During his undergraduate education at Utah State University, Dr. Hearne met his wife, Naomi. After completing his education at USU, Dr. Hearne earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery(DDS)degree after 4 years of training at Creighton University School of Dentistry in May, 1997. He then completed a one-year advanced General Practice Residency program at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in June, 1998 while working part time as an Associate Dentist in a private practice.
Dr. Hearne, a Utah general dentist, started Woodland Park Dental in August, 1998 and continues to build a very successful practice today. Dr. Hearne is constantly striving to provide a painless experience for his patients with the use of parenteral and oral sedation and other techniques and technologies which enable him to achieve these results.
Through his unceasing commitment to learning and professional development Dr. Hearne received an Honorary Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in Washington, DC in July, 2005. The Fellowship, in conjunction with memberships in the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Painless Dentistry, and the Weber District Dental Society, demonstrates his dedication to education and improvement for his patients benefit.
Dr. Hearnes commitment to his community goes far beyond the dental chair. He currently serves in the Boy Scouts of America as an adult trainer in Wood Badge courses (training for adult Cub and Boy Scout Leaders) and is currently serving as a leader for the eleven year old Boy Scouts.

I love everyone at woodland Park dental! They have a beautiful office and the latest and greatest state of the art equipment. They are so caring about every single detail. They go out of their way to make you feel confident in their abilities and comfortable while working on you. They have a very friendly staff and yet, are wonderfully professional. Pain was not managed for a tooth extraction and bone graft. I tried to tell them I was hurting but kept getting told just one more stitch hold on just a minute. I had tears streaming down my face, I almost threw up from the pain. When I was finally able to communicate how much pain I was in, the procedure was finished, they apologized and then put in more numbing stuff, but whatever they did, didn't make anything more numb it just continued to ache and hurt so bad. I said I was still hurting, but it seemed like they thought I was just being a baby about the pain and that it would go numb soon. I left the office with no resolution. I got on the freeway to pick up my daughter, the pain intensified so much, I was nauseous again, I was shaking, I thought I was going to get in a car accident. I called them and they told me to take ibuprofen when I could. My husband spoke to them and they wrote a prescription for the pain, but stamped it with a rubber stamp instead of signing it, after an hour wait at the pharmacy, he was informed that, they could not accept that prescription. The procedure was on a Friday, so I called the emergency number, both dentists were out of town for the weekend. No one could help or fix the prescription. My face is huge and swollen, I have been in tons of pain, I had a baby 3 weeks ago and through all of labor and a Cesarean, and the healing after, I didn't feel nearly as much pain as I felt during this procedure. It is now Monday and I finally got the prescription to get some pain meds. Other experiences at this same dental office have been fantastic they have great dental assistants and staff, Everyone is super friendly but they just didn't help when I was in so much pain.

Woodland dental is great. Their staff are consistently awesome with great bedside manner. They also work to humanize the experience in any way they can, are patient, and caring. They're clearly passionate about oral care. I don't feel judged for the help I've needed, I actually feel encouraged and emboldened to do better for my oral care. 6 out of 5 stars if I could!

I went for my cleaning again and this time it was Jeanie ... she was absolutely amazing ! The new addition Dr. Christensen is awesome .At this clinic you can't go wrong !!! Woodland Dental is absolutely AWESOME! Even though I live in California, I choose to come to Utah for all my dental work because of how I'm cared for by Dr. Hearne and ALL of his staff. Everyone is so kind and friendly, but most importantly they make sure I am completely comfortable for all of my procedures. They make painless dentistry a reality, and for that I am so grateful. I recently completed extensive work with Dr. Hearns and his awesome team. I had significant phobia about going to the dentist, but the team at Woodland Park Dental was so professional, friendly and empathetic that it made my experience a really positive one. Natalie did my cleaning and was absolutely amazing in her communication and positive feedback, not to mention she did incredible work. I never thought I would be writing a positive review about a dentist visit, but I would not hesitate to recommend this team to everyone.
