'Dr. Jim' Zimmerman, a graduate of the University of Toledo, completed his dental education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1976. He then completed one year of post-graduate dental education at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, NY. Upon finishing his residency, he opened a private dental practice in his hometown of Toledo, OH in July 1977.
Dr. Zimmerman is a member of the American Dental Association and the Ohio Dental Association, as well as a member and past-president of the Toledo Dental Society. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry as well as many other professional organizations, and has completed over 2,000 hours of continuing dental education; he truly believes that you are always a student. In 2014, Dr. Zimmerman was inducted into the American College of Dentists, an elite group of dentists from around the country. Dr. Zimmerman is happily married to his wife, Nancy, a dental hygienist, who is also an important part of the dental practice. The two of them have two wonderful children, a daughter, Mary, and a son, Jimmy, who is also pursuing a career in dentistry.
'Dr. Jimmy,' as he is affectionately known around the office, is a 2018 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry with Summa Cum Laude honors. He has really enjoyed meeting (and more often 're-meeting' from his childhood) our wonderful patients, and looks forward to being an integral part of their oral health. Dr. Jimmy is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Toledo Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Toledo Dental Society and as Vice President for the Ohio Academy of General Dentistry, and is active on several ODA subcouncils and workgroups. He has a passion for dental photography and is always ready to learn new dental techniques to deliver quality, painless dentistry. Additionally, Dr. Jimmy works one day every week at the Dental Center of Northwest Ohio, a non-profit safety-net clinic for Toledo 's most vulnerable dental population.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jimmy is an avid Ohio State fan, as he attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate career as well, and enjoys playing golf on the weekends. Dr. Jimmy is recently married to his wife, Erica, and is enjoying planning their future lives together!
Nancy Zimmerman is not only the wife of Dr. Zimmerman, but is also a registered dental hygienist. She graduated from college in 1980 and has worked with her husband ever since in many capacities. She may work with orthodontic patients, assist the doctor, clean patients ' teeth, or pay office bills. She is the proud mom of Dr. Jimmy, a dentist in our practice, and Mary, a children 's therapist in Columbus. Nancy really enjoys and promotes the family atmosphere in the dental office, adding, 'We have enjoyed getting to know many families in our practice, some of which include up to three generations of patients!'
Christine has been working with Dr. Zimmerman for several years now part-time, but has recently transitioned to our full-time hygienist! She really enjoys connecting with her hygiene patients and meeting the wonderful families we have here. Christine has four wonderful daughters and enjoys attending all of the fun and diverse events they are involved in with her husband, Kyle!
A graduate of Bowling Green University, Brittany is our well-qualified Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). Brittany has really enjoyed working in the dental field and even went back to school to increase her accreditation and expand her role here at the practice to include placing fillings and helping with in-office teeth whitening. Outside of the office, Brittany also enjoys hunting and watching the Detroit Red Wings dominate on the ice. She is happily married to her husband, John, and they recently celebrated the birth of their daughter, Ivy!
Sarah recently joined our team as a dental assistant, and we could not be happier to have her! Sarah has several years of experience in the dental field, and really enjoys working with patients. Outside of the office, Sarah is married to her husband, Shawn, and they enjoy spending time with their children, Nathan and Carly.
Sue is our business team member extraordinaire. She helps run our front office, and enjoys being the 'face' of the dental practice. Sue ensures our office runs smoothly and helps make sure we can help as many patients as possible. At home, Sue enjoys spending time with her husband, Mitch, and visiting their children, Matthew and Mackenzie as often as they can!

I was recommended this dentist from a friend after I had an emergency. I broke two of my front teeth, completely lost another, and had a tooth severely pushed back. I got in next day as a new patient and they are so unbelievably kind here!!! He moved my tooth back, made a molding of my teeth and had me a set of temporary teeth/retainer till I could get them permanently fixed by the next week. They work with you on payments and do amazing work. They make you feel right at home. Definitely have a new forever patient.

BEST DENTIST IVE EVER HAD!!! Dr.Zimmerman and Everyone at the Office is always SO HELPFUL and understanding I've had several procedures done by the man himself including my wisdom teeth pulled and a bridge and I NEVER feel a thing as far as pain and I am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY with my smile now after going to see Dr. Zimmerman! HANDS DOWN BEST DENTIST IVE EVER HAD ! Thank you so much and if your looking for a great dentist to take care of all your tooth needs ZIMMERMAN is the man to see!!!!!

Had a crown done by Dr. Zimmerman. He does very precise work and has a great way of explaining everything as he does his work. They were able to squeeze me in for a cleaning and wow, Christine does an excellent job, speedy and complete.

I recently got my wisdom teeth removed here and I had a great experience. They were very nice & friendly. I like how we did my pre meds before the actual surgery and they was very informative about how the process was going to take place before it took place & also schooled me on how to take care of myself moving forward after my surgery. I was very comfortable and confident my entire experience. Therefore, I would recommend anyone to go here for any dental work. Thank you.

One of the best dental experiences I've ever received. Had very poor dental care previously in life and as a result I've had a lot of anxiety and fear about going to the dentist. Dr. Zimmerman has totally transformed my smile and given me confidence to go back to the dentist. He made me feel really comfortable and there was no pain at all! I'm so very pleased with my teeth and I have recommended him to all of my family members and friends! This is the only dentist I will ever go to!
