Jacobi Medical Center, located on Pelham Parkway in the Morris Park section of the Bronx, serves the residents of the Bronx, southern Westchester, as well as New Yorkers from the greater metropolitan area. Jacobi is the largest public hospital in the Bronx and offers a complete range of acute, general, specialty, and psychiatric services. Jacobi operates community-based health care centers that provide adult and pediatric exams and screenings. Jacobi serves thousands of community residents, and is a Level 1 trauma center, serving the north Bronx and lower Westchester.

Jacobi is the main site for emergency dental care, operating room care, and the primary training site for oral maxillofacial surgery training. The dental clinic at Jacobi is the main site for comprehensive ambulatory adult and pediatric dental care. The Rose F. Kennedy center, also on site, delivers dental care to patients with developmental disabilities. Its designation as a Level 1 traumatizes center allows dental residents to work side-by-side with emergency room personnel to care for those who have sustained dentofacial trauma.

The Department of Dentistry/OMFS sponsors residencies in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, dental anesthesiology, and dental public health, as well as a post-graduate fellowship in craniofacial orthodontics. Oral and maxillofacial surgery training is provided in conjunction with Mt. Sinai Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine; it is a six year program. Each of our residencies are fully accredited by the ADAs Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Residents function as associates of the attendings, providing appropriate care to their assigned patients. Our programs are designed to help the resident find diverse clinical experience and grow in confidence while under the guidance of experienced practitioners. Our dental programs work together, in a team approach, to provide comprehensive care for both in- and out-patients. Our dental public health resident, the only one in New York, affords its residence to gain experience in community dentistry programs as well.

JMC is comprised of Jacobi Hospital ambulatory, in-patient and emergency facilities and the Rose F. Kennedy Center. Jacobi Hospitalis the primary site utilized for emergency care, oral maxillofacial surgery training, and operating room experience. The dental clinicis the primary site of comprehensive ambulatory dental care for adults and children. The Rose F. Kennedy Center delivers dental care to patients with developmental disabilities.

Jacobi Medical Center is designated as a Level 1 trauma center. This provides residents with the unique opportunity to work with emergency room personnel to provide care for those who have sustained maxillofacial trauma.

Jacobi Medical Center is a member of the New York City Health and Hospitals system and partners with North Central Bronx Hospital to provide care for patients and educational opportunities for residents.
