Yelena Shapiro, DDS, MS, is a conscientious, skilled, and personableprosthodontist, cosmetic and implant dentists who deliver exceptional patient care efficiently and accurately. Dr. Shapiro welcomes new and existing patients and all members of their family to her private practice, located in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Dr. Shapiro completed specialty training and herMaster's degree at Columbia University and then went on to complete Implant Fellowship from Columbia University. This was extensive training in the field of implant surgery, bone augmentation, and regeneration, as well as guided surgery. Upon completion of her undergraduate program in biochemistry and biophysics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, Dr. Shapiro pursued dental school. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in New York City. Dr. Shapiro then finished her internship and residency at Long Island College Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in implant dentistry. Dr. Shapiro is passionate about continuing her education because she wants to be able to offer the latest and most advanced dental treatments to her patients. She holds an additional certification in prosthodontics that she earned during her fellowship at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. Dr. Shapiro also maintains a professional membership with the Second District Dental Society. Patients of Dr. Shapiro commend her willingness to educate them about their oral health. She provides personalized care and lets patients know the details of all possible treatment paths, which allows patients to stay involved in the decision-making process. Surgery is begunaftera thorough evaluation of 3D imaging (CT scans), which makes a critical difference in the quality and accuracy of surgeries as well as minimizes complications. One of the best dentists in NYC. I still travel 45min+ to visit her because she's that good. Great personality, extremely technically capable. Her staff is great too!

Dr.Shapiro is amazing! I have always had the habit of running from Dentist. She was so warm, clear, understood my concerns and found a solution. She truly takes time with you.even when it's against her, to make sure she understands your needs as well as offer what's best for your health her concerns. She attends to order of operation and no short cuts -- I truly appreciate this. I have been to so many dental offices who wanted short cuts - not Dr. Shapiro! Have you ever visited a dentist that made you feel confident prior to doing any dental work on you? Have you ever met a dentist that made you feel more important than the exam chair you're occupying? Her bed side manner is amazing. I went in with high levels of anxiety and nervousness and almost left because if this. She calmed be and took her time and I'm so grateful to have calmed and let her do what she's abasing start doing. She's officially my dentist! Thank you Dr.Shapiro!

She's the best. I have friends who fly back from California to see her and I still go to her after moving to New Jersey. After someone else did a number on a root canal, she gave me the name of a guy who did her mother's root canal and said she won't do root canals because it's not her specialty. I appreciate the honesty!! After seeing some other dentists in the city will do anything to make money. Also, great at cleaning and filling cavities. Takes time to hear your concerns and addresses them. She always takes X-rays and shows you the cavity. The best.

Dr. Shapiro has gone above and beyond in helping me with a broken front tooth. It was such a traumatic experience and she took the time to explain the process and has been meticulous, comforting and just so wonderful in every aspect. Her bedside manner is unmatched and she keeps going until the whole process is literally perfect. She kept adjusting the temporary tooth and also made sure that the final product was the perfect fit. I was always uneasy around dentists, but this experience with Dr. Shapiro and her staff has exceeded all of my expectations. They have done a great job with COVID precautions. I felt safe and comfortable.

Dr. Shapiro truly engages you in your care and makes sure you understand every step of the procedure. Very friendly, energetic and meticulous in her work.
