Here at Yucaipa Family Dental, we provide comprehensive dental care for the whole family. Our doctor and staff strive to treat every patient with the highest quality of care. We see same day emergency patients and offer a wide range of dental treatments including crowns, bridges, fillings, dentures, partials, braces, cleanings, extractions, root canals, etc. We also provide mini implants to support ill fitting dentures. We see patients of all ages from infants to 100+ years of age, and we can assist you in English, Spanish, and Korean.
Dr. Richard Lim was born in Staten Island, NY, raised in Carmel, IN, and resides in Loma Linda, CA. He has been interested in dentistry since he was a young child. He has collectively worked in the field of dentistry for over 15 years: from working in the lab, to working as an assistant for various doctors, to working as a providing dentist. After practicing in Temecula for a few years, Dr. Lim purchased the practice of Dr. Marvin Ota in 2016. He graduated from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Religion, Cum Laude. He also holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He stays up to date with the latest technological advances in dentistry by taking many continuing education hours of instruction.
Dr. Lim was the recipient of the Christ Like Service Award in Dentistry. He has served and mentored students on multiple mission trips to Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, the Philippines, and Haiti and he continues serving overseas on an annual basis. Dr. Lim is an active musician and is often found conducting and singing with various choirs and is a vocal soloist in churches and weddings throughout the Inland Empire. He was recently in the Redlands Bowls production of Beauty and the Beast. He enjoys playing tennis, basketball, and roots for his hometown Colts and Pacers. His brother is also a dentist who practices in Riverside. Dr. Lim looks forward to meeting you and is excited to help you achieve your signature smile.
Dr. Kelly Lim attended Canadian University College, now called Burman University in Alberta, Canada for her undergrad and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. She has served the Inland Empire for nearly a decade.
As a dentist, it is important for her to make her patients feel as comfortable as possible when they are at the dental chair. She recognizes that unfortunately many patients have dental anxiety. It could be from past experiences, uncomfortable noises rumbling in the head, local anesthesia, feeling a loss of control, no clear explanation, or just because it looks scary. She likes to take her time to get to know her patients so that those anxieties could be eased. She says one of the best parts of her job is seeing her patients smile brighter with confidence and the look of satisfaction after treatment. She also believes it is important to serve the community. She currently serves in the United States Army Reserve and has served on multiple mission trips including Mexico, Philippines, and Haiti.
In her downtime, she like to go for a jog, hike, and walk with her husband and her fur baby, Poodle-Bichon-Terrier mix, Fluffy. She loves the nice ocean breezes from Californias sunny beaches, exploring new places, and trying out authentic food from different cultures. It is one of her life goals to grow old and be able to play the piano comfortably without music and change keys and cords freely.

Military friendly. Knowledgeable and courteous staff. Good service and a pleasant visit. Very appreciative of the staff's efforts to get me squared away.

so second appointment for my daughter (the first went fine she had a cavity filled and was able to sit through it with numbing) and we sit dr. lim comes over and numbs her and then decides she needs x-rays and goes to work on another person. She gets the x-rays probably 30/40 mins and was just laying watching a show on my phone waiting. He comes back and is planning on doing 3 fillings. He drills the first and by the second tooth shes trembling from the pain. He and his assistant told her if she feels anything to raise her left hand. She had her hand raised and he didn't stop she even moved it up more trying to get him to see. this happened twice. Understandably she didn't want him to work on the third tooth. He lost her trust by not listening to her when she was in pain even telling her shes numb when she said she could feel it. He almost sent us home with the tooth drilled unfilled and exposed. I cant imagine how upset an adult would be to sit through a tooth being drilled into the nerves not numbed and you'd think it being a child you'd be extra thoughtful about not having them be in pain unnecessarily. This isn't a place for kids. UPDATE: To reply to Dr. Lim It was a second opinion I don't know where he thought I went to several. There was no calming her down before hand he was drilling the second tooth when she started trembling in pain and raised her left had to show she was in pain because he had worked on someone and gave her xrays after doing the anesthesia then like he said was 30 minutes into drilling so an hour or more had passed and the numbing had worn off. But I'm being gaslit because he knows its malpractice. The first visit he said she did better than most adults because it wasn't anything to do with her but reckless uncaring work.

The dental work was good, but the dentist needs to be more patient and empathetic towards people with anxiety of dental work. Him being inpatient and patronizing to a patient already anxious about the situation only made it worse.

Everyone here is always kind and professional. I appreciate their honesty. Even more, I appreciate them informing me on my options and then letting me choose what works for me without feeling pressured. I've been to other dentists, but would only recommend this place! They do great work.

The staff was very sweet and welcoming excellent customer service. Dr. Lim was very kind and calming took his time with myself and my children will definitely be continuing dental care with him.

I have been following Dr. Lim for a while since he was in Temecula, CA. He has been doing most of my dental work including implant crown, which is holding strong. I appreciate his thoroughness and professionalism. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a good dentist.

Typically I don't write reviews but i feel like I have to for this office. Myself and my family have been coming to this office for the past 1 1/2 year and every time it just got worst. Dr Lim is disrespectful to his patients and employees.. I have been a witness to see his horrible behavior! it makes me sick to even write this and think back on how terrible he was to my family and I! Not to mention he can't even keep his staff for more than a year they have all left that office! I do not recommend anyone to visit this office! Save your money and your time!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr.Lim, his wife and staff. I've been going to this office since the beginning of 2020. I had severe teeth damage from pregnancy and having braces. Dr. Lim has not only made sure that my teeth are fixed and won't let me leave the office until the job is done correctly BUT also makes sure that he fits me into his busy schedule when I have a dental emergency.

I highly recommend Dr. Lim and his staff. I appreciate their professionalism. I chipped my front tooth a few months ago and I was so embarrassed to go about my day. He was able to get me in fairly quickly and my tooth was made as good as new. Even though I'm a grinder and I often (more than I should) forget to use my night guard, it is still there strong. Thank you!

Dr. Kim has been my dentist for years in Riverside. I've got my bridge done with her & other dental work as well. When I found out she was moving to Yucaipa, it was a no-brainer to decide to follow her. She is compassionate, gentle and thorough. The staff at the office are friendly and knowledgable.
