Dr. Lester excelled while attending dental school and graduated with the highest honors. Dr. Lester received Dental Benefits Scholarships for both excellent academic and clinical performance, was selected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and received The Deans Award for academic and clinical excellence while attending Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Being a private family practitioner was always his goal and he is honored to have had the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Robert E. Heacox (now retired after 45 years of practicing dentistry) for many years.
Dr. Lester has a passion for dentistry, as well as a passion for caring. In order to ensure the best dentistry for his patients, Dr. Lester invests in a great amount of continuing education. He is constantly learning new techniques and researching technological advancements in the field of dentistry so he can better treat his patients. Dr. Lester is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Pierce County Dental Society and Spear Education.
Dr. Lester has a special interest in reaching out to people that lack access to dental care and educating the public on the importance of oral health. He has participated in the Guatemala Awareness Program (GAP) whose mission is to provide dental care to the Guatemalan people. As a member of the Gig Harbor Rotary Club, Dr. Lester is able to support world-wide healthcare initiatives as well as local community programs. Dr. Lester volunteers with the Medical Teams International program which organizes a mobile dental van serving people on the Key Peninsula.
Coming from two families of business owners in Gig Harbor (Finholm and Lester), Dr. Lester is excited for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to his family over the years. He is an avid golfer and spends many hours swinging clubs with his friends and kids at the Gig Harbor Golf Club. You might also catch him on the slopes snowboarding, on the basketball court for a pick-up game or coaching the many sports his kids are involved in. He and his wife Amy began dating their freshman year at Gig Harbor High School and both attended Western Washington University together. They reside in Gig Harbor with their three children.

I always get a very detailed, precise, and gentle dental cleaning from their amazing dental hygienist and Dr. Lester did an outstanding job beautifully fixing a cosmetic chip on my front tooth . I'm happy to have found this fantastic dental practice after looking for awhile. Excellence in every way .

The lady in the front office is very rude and lacks compassion. I can't speak to the competence of the dentist himself, because I did not make it that far. He may want to consider giving the lady who answers the phone some lessons in how to speak to potential customers. I am new to the area and have had a few bad experiences with dentists. I am someone who has stayed with dentists for years and years. Trying to find a dentist here that has that same competence has been challenging. I had two fillings done a couple of months ago and cannot chew on one side and the filling on the other is chipped already. I have gone to a couple of other dentists to get opinions on these fillings, but ultimately, I did not feel comfortable with them. I have ongoing severe vertigo, and this gives me extreme anxiety when going to the dentist. So, I have to have a dentist who I can feel comfortable going to. The lady at this office questioned why I had seen other dentists as though this was an unusual occurrence. If a healthcare provider questions you for getting a second opinion or makes you feel bad about it.....run. It's not as if I was going to be coming there for free. I will be taking my family to an office that knows how to speak with kindness.

Dr. Lester and his staff are outstanding. They've seen my entire family for the past 4 years and do a great job. I have a son with special needs and they are patient and understanding when working with him. Overall, the best dental experiences I've had. I highly recommend them!
