Dr. Rick Laguatan graduated from the UIC College of Dentistry. He received a certificate for a Dental General Practice Residency at Chicagos Cook County Hospital with rotations in emergency medicine, internal medicine and oral surgery. For the past twelve years, Dr. Laguatan has been in practice in Joliet Illinois, treating patients of all ages. Recently, he has completed a rigorous two year Orthodontic training program for general practitioners through Progressive Orthodontic Seminars.
Dr. Laguatan and his wife Mary Agnes, reside in Downers Grove. She works for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana as the operational director of the Ronald McDonald Houses in the area. Outside the office, Dr. Laguatans interests include golf, running, working out, and going to the movies with his wife. He is also a diehard Cubs and Bears fan, but will treat the occasional White sox patient!

At Yorkville Family Dental we want our patients to take charge of their dental health. Our intra-oral camera allows our patients to see the inside of their mouths with great clarity and detail. This allows a better understanding of diagnosis and treatment.
Safer: The sensitive computer sensor uses a much lower amount of radiation than more traditional x-ray machines. In fact, it uses 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. Better: The digital sensor sees details conventional film misses and the image can be magnified 300x its normal size. Contrast can be adjusted to reveal details normal film might not detect. Faster: Because there is no development cycle, images are available to Dr. Laguatan within seconds of being taken! Smarter: The digital system does not use hazardous chemicals to develop film and therefore avoids producing hazardous waste.
X-rays taken with a Panorex x-ray digital machine differ from other digital x-rays because it takes a panoramic picture of your teeth. The machine moves through a half-circle motion that captures an image of your entire mouth. Like digital x-rays, digital panorex x-rays reduce the amount of radiation you are exposed to. Panorex images may not but necessary for you, Dr. Laguatan will determine whether or not a panorex image is needed for your best course of treatment.
Dr. Laguatan reduces your time spent in the dental chair by 20-30% using the innovative Isolite Dryfield Illuminator System. This system uses a soft and flexible mouthpiece to comfortably open the mouth, retracting the cheek and providing a rest area for your jaw. The system also illuminates the interior of the mouth, allowing full visibility, access and moisture control. The isolite also offers continuous suction of debris and fluids, eliminating the use of cotton rolls and rubber dams. Dr. Laguatan and his staff put their patients comfort first. I have been to many dentists in the area and Dr. Rick is by far the most gentle and patient dentist we have seen yet. He explains what he will do before he does it. Costs are provided up front. Very little pain involved in anything he does. Highly recommend. Great Dentist!!!

Dr. Laguatan and his staff are wonderful! We were new to Yorkville as of this year and now our whole family goes to YFD. We had a dental emergency with our toddler and Dr. Laguatan saw him immediately to make sure he was okay. To our relief he was fine, but Dr. Laguatan checked his front teeth out twice, free of charge, to be certain that he was okay. This blew us away. I love going to a practice where they know you, and know your family members names and details about your life. They take the time to get to know you and really make going to the dentist actually fun! I had an (almost) root canal done today and I left smiling and laughing, I think that is saying something! Thank you everyone at YFD!

I had a great experience at Yorkville Family Dental! Tricia at front desk was so nice and helpful. Adrienne, the hygienist, was very gentle, thorough and knowledgeable and Dr. Laguatan is a very nice guy. Couldn't be happier with the care I received. I would definitely recommend YFD!

Dr. Laguatan is by far the best dentist in the area. My whole family and many of my friends are patients of Yorkville Family Dental and we have all agreed that his prices and service are exceptional. Nobody looks forward to going to the dentist, right? Well a visit with Dr. Laguatan is actually like a pleasant social engagement. He is very entertaining while he works on your teeth so the time seems to fly by and you barely notice that his hands are in your mouth. His prices have always been fair and his schedule is very accommodating. He is very patient and will keep working until he gets the job done to your satisfaction. I strongly recommend this dentist.

Not sure why they only show a 3.9 on stars. The staff here is amazing. I was recommended by my husband that HATES going to the dentist, and I have to say, they are the best! I have been to previous dentists that don't care your comfort level, they just want to get in your mouth and be done. The staff and the Dr made sure that I was comfortable the entire time. Made great small talk while getting my cleaning done and they have given me advice no other dentist has. Thank you YFD! My girls will be your next patients!

I just recently got kicked out of my pediatric dentist & started going here. I really liked my old dentist & didn't know how to feel about going somewhere else but I've already been twice & had really great experiences! Everyone is very nice & personable & made going to an "adult dentist" a breeze lol. 11/10 would recommend(:
