First time visit at the office was disappointing. They scheduled me for Saturday and told me their would be a fee if I didn't show up or had to reschedule. Well after I get there ON TIME they let me know after 15 minutes the dentist was not there and they had to reschedule. They DID NOT give me no 24hr notice like they had requested from me. But okay after finally meeting Dr.Duran I was highly impressed by his skills. He gave me the most genuine advice on how to treat my son's condition. Dr Duran took his time to help me learn and understand everything in great detail and included health wellness information.

I had an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out, I had a consultation Monday that cost almost as much as an extraction & I had to wait five days till Friday (I told them I'm in pain, can't eat /drink) I have no choice but to wait then they call Friday a few hours before the appointment to tell me the dr. Cancelled ALL surgeries from Fri-Sun & they don't know when they can reschedule. From the first phone call I told them I have work on Tuesday this was my only window. How can they not have another Dr. on call for situations like this. This is a complete nightmare!!!! They promote emergency dental procedures but clearly NOT!! I spent $125 just to get X-rays & have someone stab my gums repeatedly without even telling me why. Now i doubt all recommended procedures given and will not be going back. Called to cancel my days old "insurance" with them & the receptionist was rude about it. EDIT: MONTHS LATER AND THEY WERE STILL CHARGING ME FOR THEIR MONTHLY INSURANCE I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY BANK For their business SINCE CALLING THEIR OFFICE REPEATEDLY AND TELLING THEM TO DELETE MY BILLING INFO AS CHARGES WERE FRAUD CONSIDERING I NEVER UTILIZED THEIR INSURANCE - BECAUSE I CANCELLED THE DAY THEY CANCELLED MY APPT, ridiculous. They charged me a few times before I noticed and they would have continued if I hadn't called my bank.

I went here with a Groupon for an exam, x-rays, and cleaning. At first I was impressed that they were able to give me an appointment the same day, but that's the extent of the positive. I ended up waiting nearly 1 hour after my appointment time to be seen. The first "stage" was Xrays and the person doing them used gloves but then proceeded to touch the computer mouse and other equipment with the gloves that were going to also handle the items that go in my mouth. I made it known that they were going to need new gloves and not to be touching other things. This seemed to be a struggle for them, which I do not understand at all in these days of COVID and just for a basic sense of hygiene. The Xrays took way too long and one time they even scratched the inside of my mouth with one of those plastic things, not quite cutting me but the tissue was tender and irritated. The prolonged X-ray time likely adds to everyone's waiting time all around. Then I had to go back out to the lobby and wait yet again to later go back to an exam room. The cleaning was then done by another assistant who was a bit more careful with the glove/touching other things issue but I was not satisfied with the amount of time spent polishing the teeth with the gritty paste and then they flossed my teeth way too fast like an afterthought. Not to mention with cheap floss that gets all stringy. They could've just had me do it instead. After this more waiting and I could overhear the dentist speaking to another patient and could hear the dentist explaining all that was recommended to that patient and some back and forth. So privacy is an issue there but then...the dentist examined me and barely even spoke to me. I was only asked if there was any pain, which I did not have. I never have cavities (just one old filling from my youth) and just wanted my teeth cleaned, so then he was recommending more fillings and who knows exactly what else for two other teeth. I say "Who knows?" because he didn't even talk to me directly and instead spoke to the assistant with their dental lingo. I'm over 40 yrs old and felt like a child who had no say. Rather than ask questions, I just knew I wouldn't go back. I wondered if all this was happening due to sexism since the other patient sounded male and the dentist is male. Then I had to wait to leave for a long while (even though I had paid in advance w/groupon) and I later realized it was because they were trying to schedule me for the recommended treatments without even discussing with me whether I wanted them or not. And when doing so, the receptionist said something about not being able to do everything in one visit. The recommended treatments were not intense things and clearly could all be done in one day at any other dental office, so this made think it was their way of getting to bill more. Regardless, I wasn't going back and refused to make another appointment and I told them that I'd never had any such suggestions in the past so I'd rather get a second opinion anyhow. It seemed like the dentist was just finding anything else that they could charge me for. I highly recommend finding another place.

My son had work done on three teeth and Dr. Duran was wonderful! He made sure my son was comfortable and explained what he was doing. And when my son had a question or concern, Dr. Duran took the time to further explain things to my son. Both me and my son have been patients of Zen Dental for a few years, And I highly recommend!
