I love that we havecreated an orthodontic office where our patients and families feel comfortable. We have wonderful staff members who focus on each person, making them the top priority during visits. At our office,I am our HR as well as accounts receivable and payables manager. I also maintain our computers and provide tech support for our digital X-ray and digital impression machines. It is a great feeling to have worked with Dr. Woods since 1990,keeping the practice running smoothly,so our patients receive the best care while achieving their new smiles!

As a child and young adult, I lived in different countries whilemy father servedin the U.S. Air Force. Now, I livein Sandwich andenjoy the beaches of Cape Cod, reading, movies, and spending time with my husband, beautiful daughter, and friends.

My name is Jessica and I joined the Woods Orthodontics team in September of 2015. I feel very fortunate to be cross trained in both the clerical and clinical areas of Dr. Woods' practice. Some responsibilities of mine include: greeting patients at the front door with the proper Covid-19 paperwork in order to maintain safety for our patients and staff, confirming dental insurance coverage, importing patient photos and x-rays from the initial to final stages of their treatment into our records, and assisting Dr. Woods in the clinic. It brings me great joy to sendbefore and after photosto our patientsonce their smiles have been transformed!

I enjoy building friendly relationships with patients. Its fantasticto see how much each person changes as they get their new smile: they become much happier and outgoing! I make sure patients are comfortable in the chair, prepare them for their procedure, and work chairside. I also take diagnostic records and teach patients and parents about orthodontic and dental care. I love being part of creating a lifetime of beautiful smiles!

I enjoy talking with and getting to know our patients. We care for people of all ages, so Im always learning something new from them! Seeing a person go from feeling self-conscious to being thrilled with their smile is the best experience and I see it every day! I bring the patient to the chair, make sure theyre comfortable, and explain what Dr. Woods will be doing. Then I sit chairside, helping Dr. Woods while talking with our patient. I also offer information about orthodonticsand take diagnostic records.

When Im not at Woods Orthodontics, I love being at the beach. I was born and raised on Cape Cod and love raising my daughter here. My family and I like being outdoors, especially when were near salt water.

My name is Melissa and I graduated from the dental assistant program at Lincoln Technical Institute in 2013. I joined the Woods Orthodontics team in August of 2017. One of the most rewarding parts of being an orthodontic assistant is the happiness and appreciation our patients give us for what we do. We enjoy making people more confident in themselves.I am never too busy to stop and explain each procedure as treatment progresses so that patients have a full understanding of their orthodontic care. My coworkers and our easy-going patients make it a pleasure to be here each day and I love the relationships we create with each patient. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my cat Penny.

My name is Kalyn and I joined Woods Orthodontics in September of 2018. I enjoy meeting new patients daily and helping them feel more confident about their smiles. It is a very special thing for me when I notice someone's confidence change because of their smile. As an assistant, I try to make sure each patient is comfortable in the clinic and understand their treatment plan while working chairside with Dr. Woods. Working here for several years has increased my knowledge of orthodontic care. In my free time, I enjoy reading, being outdoors and walking my dog Phoebe.

For most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If you're self-conscious about your smile, straighteningyour teethwith braces or aligners will greatly improve the way you look and feel.

When your treatment is complete, you will have the smile you've always dreamed of and the confidence to show it off! We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal braces. Modern wires are far less noticeable than in the past, since they are thinner and apply very light forces to teeth.Theselatest wires, made of super-elastic materials, move teeth gently and fast, with comfort similar to natural eruption. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces! Our patinets rangefrom 8 to 80 years of age!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, growth and habit changes, treatment method, and how minor or severe your bite problemis. A big factor insuccessful and timely treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For childrenreceiving interceptive(usually early, limited), treatment, orthodontic care is typically for a short time andwill provide a much better end result after a second, finishing phase of therapyat an older age.
