Dr. Wright is a native of Arizona and has been serving the East Valley with superior orthodontic care since 2005. Dr. Wright completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. After graduating, Dr. Wright attended the University of Maryland and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. From there, he obtained a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S) in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Jacksonville University Dental School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Wright is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. He was a member of the Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society and the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. He also received the William and Howard Reid Fellowship for Dental Materials Research Award. Dr. Wright continues to stay current with the latest advances in orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Wright resides in Mesa and enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Janeen and their five children. He also enjoys participating with and giving back to the community. Dr. Wright loves escaping to Lake Powell from the Arizona heat with his family. Were seeing more and more adult orthodontic patients these days and its not hard to figure out why. Appliances that are barely noticeable have been developed to give adults more discreet choices when it come to orthodontic treatment. Many adults realize that investing in a smile makeover can have significant benefits for their oral health and aesthetics. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, so theres no such thing as being too old for braces.
Its best for the orthodontist to see children by age 7 to advise if orthodontic treatment is required and when is the best time for that patient to be treated. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time and crossbites, crowding, and other problems can be evaluated. When treatment is begun early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and guide incoming permanent teeth. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce likelihood of impacted permanent teeth, correct thumb-sucking, and eliminate abnormal swallowing or speech problems. In other words, early treatment can simplify later treatment.

As important as appearance can be, the benefit of braces goes beyond just esthetics. Straight teeth help an individual more effectively bite, chew, and even speak. It may come as a surprise that straight teeth contribute to healthy teeth and gums. Straighter teeth are easier to brush, clean, and floss! The ability to take better care of the teeth through oral hygiene also helps prevent future cavities and periodontal disease. This latter problem is of particular concern because over time it can lead to destruction of the bone that holds the teeth in place.
Properly aligned teeth and jaws may also alleviate unnecessary wear and grinding. It is known that malocclusion or a bad bite can lead to problems with the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) and even ineffective chewing and digestion problems. In extreme cases, chronic headaches and back or neck pain can result.
Furthermore, straight teeth are less prone to injury. Protruding upper teeth are more likely to be broken or traumatized in an accident. Once repositioned and aligned, these teeth are at a decreased risk of being fractured. So in many ways, an attractive smile is a pleasant side effect of orthodontic treatment although many patients actually view it as the primary benefit.
Orthodontics goes beyond just the mouth, however. Proper treatment can bring the teeth and lips into proportion with the jaws and face. Investing in orthodontics to correct a problem early in life is generally less costly than the restorative dental care required to treat more serious problems that can develop in later years.
The American Dental Association along with the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have a check-up no later than age seven. Although only a few orthodontic problems need to be corrected at that age, an early exam allows the orthodontist to offer advice and guidance as to when the appropriate age to start treatment would be.

SO HAPPY with Wright Orthodontics! They had donated a discount certificate to support our swim team and we were the lucky winners! It came just in time for my daughter's braces. The price and service could not have been better! We went in thinking we would just be getting a consult and we were out the door with a new set of braces, a very happy girl, and a free ice cream! Dr. Wright and his staff were so great in explaining everything we needed to know as a mom and a daughter new to braces. The office is SO CUTE too. We're looking forward to her 6 week check up and adjustment!

Wright Orthodontics made my Invisalign journey easy! Dr. Wright and the team at the Wright Ortho Chandler office were professional. Making my appointments a breeze. My treatment plan went smoothly. I'm very satisfied with my smile! I began my Invisalign treatment in March of 2020 as the pandemic started, but it was actually the perfect time to start! Being at home, made taking out the trays before meals, flossing & brushing my teeth after meals convenient! Just having wrapped up my treatment in December 2021. There were no hick ups in my treatment plan apart from production delays at the Invisalign factory when a new set of trays were ordered. If you're thinking of getting Invisalign orthodontics treatment, I would not hesitate to recommend Wright Orthodontics!

I took my daughter to the dentist and she said she needed braces, I have never had to deal with braces, but my daughter needed them, so here we are. From the moment we walked in until we left everyone was very helpful and nice. They explained what was going to be done, even after care, and we didn't feel rushed. I had so many questions, some I believe to be silly but Cheryl and Edith answered all of them no matter how ridiculous it was. I know my sons need braces too and I will be bringing them here.
