Following dental school, Dr. Higgins completed a hospital General Practice Residency in New York, after which he was then accepted into the anesthesiology residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, 1980-82. Since completion of his anesthesia training, Dr. Higgins has practiced dental anesthesiology, providing office based anesthesia care throughout the Northern Illinois area.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Higgins is a long-standing faculty member with the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Illinois Hospital Medical Center, and holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of Anesthesiology within that department and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Dr. Higgins is a regional and national lecturer and is published in the area of Anesthesiology of Dentistry.
In addition, Dr. Higgins is proud to have represented the profession as President of the Illinois Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists. Dr. Higgins is a Fellow of both the American and the International College of Dentists. He is board certified with the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and the National Board of Anesthesiology. He is a fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Higgins is a native of the Chicago area and resides in Palatine with his wife, Mary, and their three children- Ryan, Lindsay and Mitchell. He enjoys spending time with his family as well as boating, fishing, and gardening when he can find the time!

I've never been happier with a children's dental office before. The entire staff is extremely helpful and kind. Dr Namie Kong is the best children's dentist I have ever met.

Did you know that Dr Yum doesn't own the practice? This makes me trust them so much more! I just found out it was bought by dentists who put patient care on the forefront about 2 years ago. I find Dr Nami to give appropriate advice based on her expertise unlike the previous ownership who recommended X-rays to my 18 month old. We did have miscommunication as the receptionist thought she could change my mind about medical plan of care, but hopefully they will resolve this issue in communication style after what happened and simply listen to the patient.

Bad experience!!! Receptionist was rude, doctor didnt know how to play with kids, it was too stressful for my son, they kept cleaning even when he was screaming.

Dr. Namie and team are the best! My son had his first dental appointment last week and they took such good care of him! I was a bit nervous on how he would react but they made the entire process very easy and comfortable for him!

This place is amazing. From start to finish. They made my 3 year old so comfortable. Explained everything they would be doing and were so kind and gentle. He was a little nervous and crying when we got there, but by the end of the appointment he walked out with a balloon and a huge smile. Thank you to everyone at Yummy Dental for making our experience so wonderful.

We were very impressed with the team! I walked in asked about my insurance and they were able to confirm their acceptance on the spot quickly with dates available within the week! A Saturday no less, we were floored. Then when we arrived they had iPads to sooth the kids while on the chair. My 2 yr was happy and calm. She loved she could see her favorite show and we loved she had that comfort available during this new experience. My 3yr old was very scared. iPad did not work. They offered a pop it toy to help with the anxiety. Then offered for the cleaning to use a regular toothbrush to make it less daunting, finally what sealed the deal was the Dr letting him brush on his own, and asking him if she could guide him along the way. Everyone introduced themselves and were warm and welcoming. We left with smiling kids with little prize and balloons... from the DENTIST!

Trips to the dentist with toddlers can be a harrowing experience, especially with twins. Dr. Namie and her fantastic staff make it as painfree as possible and we are always so happy after each visit. We have never had to wait to be seen and our kids love the experience they have there, from the warm and kid-attentive decor to Dr. Namie thoughtfully explaining each step and describing the equipment used so they're not scared. We highly recommend Yummy Dental!!

This was the worst dental experience, I would give 0 stars is that would be possible. I went there today for the first time, with my daughter. She is 9 and had some pain caused by a cavity. They told me the tooth needs to be extracted( something that now I really question) and 10 min later, they finished everything: the anesthesia and the extraction in the most traumatic and painful way for my child. First they asked me to leave the room saying that is their policy and I did. After I got out I noticed that in another office there was a mom that was allowed to stay with her child. 5 min after I got out I heard my daughter crying and I went at the door( which was open by the way, no respect for privacy) and I saw the nurse holding my daughter while she was crying and screaming that it hurts. The doctor kept on pulling the tooth out with no regard that the patient was in pain let alone that the patient is a child What happened was that they did not wait for the numbness to kick in, they were in an awful hurry so they pulled the tooth out without any consideration. When my daughter got off the dentist chair her eyes were red, her face was red and she was crying and shaking. She actually cried for 1 hour straight. She hasn't cried that much since she was a baby. STAY AWAY from this joke of pediatric dentist office!

Very genuine, patient doctor. No child likes to go to the dentist but Dr. Namie is the best. You can tell she loves her job and the kids. I am so glad we were referred to her. Thank you.
