I was so pleased with the service and so was my daughter. Then the Dentist refused to see her again because my daughter is too shy acting. What?!!!! I grew up shy, when was this a crime. I was suggested to go to a different place for the procedure that she needed. I agreed but then changed my mind due to my daughter already feeling comfortable with her. She then refused. They never called back after I called and called to get a reason as to why. She's still in need of dental care and THEY REFUSED! I've never seen this happen before. Never again. They put a bad taste in my mouth and now everyone I know won't take their kids there. (That's a lot of people) They all love my child and saw how that hurt her knowing that she was refused.

I want to be clear that the actual practitioners of this place are wonderful. Both of my children felt comfortable and cared for at their initial visits. But the administration of this place is horrid. You can never reach a real person on the phone and they never call you back. They scheduled one of my children for a filling and when we showed up the office was closed. We also needed to schedule a procedure for my other child for over 4 months. We have left numerous voicemails and they have yet to call us back regarding either issue. And now that we've decided to switch dentists they are refusing to release our records.

Made an appointment for my twins in June for today August 4th. Called to confirm the appointment before we head out to their office and they said there was no appointment today because they are only operating out of two locations. In July they sent out an email saying they would reschedule the appointments at either the Steele Creek or Waxhaw location. This morning the rep Crystal stated that they didn't do that. My twins start Pre-K in 3 weeks and needed their dental screening for school. Very unprofessional and lied in the email about rescheduling the appointments. I took off work today for their appointment. Now I have to spend the morning calling dentist offices to see if my babies can get an appointment. Such a disappointment when you made the appointment months in advance!!

The front desk wasn't very friendly. But once we went back the dental hygienist was very sweet and attentive. And the Dentist was great as well.

TERRIBLE. They will cancel on you the day before you're appointment and claim "we didn't know the office would be closed that day." And that won't just be a one time occurrence.. it will happen almost every time. You will never see the same dentist twice... and if your child has any sort of cognitive special needs... FORGET IT. Don't work in a pediatric office if you don't know how to speak to children. I never write bad reviews, but this practice is HORRIBLE.

Profit over Patients!! This office had me waiting over 45 minutes for my child's filling. Needless to say we walked out. Why schedule people for a specific time if you're not going to keep the time yourself? They want to fit as many people in just to get the $$$$; all while knowing they are short staff. So they make you wait!! So glad I have the best dental insurance and will take my business elsewhere

I was pleasantly impressed. They deserve every one of these 5 stars I am giving them in this review. The staff are exceptionally helpful and polite. When I arrived for an appointment with my two son's we discovered that we had actually gotten the date wrong. The staff was able to accommodate us without any fanfare. In a world where doctors have an attitude of "you are dependent on us, and you are so fortunate to see a doctor" I was surprised that we could be helped. Usually doctors would put you on a month long waiting list, just to show you that they are the ones in charge. The dentist and her assistant that worked on my children were wonderful. Skilled and really good with children. If I were to be asked by a friend if I could recommend a dentist for their children, this would be the one that I would recommend.

Dr Young and Christopher were very polite and patient with my 3 year old who was afraid of being there. The appointment was quick and straight to the point. Although my daughter wasn't a fan of the cleaning tools they normally use I'm glad they had alternate measures. Will be back in 6 months.

It was our fist visit and having 3 kids in tow (one which was cranky and crying) the staff was absolutely wonderful! My toddler in particular is not fond of Dr. Or Dentist visits, but the hygienist and dentist were welcoming and helped her become more comfortable. Very pleased and happy, would highly recommend.

This office is always friendly and helpful. Kids don't mind a bit going there. Dentists, hygienists, office people are all so nice. Great place

I don't think that they are equipped to deal with children who are a little sensitive my son had to have his x-rays done and instead of just being quick and taking the picture the lady decided to stand there and coach my son on breathing while hes got the giant thing between his teeth and even as I am an adult is hard for me to have x-rays done so I know how come to little can be and he ended up throwing up and she had an attitude the whole time and they also take forever!!

If your child is recommended for an extensive amount of dental work from Y&P staff please get a second opinion. I was told my daughter was going to need an outrageous amount of work done. It hadn't been a year since her last cleaning and nothing was needed then so I couldn't understand why or really how her teeth has progressed so rapidly. I left in tears bc I felt so bad for my daughter. When we got home and I discussed this with her father he was outraged also. We both wanted and needed a second opinion before anything was to be done. I made an appt at another pediatric dentist for the following day. Needless to say it was a day and night difference. They couldn't understand why I was recommended for so much work when none was needed.. a second opinion is always a great idea especially for your children. I know everyone has different experiences with everything in life but I just thought I needed to share this with everyone. If I could help another family so they didn't have to go thru what we did then it was worth it. We transfered my daughter to the new dentist and she is so much happier. She loves going to the dentist now when before she didn't. Listen to your kids when it comes to anything being done to them or for them.

The staff and Dr. Young are all very attentive, kind and thoughtful of my children whenever I bring them in for cleanings and fillings. I tried a couple other local dentists before I found them and they've been our dentist for years now. Love this office and my kids do too!

Beware! We took our children here for over 6 years. We have private insurance. The staff is friendly and facilities are nice. We never needed to look any where else until... my son chipped his tooth. Y&P couldn't guarantee that they could fix it during the visit so we took him to our dentist (does kids and adults). He was due for his annual as well so we decided to just allow our dentist to do both because who has time to take off twice? We were previously told by Y&P that my child had 6 cavities on his baby teeth. We refused the cavity "treatment" from Y&P because he had no pain and they were baby teeth. After xrays with our dentist, we were told that our son actually had ZERO cavities! Y&P would have drilled six wholes in our baby's head for no reason! I have read previous reviews and apparently we are not the only people they have tried this on. We will never step foot in their office again!

We recently had my three year old's first appointment. I tried to prepare her ahead of time about what to expect, but she was very nervous when she got into the office. She cried through the entire cleaning - but the hygienist was so patient and sweet with her. She got the cleaning done, and the tears stopped. She then took the time to prepare her for what the dentist was going to be looking for and how she would do the exam. The rest of the appointment went beautifully, and my daughter couldn't wait to tell her friends at daycare about her visit (and show them her new stickers)! I'm so grateful for the patience and kindness they showed during what I am sure could have been a frustrating visit for them. And because of that, my daughter is excited about the idea of going back. As we walked out the door, she turned to wave goodbye and said, "That was so fun!"

I've been bringing my son here for years. It's normally a good experience but today, I notice they'll charge you $75 for a canceled appointment even if it's 48 hours ahead of time. If you plan to be so forceful with patients on being late or canceling, I'd appreciate my appointment starting on time. They rush you to get here and then have you waiting for 30 minutes for a teeth cleaning. Once we get to the back, we waited another 30 minutes before his cleaning even started. If we are held accountable for your time, you should be considerate of ours too. Also, I made a note of my concerns on my "update info" sheet. The receptionist showed it to her coworker right in front of me. Very unprofessional. Not a good experience here today.
