I love being an orthodontist and the impact I can make in patients lives, both physically and emotionally, through the orthodontic process. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to provide this service to my patients. The excitement and enthusiasm my patients show when their beautiful new smile is completed fuels me to work hard so all my patients can achieve that outcome.
I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, just outside of Chicago. I went to college at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (Go Deacs!), where I received a Bachelor of Science in biology and was a proud member of the Alpha Nu chapter of Sigma Pi fraternity.
After graduating from college, I returned to Indiana to pursue my dream of becoming an orthodontist. I spent four years at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
After earning my DDS, I had the great pleasure of working as a general dentist in Lafayette, Indiana. I greatly enjoyed working in a private practice and treating a great group of patients, but I still had a passion for the practice of orthodontics, so I decided to go back to school.
I completed my graduate orthodontic residency at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. I received a Master of Science, as well as a certificate in orthodontics and dentofacialorthopedics. My manuscript from my research was accepted for publication at the Angle Orthodontist Journal in August 2009.
Since completing my formal education, I have attended the annual regional Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists meetings and the national American Association of Orthodontists meetings, as well as my local Frederick Country Dental Society meetings that take place every month. Staying involved with my peers keeps me up to date on new technology and evolving scientific evidence so I can provide the most efficient and technologically advanced treatment available to patients. In addition to the AAO, MASO, and FCDS, I am also a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association.
While at Wake Forest, I met my beautiful wife, Shey. She grew up in Frederick County and was a part of the first graduating class at Urbana High School (Go Hawks!). We have a six yearold son named Heath and a four year old daughter named Siena who fill our lives with laughter, joy, and relentless energy! Of course, I cant forget our three cats, Mellow, Max and Lolli!
My family and I currently live in Ijamsville, Maryland. I love living in Frederick County; the small-town atmosphere in the community really makes me feel at home. I love my family more than anything and cherish the time we spend together. I enjoy all sports, including basketball, tennis, skiing, and scuba diving, but golf is by far my favorite. I also take the opportunity to travel with my family and friends whenever possible.

I am the treatment coordinator at Detterline Orthodontics. I have worked in the orthodontic field since 1997 and really enjoy making our patients feel comfortable in our office. My primary responsibilities include coordinating each patients orthodontic treatment, from getting started to arranging financial agreements and corresponding with their general dentist to keep everyone in the loop before, during, and after treatment.
I am a native of Maryland and attended Walkersville High School. I now live in Baltimore City on the harbor and really enjoy the city life! In my spare time I enjoy traveling and playing tennis. I look forward to meeting you!
Hi! I am one of the orthodontic assistants that help Dr. Detterline. I have been assisting in Dentistry since 2011. I am certified in Radiology, expanded functions for General Dentistry and Orthodontics. Though the field of dentistry is so diverse, I love orthodontics the most. I enjoy working with children and getting to know them.
I grew up in Poolesville and moved to Frederick in 1998. I have two children and while I 'm not in the office I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have two dogs (Daisy and Gunner) and a cat named 'B'. My family and I enjoy hunting together and I love planting and growing a beautiful vegetable garden each year.
I have been an orthodontic tech for Detterline Orthodontics since 1997 and have been working in the field since 1983.I love meeting new people, making new friends, and giving our patientsconfidence with their new beautiful smiles. I also enjoy working with a team that is professional and passionate about orthodontics, and who also like to have a little fun!
I am one of the orthodontic technicians who help Dr. Detterline provide exemplary orthodontic treatment for our patients. I am qualified in orthodontic expanded functions and am certified in radiology. In addition to my responsibilities as a clinical assistant, I am also in charge of ordering the many different orthodontic supplies and maintaining the inventory schedule. Dr. Zainali built a comprehensive approach to my bite issues, including referring me to a fantastic orthagnatic surgeon. I'm very happy with my smile and am able to bite much better with the corrections that Dr. Zainali made.

I started my several year journey with braces to correct a severe overbite when I was 10 years old. I had to keep retainers to wear at night to keep my teeth straight. Now, as an adult, I wanted a new pair of retainers so I went back to Dr Zainali. I was so impressed with the fact that they remembered me, and quickly got me a new pair of retainers to wear. I would highly recommend their offer for any of your orthodontics needs. They are friendly and reasonable!

I needed to get braces for the second time in my life and was apprehensive to say the least. I was not excited about the possibility of repeating my teenage experiences from the 1970's. Dr. Zainali's office worked with me step-by-step from insurance and financing through scheduling and almost two years of treatment and everyone was incredible throughout the process. My teeth haven't looked this good in years, and that's a testament to Dr. Zainali and her staff's professionalism.

I received my second round of braces here as an adult and I'm extremely happy with the results. Dr. Zainali has great attention to detail which results in nothing less than perfection. The team here finished what my 1st orthodontist didn't and more. Removing and replacing each individual bracket multiple times as needed to achieve perfect results. I also required double jaw surgery and they worked closely with the surgeon to prep me for the procedure. Dr. Zainali's experience with this made me comfortable and confident throughout the entire treatment. Nothing but good things to say. I love Dr. Zainali and her team!

Everything about Zainali Orthodontics is amazing from the staff to the service I received. They were always nothing but kind and helpful to me, whether it was a broken bracket or just some extra bands to help with the treatment. "What?! I need braces?," I asked my dentist. I'm 60 years old and my teeth are already straight!" Apparently, orthodontic issues occur at all stages of life, and mine were the result of years of grinding. Loose and cracked teeth...and a misaligned bite were the result. Fortunately for me, my dentist referred me to Dr. Zainali and all of my fears and trepidation were quickly laid to rest. She conducted a thorough examination, explained my options and the pricing for each, and recommended Invisalign for treatment. I'm in Tray 9 of 14 right now and my jaw and bite feel so much more comfortable! I had no idea how uncomfortable I was until the problem was on its way to being corrected. Dr. Zainali has been kind, caring, and compassionate throughout the process. She is diligent and dedicated to her patients' care and a talented orthodontist.
