I grew up in London, KY home of the World Chicken Festival! My husband Adam, my daughter Amelia, my son Jameson, and I have recently moved to Northern Kentucky from Lexington; we are loving exploring a new area, going to Reds games, playing at Silverlake, swimming, and playing golf so far! My family has a 14-year-old dachshund named Frankie. We love going to the Cincinnati Zoo and feeding the giraffes. And we are huge fans of the famous Fiona the hippo!
While new to the community, I am not new to dentistry. I graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2009. I practiced general dentistry for two years with my father in his practice in London, KY. It was during that time that I realized my love for working with children. I was so grateful for the opportunity to complete my residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Kentucky in 2013 and treated children in Lexington, KY for 6 years.
We are so grateful for the incredible staff at Young Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. Each member of our team is focused on one goal: Caring for the children we serve. This group of dedicated professionals LOVES working with children!
Maggi grew up just down the road in Alexandria. When shes not cuddling her chocolate lab Gus, she loves going with her fianc to grab tacos at Montoyas in Fort Mitchell and then heading to the AMC Newport on the Levee to catch a Disney movie. Maggi says that if she had one superpower it would be to fly, but we believe that she already has an out-of-this-world ability to make children smile.
Denises life is all about kids. Not only does she love working with our patients, but she also gets plenty of practice spending time with her five grandchildrenand an active labradoodle name Bowie. Denise is from Florence and enjoys spending her time reading and shopping. She says her dream superpower would be to eat anything she wants and never gain a pound, but we think Denise is doing just fine!
Erinhas been married for nearly 10 years. She has a daughter that is affectionately called Boo Bear. When shes not at work chatting it up with all the patients, Erin stays very active. She has been teaching dance for over 15 years, runs in several 5ks each year, spends time on the Loveland bike trails, and enjoys visiting the Newport Aquarium and the Cincinnati Zoo.
Jennais loved by our kids! She grew up in Independence. She enjoys reading, camping at AJ Jolly, visiting the Newport Aquarium, and cuddling with her dog Hank. One of Jenas favorite cartoons is the PowerPuff girls. She says her choice of a superpower would be invisibility, but were very happy we get to see Jena every day!
Caitlyngrew up in Burlington and has a fantastic time introducing children to dentistry. Her favorite movie of all time is The Notebook. Caitlyn stays active and loves shopping, boating, fishing, reading, and visiting the Cincinnati Zoo with her family. She has a sweet dog named Keylo who loves going for walks. Caitlyn said that one of her favorite things about working at Young Smiles is the warm, uplifting environment.
Allisonenjoys her time with family and friends. You might find them out boating at Dave Hallow or Cumberland or they may be gathered in the living room watching one of her favorite movies like Halloween or The Notebook. She says a couple of her favorite things about work is the environment and the patients she gets to work with every day.
Tammyloves everything about working at Young Smiles the patients, her co-workers, and Dr. Alex. She grew up in Hebron. Tammy has two children, three dogs and enjoys staying active. When she isnt spending her weekends kayaking or boating, she takes her nieces to the Florence Pool every opportunity she gets. Growing up, Tammy loved watching Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck cartoons, which may be part of the reason shes so fun today!

We love Dr. Alex and her staff at Young Smiles Dentistry! Everyone in the office is so kind and attentive. We always feel valued and most importantly, my daughters love going to their appointments! I would highly recommend this office to anyone!

I have so much to say but not enough space to say it. The woman at the front desk that checks people in is extremely rude. Always has been as long as my 7 year old daughter has been coming there. It's not just a one time thing.... It's Every-time. From the phone call, to the checking in when you get there. After today we will never be back there. If this was my company there is NO WAY this woman would be the face of it. And I am 1000% sure this ain't the first time it's been mentioned. It ain't just a one time thing so I'm sure many many other family's feel how rude this woman is. My daughter and I love the dentist and dental assistants in the back. I've pushed off the disrespect and rudeness because we love the people in the back. I can not brush it off no more. We will not be back. Young Smiles please do better to make your patients feel wanted and welcomed. This lady is not the one to do it. Thank you for your services over the years, it's truly appreciated, if anyone has questions because I am limited on space here. Please feel free to call me ANYTIME!

