I have been practicing dentistry since 2005 and truly love my profession. I have found my passion in family, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry, which allows me to diagnose and treat the root causes of oral health issues and create a smile which epitomizes the beauty in each individual.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton with a minor in Chinese Language. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and have been practicing quality family and cosmetic dentistry in the greater Bay Area.
I am proficient in a wide range of state-of-the-art dental procedures and techniques and committed to pursuing continuing education at the highest level. I am also a member of numerous prestigious organizations including the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
Hi my name is Samir. I started in dentistry as a dental assistant and soon found myself falling in love with the difficulty that accommodated learning about teeth. After just a year I decided to further my degree and go back to school to become what I amtoday, a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF). My title consists of placing permanent restorations whether it be a filling, crown, bridge or even an implant crown. I am confident in myself that the techniques I've learned as well as the dental material knowledge I have will aide me in the pursuit for the very best care that I can give you.
A few things to know about me are that I love to talk about sports, cars, current events and everything in between. I'm a firm believer that going to the dentist can be fun and I always thrive to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Anything from a pillow to a bad joke, I can provide to you. I've been married since 2011 to my beautiful wife Pakisa. We enjoy traveling and eating good food. She's been a great teacher to me, she's a nurse that helps me understand the difficulty that arises with patient comfort. In other words, she helps me see things from a different angle.
Andrew was born in Washington state and grew up in the Bay Area. At 23, he had the privilege and honor to serve in the United States Marine Corps. He often volunteered in the communities he lived in, to include North Carolina and Florida, and lived in Okinawa, Japan for two years. Shortly after his 5 year active enlistment, Andrew became a dental assistant, working in an oral surgery office. Moving on to become a dental hygienist, he found a passion for helping his patients improve their oral health.In his free time, Andrew enjoys going to the movies, gardening, and cooking. He also likes to travel to visit friends he served with and his family. In the summer months, you can find him attending renaissance faires.
Dr. Wanlan Xiao is committed to delivering outstanding care in family dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. We are conveniently located in lovely downtown Livermore, California. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance as well as the Livermore Cinemas. Our facility offers free parking behind the building.

Review based on surprising $200 increase from original quote, plus after 2 crowns - never did crown the one originally told to get fixed right away. Yes service was really great and staff is very friendly but between the increase of $400 for my partners dental and the increase in my dental, it wiped out our yearly medical reimbursement account in January. Too bad, I did like them but greed got in the way. They should dump their dental pricing system and go honest.

Dr. Xiao and her staff are so thorough and explain all the procedures that will take place. It's such a friendly office and they even have the cutest dog Vadar to calm your nerves!!

I love Xiao Dental! The team is so friendly and kind, always chatting and genuinely interested in what's going on in their patient's lives. I've had 2 cleanings and multiple visits as I'm mid-way through straightening my teeth with clear aligners. Every visit is great, the staff are all helpful and informative, and Dr. Xiao is a joy to work with! She really cares about her patients and it shows. Thanks to all at Xiao Dental!

Two extremely expensive mistakes were made while under Dr. Xiao's care, and now I have had to pay more that 6k to get them fixed. One being tooth resorption that was missed even though it was clearly visible on early x-rays--the delay in identification/treatment is what is making fixing it now so expensive. The second one was the complete deformation of my bite from the nightguard she had made for me. Requires over a year of orthodontic work to fix now, and several thousand dollars. No accountability from their side either. 0/10 would not recommend.

My sister was a dental hygienist her husband was the dentist our family dentist. When it was time to find a new dentist after his retirement I researched several and Dr. Xiao was my first choice. Just recently I had a crown replacement and a couple cavities filled and I am here to tell you that my experience with the with the entire business was fantastic, the office was incredibly friendly and efficient, they were friendly and qualified, and Dr. Xiao is very gifted as a dentist I can't say enough about how happy I am! This is a long overdue testimonial for Dr. Xiao & her staff/office. My mom had a dental emergency given that she had cracked her tooth. Dr. Xiao immediately accommodated her to assess her broken tooth which was such a relief given my mom's age & pain level. Dr. Xiao carefully explained the procedure & possible risks to my mom and answered her questions with confidence & patience which really helped put her at ease. My mom was extremely happy & confident with Dr. Xiao's level of experience & how well she was put at ease with all the professional & caring staff during the day of her procedure. This is obviously during Covid times and my mom is a senior who is very concerned with level of disinfection of the dental practice - she was definitely very confident with how well the office took so much precaution with cleaning the environment. Dr. Xiao is an extremely caring & patient dentist who showed so much compassion for my mom during a scary incident (Covid & dental emergency). We would definitely recommend Dr. Xiao & her caring staff - they truly care about their patients & will go the extra mile to make sure that their patients are under excellent care & minds put at ease!! They deserve 10+ stars!!

Horrible customer service!!!!!! I used this dentist a few years ago with no problems and now that the tooth that they put in has fallen out, they refused me as a patient!!! The lady even told me that she doesn't know why I was dismissed as a patient!!!!! Not sure if this is because I'm African American but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Don't use them!!!! It literally took me 10 phone calls and a call to the dentists other number for a response, oh and they also answered and hung up on me a few times. Extremely unprofessional!!!!

I drive by this office every day on my way to work. I see the staff going in and I just thought they looked like cool people. People that would not judge me for having bad teeth. People that would be kind and patient. So I made an appointment and went in today. I was 100% correct! They were very cool!! So very kind!! And they even have a support puppy to sit with you when your freaking out!! Dr Xiao is seriously so amazing! She is like a good friend not a dentist . You immediately feel how much she cares!! I am amazed by this experience. Is it possible that I am actually excited to go back!! Seriously if you are looking for the most amazing dental experience...... you will find it here!! Dr. Xaio is amazing. I recently had veneers made by her and I am so extremely happy. I have not smiled showing my teeth in over 20 years and she has given me the ability to smile again. She is the best dentist I have ever worked with. Samir, her dental assistant, is excellent. He is so friendly and always mindful of my fears. He understands dentistry and is very professional in his approach. He is one of the many reasons I continue to go. Sara in billing, is always so delightful. I love talking to her. Five stars hands down to Dr. Xiao and team.

It may be hard to believe but my 8 year old daughter enjoys going to her dentist--Dr. Xiao. She is comfortable with everyone in her office. I appreciate the extra mile that everyone goes to, just to make her feel comfortable and ease any anxiety she may be feeling. She loves Vader(the dog) and the comfort he provides just by sitting on her lap. Being there during the procedure, I witnessed the care and anxiety relieving measures they do simply by talking to her, and joking with her. Today, My daughter is laughing, talking a mile a minute and making Jokes an hour after two extractions! Many Thanks to everyone.
