Berks Oral Surgery, Ltd. is a full spectrum Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice of the highest quality, with special emphasis on dental implants. Our group was founded by the late Dr. James J. Ciabattoni (1932-1994) in 1975. In that same year he was joined by Dr. Erwin H. Wolf, II and Dr. John J. Ciabattoni. Dr. Andrew M. Rowan joined our group in 1989 and Dr. Fred J. Ciabattoni came aboard in 1991. Dr. Steven D. Fallon joined the practice in 2007. Since 2013 three new doctors have joined our group: Dr. David L. Winans (2013), Dr. Geoffrey S. Zinberg (2015) and Dr. David Sibley (2021). This year we celebrate the 46th anniversary of our practice.
Our practice began on Penn Avenue in Wyomissing. We moved to our present Berkshire Blvd., location in 1991. Our building was planned, designed and built specifically for oral surgery. In 2016, we opened a second, state-of-the-art facility in Exeter, on Perkiomen Avenue. It features a specialized operatory suite that helps facilitate collaborations with your dentist when needed. With the best equipment and instruments available, we have over 15,000 square feet of space, featuring the latest technology available.
All of our doctors are Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and are certified in Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Our entire surgical staff is certified in Basic Life Support.
Our doctors keep current with continuing education and are on the cutting edge of the latest advances and techniques in surgery and anesthesia. We are a true team, with daily discussions of cases and of special needs of patients. At Berks Oral Surgery our doctors have a combined experience of over 115 years!
Dr. Steven D. Fallon was born and raised in Spring Township and is a graduate of Wilson High School. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996, Dr. Fallon began his dental career at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and received his DMD in 2001. During that time, he received the Theodore Blum Oral Surgery award recognizing him for his clinical excellence in that field. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the Medical College of Virginia in 2005 and has been practicing full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Fallon is board certified and enjoys practicing all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Fallons comprehensive training included all aspects of the specialty, with an emphasis on dental implant surgery, removal of wisdom teeth, corrective jaw surgery, outpatient general anesthesia and facial cosmetic surgery. He also embarked on mission trips to Honduras where he treated underprivileged children born with dentofacial deformities, cleft lips and palates. Dr. Fallon maintains surgical privileges and is an active staff member at the Reading Hospital.
He now lives in Sinking Spring with his wife and their children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to the Jersey shore, surfing, sailing, and playing golf. Dr. Fallon is extremely excited to be back home in the Reading area and is looking forward to becoming involved in the Berks County community.
Dr. Winans is thrilled to be back in his home town and to be a part of the Berks Oral Surgery team. He is a native of Berks county and a graduate of Wyomissing Area High School. Following high school, he went on to attend Penn State University where he was a walk on member of the varsity soccer team and graduated with a bachelors degree in finance. Dr. Winans moved back to the Philadelphia area to complete his dental degree, graduating summa cum laude from Temple University School of Dentistry. He remained in center city Philadelphia where he received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical training from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. During residency Dr. Winans served as chief resident, and completed his program in 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and in the process of becoming an active member of the Pennsylvania Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the America Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the Reading Hospital Medical Staff.
Some of Dr. Winans specialty training and interests include corrective jaw surgery, treatment of oral/facial tumors and cysts with advanced reconstruction, facial trauma, temporomandibular joint disorders, obstructive sleep apnea, implant rehabilitation, as well as dental extractions. His extensive training allows him to provide complete patient comfort through the utilization of general anesthesia and state of the art patient monitoring.Dr. Winansis board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
