Dr. Wright is a native of Arizona and has been serving the East Valley with superior orthodontic care since 2005. Dr. Wright completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. After graduating, Dr. Wright attended the University of Maryland and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. From there, he obtained a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Jacksonville University Dental School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Wright is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. He was a member of the Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society and the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. He also received the William and Howard Reid Fellowship for Dental Materials Research Award. Dr. Wright continues to stay current with the latest advances in orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Wright resides in Mesa and enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Janeen and their five children. He also enjoys participating with and giving back to the community. Dr. Wright loves escaping to Lake Powell from the Arizona heat with his family. Were seeing more and more adult orthodontic patients these days and its not hard to figure out why. Appliances that are barely noticeable have been developed to give adults more discreet choices when it come to orthodontic treatment. Many adults realize that investing in a smile makeover can have significant benefits for their oral health and aesthetics. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, so theres no such thing as being too old for braces.
Its best for the orthodontist to see children by age 7 to advise if orthodontic treatment is required and when is the best time for that patient to be treated. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time and crossbites, crowding, and other problems can be evaluated. When treatment is begun early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. The ability to take better care of the teeth through oral hygiene also helps prevent future cavities and periodontal disease. Properly aligned teeth and jaws may also alleviate unnecessary wear and grinding. It is known that malocclusion or a bad bite can lead to problems with the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) and even ineffective chewing and digestion problems. In extreme cases, chronic headaches and back or neck pain can result.
Furthermore, straight teeth are less prone to injury. Protruding upper teeth are more likely to be broken or traumatized in an accident. Once repositioned and aligned, these teeth are at a decreased risk of being fractured. So in many ways, an attractive smile is a pleasant side effect of orthodontic treatment although many patients actually view it as the primary benefit.
Orthodontics goes beyond just the mouth, however. Proper treatment can bring the teeth and lips into proportion with the jaws and face. Investing in orthodontics to correct a problem early in life is generally less costly than the restorative dental care required to treat more serious problems that can develop in later years.
The American Dental Association along with the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have a check-up no later than age seven. Although only a few orthodontic problems need to be corrected at that age, an early exam allows the orthodontist to offer advice and guidance as to when the appropriate age to start treatment would be.

Dr. Wright and his office staff are awesome! Dr. Wright took over my Invisalign treatment that a prior provider could not figure out how to complete. Dr. Wright is a perfectionist (and so am I, so it works out well!) and he listens to his patients. All of his staff have been great to work with and I recommend him to everyone I know who are considering braces.

Wright Orthodontics is the best of the BEST!! My experience with braces from day one was one of the greatest and most cherishing experiences I've ever had the opportunity to do. Best Best Best Best best place in the whole entire world, it's so uplifting in there, you will leave that place with a bigger smile then you came with! This is the best orthodontist I've ever been too. I came to them when i was younger and got the bracket braces and absolutely loved them. They always made sure they were comfortable, if a bracket broke off they either made same day appointment or next day appointment to get it fixed. They really cater to your needs and concerns and are always in an upbeat mood. I am back with them now but now i am using Invisalign. (i was a stubborn 12-13 year old and never wore my retainer ) They were so welcoming and still had that bubbly friendly attitude that i remembered when i was younger. I will always recommend family and friends to them because not only do they make you feel like family they are very skilled in what they do. Shout out to Michelle at the Mesa location for being so amazing when i came in and got my attachments on, she was very helpful and very knowledgeable and very friendly.

Orthodontists and religion have a lot more in common than you think. I am obligated to come every 4 weeks, I follow silly rules because its somehow good for me, and the people running the show make bank. The people there are very caring and they are also concerned about you(r dental hygiene). Yeah, orthodontists are just another religion.

Love this place! Allison takes care of my girls and they were very scared at first with all the braces stuff and Allison was patient and calmed them down and does a fantastic job everytime they go in to tighten and change the colors on their braces. It feels like a welcoming place. Thank you for what you do. Dr is always excited to see all the changes happening with braces or invisalign.

I didn't actually get to go here because the quote they gave me was so overpriced, I would never even consider going there. I have a permanent retainer, which means I have already had braces. The wire on the permanent retainer came off on one side so I just needed the wire glued back onto the bracket. They quoted me $1700 just to glue it back on. They said because I would be a new patient they would have to charge me for the whole consultation. Well the consultation includes molds of my teeth, x-rays and the whole works. I don't need any of that because I had braces already. The orthodontist that did my braces is in Idaho so I can't just go back to have them fix it (they will do it for free for the rest of my life). However, at that quoted price I could drive to Idaho, have them fix it and still save $1500. Thank goodness there are other Orthodontists in the area because the next one quoted me $75 and if the whole thing needed to be replaced then it would be $200 which is far more reasonable.
