Our approach to orthodontics is to preserve all teeth for a broader fuller smile and an aesthetic facial profile. We straighten teeth without extracting teeth to create space. We create the necessary space for all teeth to be straightened by expanding the arches holding the teeth. Using principles of expansion we can create the exact space required to hold the teeth permanently over time. A philosophy of some practitioners is to extract permanent teeth in order to gain space for straightening. We are aware that some jaw formations and situations of crowding might require the removal of permanent teeth. When presented with patients in this situation, we will refer them to an orthodontic specialist.
We believe that good orthodontic care will result in straight teeth and better smiles. We strive to eliminate any discomfort and minimize the inconvenience of orthodontic care. Patients are generally willing to endure some inconvenience for the benefits derived from creating an improved smile. The length of treatment and the number of visits are usually the most inconvenient aspects of care. In about a year and in about seven visits teeth can be straightened and a better smile created. This is our forte. This is our message. We will straighten your teeth and make you smile in less than the usual 24 months, usually in about one year.
Because white teeth are the center of attraction in a smile, we recommend patients have their teeth whitened after the orthodontic care is completed. Bright white teeth make a huge difference when making a great smile.
Dr. Craig Pettey is a general dentist practicing orthodontics. He has had extensive training with over twenty years of practicing orthodontics. He is a member of the American Orthodontic Society and other local and national dental organizations. He has helped hundreds of adults, teenagers and children have straighter teeth. He has been recognized for his commitment to dentistry and continuing education. He has been awarded the recognition of Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. This recognition has been awarded to only one percent of his dental peers.
Early in his dental career Dr. Pettey recognized deficiencies in the standard of care being delivered to orthodontic patients. This perked his interests in orthodontics and smile design. He fulfilled these interests through further education and training in different philosophies of straightening teeth. Now, today, these philosophies are widely accepted by general dentists and orthodontists alike. The resulting smiles of patients treated with the expansion philosophy have greatly improved smiles created today.
As a general dentist practicing orthodontics, Dr. Pettey has the back ground and experience in restorative and cosmetic dentistry to create great smiles. A great smile is the result of straight white teeth, healthy gums and skin, full lips and classic profiles. Each of these characteristics requires principles of beauty collaborating to create an appealing smile. Dr. Pettey has the understanding of these principles to be able to work with other professionals, when needed, to perfect ones smile.
Dr. Pettey and his wife, Nann, have three children and seven grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and spoiling their little ones. The children are spread from out from Italy to Singapore. The family enjoys many sports. Their accomplishments range from championship teams to hole-in-ones to marathons and triathlons. Photography has become a necessary hobby in order to capture and preserve the fun being experienced.

I transferred from a different ortho since I moved down here to The Woodlands. Dr Petty and the staff are so kind ! They really want the best for you and make suggestions to make you feel included in the decisions as well. They take their time when treating you and it's much better than my old ortho, so it's nice how much they care and meticulous they are. I love my smile since it's been a journey and I thank them for it all

I visited tons of Ortho's before making my choice and this has been the best decision I've made. The entire staff has been friendly from day 1 (I've been going here for over 2 years). Dr. Petty has been very upfront and informative from the beginning. I would always recommend them.

Walked in 2 years ago, with not so perfect teeth. Skipped out today with a full smile. The staff is extremely friendly, kind, experienced and prompt. I had a great experience, from the payments to the appointments to the actual work being done. They will work with you on payments if you are willing to meet their needs, they will meet yours. We shook hands and not a lot of businesses are like that these days. Dr Pettey is a man of his word. Best advice to someone, just go for a consultation if nothing else. They will deliver on their end, make sure you deliver on yours.

Dr. Pettey, his assistant Kerrah, and all of the other staff are absolutely amazing! All are friendly, professional, and caring! They take time to work with you, explain everything, and help ensure you end up with a perfect healthy smile! After searching and going through one nightmare after another- for 2 years, for a orthodontist who cared more about my child's smile, than the financial aspect- Dr. Petteys office was an absolute breath of fresh air! I highly recommend WVB to everyone- adults and children! Clean Facilities!

Woodlands Village Braces is a great place to get your braces done. The staff are great. And Dr. Pettey offers free consultations and if you like what you see, then you can do both traditional and Invisalign with him. I did the Invisalign and am very happy with the results. I would recommend his office anyone who wants to get their braces or any dental cleaning and whitening. They take most kind of insurance and they have monthly plans.