Called to return to the office as a patient when we saw Dr. Salmon was now here but the receptionist refused to schedule my children because we missed our appointments in 2017... Today is 8/29/2022. Yes you read that correctly... we missed our appointment 5 years ago... lol. What a joke... I guess it is better to find out who you are dealing with in advance and there is certainly not a shortage of other options nearby.

Quoted me wrong, made us wait 5 months to get dental work even though my child was in pain, only got us in to pull the tooth after it got an infection. And on the day of the appointment we had to wait 2 1/2 hours past her appointment before they took her back. Office staff was always extremely rude and unhelpful as well.

I can not say enough great things about this place! My 4 year old had to be put to sleep for some work to be done, I was an emotional mess, and everyone of the staff members were so caring. They took the time to explain everything to me and answer any questions I had. They have an outside team that comes in to do the anesthesia (smile md) they were also amazing! They gave me updates throughout the process and reassured me she was doing great. Dr. Guthrie and his smile md team are amazing as well as Tammy who was so caring! Dr. Katie did the procedure and she was also amazing. I am so thankful for everyone there! Definitely recommend!!

Dr. Young and the whole staff did a fantastic job of making my daughter feel comfortable for her first dentist visit! She was nervous when we first got there, but by the end of the appointment she didn't want to leave. She felt extra special with her name on the wall as a new patient. We chose this office based on the many positive reviews and we can see why so many love them!

Everyone was friendly and fantastic! Dr Young and Jena are great with both my kids (ages 7 and 3). Very patient and interacted with them as well as me. We love them! I definitely recommend this practice! We go every 6 months and they are still friendly, helpful and awesome!

I cannot say enough how amazing Dr. Alex was! She was not only patient, but she was kind and caring to my 3 kiddos. The entire staff was great! My daughter (7) had a very traumatic experience at another office, and I couldn't believe how much she talked about Dr. Alex after we left and excited to return. SO happy we made the switch!

My daughter had her visit today and I am blown away! Everyone there was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The office was clean and organized. The dentist was patient, thorough and took her time explaining everything. I will definitely be sharing my experience with all of my friends. I'm looking forward to many years with this practice.

I was fortunate enough to be recommended to check out Dr. Young and young smiles pediatric dentistry! I took my 2 year old son to his first visit before to Dr. Soper in Hebron, and did not have a fantastic visit at all. He wanted to pull all my sons teeth, and that was that. Something felt wrong in my gut so after doing some research and talking to people, I found Dr. Young. She immediately got my vote. She was so empathetic in the fact that she treats her patients like she would want her own children treated. She gave me and my son options, options that don't include strapping him to a board and pulling out teeth without anesthesia. The office was so clean and absolutely adorable! My son loved the big toothbrushes on the wall and couldn't wait to get a token to grab a toy after the visit! The staff were all wonderful, from the smiling face that checked us in, all the way to the patient assistance and hygienist. I would recommend Dr. Young not only to my friends, but also to my family! If you have pediatric dental needs, call her office before she fully books up!

If you're looking for a pediatric dentist, Young Smiles is a great place to go! You can take your kids as early as 6 months after their first tooth comes through or by their first birthday, which is what I did. All of the staff and Dr. Alex were so kind during my first visit with my little guy. The space is great - they have a chalk board welcoming new patients in the lobby, which is such a cute touch! And I like their policies and methods, like their lap-to-lap technique to help your children's anxiety about being there. We got a nice little goody bag at the end with baby-friendly toothbrushes and some toothpaste. I'm looking forward to their services as my little guy gets older and am confident he'll always be comfortable here!
