Dr. Zell completed her three-year orthodontic residency with a masters degree from one of the most prestigious orthodontic programs in the country, the University of North Carolina. While at UNC she received the Freedland Advanced Dental Education Fellowship and was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics for research with Dr. William Proffit, the father of modern orthodontics.

Prior to attending UNC, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University, where she was a representative for the American Student Dental Association, President of the C. Edmund Kells Honorary Society, and received the Deans Award. She holds degrees from Purdue University in Chemical Engineering and DePauw University in Liberal Arts, graduating summa cum laude.

Dr. Zell is passionate about her work and truly enjoys her patients, which is evident through her friendly, personable style. She volunteers her time to serve on the Jacksonville Cleft and Craniofacial Team and is a member of multiple professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Northeast Florida. Dr. Zell and her husband, John, reside in the Riverside/Avondale area of Jacksonville with their English Mastiff Abby.
