible, with good conversation and an occasional line of Dr. Gubler singing. I was done in 30 minutes. Their aftercare instructions and medications were very helpful, but I was surprised to have very little pain. I took 600 mg of ibuprofen immediately before the procedure and haven't taken any more oral pain medication since. The local anesthetic powder on the retainer has been all I have needed. I appreciate that Dr. Gubler called me later that afternoon to check how I was doing and gave me his personal cell number in case I had any concerns. You'll be in good hands with Dr. Gubler.

Loved my experience with this office! They had my prescriptions at the office so I didn't have to stop at the pharmacy after my surgery. Procedure was quick and the post surgery instructions were great. Singing by Dr. Gubler during the procedure was a bonus! I would not hesitate to visit them again if the need were to arise. I highly recommend them!

I am disappointed in my experience here. The office space is too nice and expensive, indicating that their rates are unethically high. I expect the office to be clean with equipment in proper working order, but it doesn't need to look like a temple. Most of that money should be returned to the patients in lower rates, if they care about providing ethical and fair service. I was expecting to pay about $500 for a gum graft (based on my research of what the average cost should be) and was charged $1,400 instead! Yikes. That wiped out my HSA and now I can't afford any other medical care this year. Dr. Gubler also tried to upsell me on getting an implant (+$2,200) that I wasn't financially prepared to get, nor was I planning on it for that visit. I was sent to this office by referral from my holistic dentist so I assumed that Dr. Gubler would also be holistic, at least on a minimal level. I realize now that that isn't the case. The things that tipped me off were the lavish office, the high prices, and unnecessary medications. When I showed up for the surgery, they tried to give me ibuprofen when I had fasted for several hours before the surgery. It says right on every bottle of ibuprofen that it should not be taken on an empty stomach! I refused to take it. I was also never told ahead of time that I would be sedated for the surgery, just that I needed someone to drive me. I assumed that there would be a temporary anesthesia, but was surprised when I got there and they started talking about what was actually going to happen. I felt forced to get the prescriptions when I didn't want or need them. Normally, a doctor would call in a prescription to your chosen pharmacy or give you a paper prescription so you can choose to have it filled. This office partners with Fusion Pharmacy and has them deliver the prescriptions to the office so you are obligated to take them home even if you don't want them. I really didn't appreciate that. When the pharmacy called and asked me for my insurance information, I was confused because I live in Cedar City, not St. George, and I wanted to choose my pharmacy, but I also wanted to choose whether or not to fill the prescriptions. I asked the pharmacist if these medications are actually necessary and he told me that they probably weren't all necessary, but it was up to the doctor to decide (shouldn't it be up to me? It's my body and my money, after all!). Then I called Zion Oral Surgical "Arts" and was told that the prescriptions are "absolutely necessary." I was prescribed four medications: a powder to use as a "bandage" in my mouth, a questionable chemical mouthwash, ibuprofen, and amoxicillin. They were not "absolutely necessary." I used the powder and sort of used the mouthwash, just to keep the surgical site clean. I didn't touch the other prescriptions. A holistic perspective would be to avoid taking an antibiotic unnecessarily because it causes gut and other health problems. It should only be taken if there is an infection already present that can't otherwise be treated. There are better ways to prevent infection that won't cause other problems. I never took the amoxicillin and I never had an infection. I also never took the ibuprofen because it can also cause problems in the body. Instead, I used mindfulness and arnica montana ($7 over the counter) to manage the pain. The pain was minimal as a result of my efforts. I used red light therapy to stimulate the healing as well, and my mouth healed just fine. Holistic approaches get a bad reputation just because they are not lucrative and we don't have the funding for a lot of research compared mainstream medicine, but that doesn't mean they don't work. My experience and professional training (I'm also a licensed clinician) say otherwise. I understand that many doctors are just doing their best with the training they were given, but many of them don't seem to realize that what's lucrative isn't necessarily what's best or ethical. Dr. Gubler was friendly, but a bit naive or closed-off to other perspectives.

The ladies at the front desk are absolute dolls! They are so nice and friendly , which is so great because no one really wants to go get work done on their mouth, but the staff makes it an enjoyable experience. Dr. Metcalf is also the best. He is very gentle and considerate and tells things straight forward. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out and I was SHOCKED at how good I felt the next day. Swelling was minimal and my stitches are completely intact.

Dr. Metcalf is amazing. He took time to explain everything that would happen in our son's procedure. He made us all feel comfortable and was very reassuring to our nervous 12 year old. Everything went so well. We couldn't be happier about how everything went!

A place sooo good... It is worth teeth falling out of my head just to make a visit! On a serious note... Doctors so good the initial shot does not even hurt... Seriously thank you to the entire staff. Very professional and exceptionally clean... I mean the type of clean you don't even want to use the restroom because it is so spotless... Truly a big thank you!

unbelievable experience! I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the same time. I was in and out with 30 minutes and I felt absolutely no pain. They put me to sleep, I blinked twice it was done. I have been following my aftercare instructions with pain med and diet plan and have experienced no pain or complications. I was scared to death and now I feel like a big baby because it was nothing for me. No regrets here. Thank you Doctor, Superb job!

I was referred to Dr Metcalf for my unique situation. I was able to get into his office the same week for a consultation. Dr Metcalf was very personable, he was clear and candid about my situation. He was very patient and listened to all my concerns. I was open to the options he gave and it didn't stop there. Dr Metcalf really went out of his way to find more options that would work for me. He was very diligent and thorough before, during and after my surgery. I truly appreciate all he did. The front desk staff and assistants were great as well, very friendly and welcoming making you feel very comfortable.
