My husband had a long-standing problem with a wisdom tooth, we lost some time in trips, so problem became big, we need to cut and then sew up the gum after extracting the tooth. And we afraid alot, coz it's sound like a big deal. But the doctor Yen is a true professional in his field, did everything quickly and painlessly, the gum healed quickly. The staff at the hospital is very friendly, everything is clean and beautiful. If you need a professional and painless dental treatment - feel free to come here! Many thanks to Doctor Yen and all your staff for curing my husband! You are the best! :-) Warmly, Kuzhym's family.

I had an amazing experience here for my wisdom teeth removal surgery. The staff is extremely professional, friendly, and are always ready to answer any and all questions I had. I was in a time crunch to get my surgery done, but they made sure to fit me into their busy schedule. Dr. Yen even called me the day after surgery to check on me. They're very thoughtful with their patient care/aftercare. The office is very clean and organized. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend everyone to go to them.

I was referred to Yen Oral Surgery to take care of a toothache I have had for awhile now. When making the appointment the front desk was very friendly and informed me of everything I needed to know prior to the appointment. When coming in for my actual appointment I felt very welcomed. The front desk greeted me, checked me in and went over any forms I needed to fill out in detail. They gave me a break down of the cost of my appointment. There weren't any unforeseen fees, and they were willing to work with me with regards to finances. I did not have to wait long before being seated and being seen by the doctor. The assistant was kind and gentle while taking the xrays. Before starting any procedure the doctor explained to me in detail what was going on with my tooth and what my options were for treating my pain. After I decided what I wanted to do the doctor explained to me step by step how the procedure was going to go and what I could expect when recovering. During the procedure the doctor and and assistant where gentle and comforting, always checking in to make sure I was doing fine. I highly recommend this office as they take the time to explain things to their patients and put comfort first. They are very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

Horrible service. Also I suspect they are selling the patients' information.

I'm writing this to give people a heads up about the clinic based on my experience of four wisdom teeth extraction ($3,845 bill) as I relied on the previous reviews for decision making. Short summary: bad service and questionable bill with nice doctor (the surgery was smooth). I chose this clinic because I found it in my insurance network and I thought its google review was good - "doctor's skill is great and service is nice" - though I did see some complaints about billing, I did not care too much because I thought it wouldn't be too ridiculous given that I have an insurance. I came to this clinic knowing that I needed to get four wisdom teeth removed according to my dentist in Illinois with an X-ray result. When I made an appointment, I said I was not sure whether having them all removed on the same day was safe and may need doctor's advice. So the lady set me up with an appointment with consultation + surgery. The day I came to the clinic, the first thing I felt is that the front desk is not welcoming. They barely smiled and were very cold when talking to me (the difference is clear comparing to my previous dental experience in Illinois). Next, I was in a room and watched a video about facts and risks about wisdom teeth removal, and then the doctor came in to further explain the risks and asked me to sign a risk disclaimer sheet. The doctor went through the risks so fast that I could hardly catch up, but I knew it was not a dangerous surgery and I need to have it done anyway. So even though I may not fully understand the risks it does not bother me much. Then a lady came in showing me the bill, $150 for the consultation, for a service I was not provided for. Because they only did what they need to do for the surgery - disclaiming the risks. I did not consulted with anyone about the surgery at all - when I came to the clinic I said I need four wisdom teeth extracted and that's all. The total bill adds up to over $3,800 while my insurance only covers a maximum of $2,000. I was shocked at the bill as a whole so I was slow to realize that the consultation fee was unreasonable until on my check day I overheard another patient loudly complaining to receptionists that he was charged unreasonably for the consultation fee as well. The receptionist immediately apologized to the man and said they will cancel the consultation fee. I had always trusted clinics that they would only charge reasonable things and never questioned the legitimacy but I found myself wrong. Back to the bill experience. It was my first time having a surgery in the U.S., and I was not sure about some terms on the bill so I asked the lady several times. She seemed impatient as if I asked too many questions. I told the lady it was too expensive, but she told me I either take the bill or choose not to have my surgery done today (my boyfriend already took a day off for the surgery and I didn't want to bother him too much), and said my bill was already very low. I thought that there was no room for negotiation and gave up. However, on the day I went back to check my recovery condition of the surgery, I heard other nurses welcomingly offering patients 5%-10% discounts and it made me feel stupid. I felt that I was discriminated and took advantage of because they saw me as a young Asian woman with an accent and who at the same times knew little things about the medical system and fair pricing in the U.S. The lady who showed me the bill was so rude and unsympathetic, it made me wondering why there were so many people feel good about their services or is it just me. It is hard to believe but I do feel being discriminated as an Asian at a seemingly "Asian" clinic. This clinic needs to enhance employee training on their services to patients because we do not come here to feel unwelcomed and not understood when we need to accept so many risks and uncertainties for the surgery, and definitely not to feel discriminated and took advantage of after the surgery's done.

I was referred to Dr. Yen for a dental implant. Dr. Yen went through the process very thoroughly and did an amazing job with the procedure. I had very minimal pain. The office staff is very nice, helpful and personable. They made everything very easy throughout this process. I would definitely recommend Dr. Yen.

Excellent care from the moment we called with an emergency situation down to the billing. My son lives in CA, but had an emergency requiring oral surgery. He was in so much pain that I had to call from across the country and was able to get him in on an emergency basis and on a Saturday! The staff was more than amazing and took incredible care of him, and I couldn't have been more grateful. What was even more impressive was that they billed everything correctly and there were no surprises in the end. They were very professional and caring. We highly recommend Dr. Yen and his staff.

I went to Dr. Yen's office to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed in one sitting and was delighted by the efficiency and professionalism of the appointment. What was a nerve racking experience quickly turned into an informative and painless procedure with images of nature to distract any discomfort if you're also afraid of getting an IV. In any unfortunate reason I need more teeth pulled I'll definitely be coming back! Thanks Doc! Also the front desk and assistants were very friendly and helpful!

Dr. Yen is indeed a very good surgeon. I just wish these guys were not running an establishment which gives false information to force patients to pay a lot money after the procedure. My wife was in need to wisdom tooth extraction and we were referred to Dr. Yen for the same. Before the start of procedure, we confirmed with them if they are in-network (Metlife PPO). They said that they are in-network and gave an estimate of 190/- USD which we paid. After 2 weeks, we got a bill from Yen Oral surgery showing a balance amount of 250/- !! The claim they submitted with Metlife was for out-of-network. When I called up Metlife , they told me that Dr. Yen has specifically asked to be removed from network in the beginning of the 2021 (much before my wife's procedure). So convenient for them to not share this information. Today I went to Yen Oral to clarify this and I was told that "we are not partners with Metlife but we are a part of bigger umbrella which is partner with Metlife". I don't even know what that means because ultimately, they are out-of-network but claiming that they are in-network. I also asked if they provide estimates without checking with insurance provider. Based on the claim filed, the estimate should have been around 400/- USD instead of 190/-. For this, the only response was "I am sorry". I am going to take with up with my referring doctor and Metlife. But, please steer clear of Yen Oral to avoid this situation. That is, unless you want to be slapped by charges which are more than twice of initial estimate. Do Not Trust these guys.

I feel so good with Dr.Yen and other staff on my visits!! Honestly, I went to several offices for wisdom teeth extraction consultation, I think this office is more professional from doctor to finance and insurance staffs.
