I started working at YSO as a high school co-op student and I never left. The interaction with our patients and the family-like atmosphere with our team is unmatched. I consider it an honor to work here. When Im not at work, Im most likely traveling and spending time with my family.

I started my dental career at the Career Prep Center in 1994. I love the hands-on aspect of orthodontics. In my free time, I am a reiki master and I enjoy crafting, making jewelry and collecting crystals.

I was born in Iraq and moved to the U.S. in 2012. I have been at YSO for almost 2 years and I couldnt be happier. Treating patients and helping to perfect their smiles is my passion. When Im not at work, Im usually spending time with family, friends and my dog, Bruno.

Ive been at YSO for over 30 years. Interacting with our patients and watching the change in their smile is what keeps me going. Our office is like one big family, so coming to work every day is truly a joy. When Im not at work, Im either traveling the world, hanging out with family and friends or riding on the Harley.

I have been with Your Smile Orthodontics since 1989 and loved every day of it. Working with this very family-oriented staff makes each day so fun. This staff truly cares about each patient as an individual and treats them as such. When not working, I enjoy traveling with my family, especially trips to Charlotte, North Carolina to spend time with my new grandson!

Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment. Watch the video below on the proper care of braces during orthodontic treatment.

What can you eat? Lets talk about what you shouldnt eat! For the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite a cucumber again. But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.

When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.

To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time so please follow instructions.
