Dr. Scott Baur is a graduate of Harvard University, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Genetics. He then attended the University of Florida for his Endodontic training and graduated in 2007. Dr. Baur practiced for over 8 years as an Endodontist in the Tampa and Spring Hill areas before moving to Southwest Florida. Dr. Baur is Board Certified by the American Board of Endodontics.
Immediately after graduating from his residency program at the University of Florida in 2007, Dr. Baur joined his mentor, Dr. Garland Forbes, atForbes Endodontics as an associate and worked in offices located in Dunedin, New Port Richey and Spring Hill. Dr. Baur purchased the Spring Hill office from Dr. Forbes in 2010 and shortly thereafter brought on a second endodontist, Dr. Heydrich, as a partner. After successfully growing the practice together, Dr. Baur sold his share of the practice to Dr. Heydrichin 2016 and relocated to the Bonita Springs area and established Your Endodontic Specialist.
Dr. Baur has served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Endodontics at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and is amember of theAmerican Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and West Coast District Dental Association. Dr. Baur has also served as President of the Hernando County Dental Association.
Dr. Baur is originally from Northern Utah where he attended Weber State University for his undergraduate degree. Dr. Baur has lived in Utah, Ohio, Massachusetts and now Florida. Outside of the office, Scott enjoys fishing, camping, boating and just being outdoors with his wife, 2 children and 2 boxers.

Dr. Baur deserves the 5 stars! He made my root canal procedure so smooth and put me at ease. He described what was happening and made me feel comfortable. The office called to follow-up after the procedure, which was wonderful.

Best root canal ever! Strange to say but true.. I felt no pain at all.. barely even the pinch from the needle. Staff was so great and friendly, Dr. Baur is awesome, explanative, and gentle. Office is clean, technology new.. an all around 100% positive experience.

Really great endodontist. I needed a root canal retreatment and Dr. Baur had such good chairside manner, clearly explaining to me what was going on. He didn't force me into anything but rather have me options. Got it done and tooth feels great, the staff and front desk are very nice and pleasant. I highly recommend them!

Arlette was so nice and made me feel comfortable I got to choose what kind of music to listen to while getting a root canal. Dr.Brauer explained step by of what was going on which also made me more comfortable. This is the first time getting anything done. Currently I am in no pain I had no pain during the procedure. The anesthetic helped a lot. I feel like Dr. Brauer loves what he does and it's great that he explains what's going on.

Dr Baur is literally the best dentist I've had in my 62 years of life. He is so highly skilled, I don't even feel the needle going into my gums. He has great equipment and his assistant was fantastic. I forgot the dental hygienist name but she was blonde and very skilled as well. His whole staff was friendly! They explained everything before they actually do it and also explain while they're doing it. I fully recommend his office to anyone in dental work.

I was referred to Dr Bauer for a root canal. I was able to see him the next day and had the painless, procedure two days later! The office technology and professionalism of the entire staff was unbelievable. Thank you to the entire team.

I was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr. Baur by my general dentist for a root canal. Staff was super friendly and accommodating, wait time was non-existent, office was spotless without feeling sterile, technology and clinical expertise was top notch, and the other office amenities made for a very comfortable, quick visit.

Most people hear the word 'Root Canal' and instantly think, Oh NO not me I don't think so! Well, long story short two weeks later and I realized I could do it now, or wait and need one down the road through my new Bridge, which is scheduled to placed on Monday! Seriously it's no worse than having a filling, maybe just a little more involved, but at least I have my tooth! The staff and Dr. Baur are an awesome team I could not ask have asked for better! Thank you!

If you want a patient focused professional experience this is the place. I had a pre conception of the root canal. Deanna and Dr Baur smashed that perception. I felt nothing and they played my favorite music from Pandora to keep me relaxed. They are great communicators no normenclature that keeps you guessing just a very clear what happens next. Thank you.
