During this time, you should think about a tooth replacement option. An extracted tooth leaves an open area in the jaw, which, in time, allows the neighboring teeth to drift into space that the extracted tooth occupied, provoking a disruption to the surrounding teeth.

Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to erupt into the mouth. Wisdom teeth typically appear around a person's mid-twenties but can erupt much later. If the wisdom teeth don't have enough space, symptoms can occur. The wisdom teeth may only partially erupt or might not come through at all. Dentists designate wisdom teeth 'impacted' if they are wholly or partly blocked from eruption into the mouth. The tooth may lie at an angle and remain tipped against an adjacent tooth. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause problems like pain and swelling; The mouth could ache when stretched open wide, or it may be challenging to open your mouth. Tenderness when chewing and biting may occur. Earaches may develop from the spread of pain in the mouth. Symptoms may be intermittent but can begin anytime without warning. If you are experiencing symptoms, it is best to get treatment 'usually removal' as soon as possible to avoid potentially expensive and painful complications.

Do you consider your teeth as living things? They contain nerves, living tissues, and our mouth produces bacteria. They are always active with chewing, biting, talking, and grinding. Dental problems are hardly enjoyable, but on the bright side, most are preventable. Brushing twice a day, flossing daily, regular check-ups, and proper eating is important for preventing future dental problems. The more you know the healthier and cleaner your mouth will be.

Just because baby teeth arent permanent doesnt mean that they should be neglected! Their tooth enamel is 50% thinner than the enamel on adult teeth. When it starts to decay it will cause more damage faster. Tooth decay is caused by bacteria using sugar from foods and drinks to create acid that deteriorates your teeth.

Are your kids thumb suckers? It is a natural self-soothing reflex for them. Its a hard habit to break but the earlier you try to get them to stop, the easier. After permanent teeth come in it can cause problems with the palatal growth and teeth alignment.

Did you know that about 75% of teens need orthodontic treatment after their adult teeth have grown in? Common problems are teeth being overcrowded, crooked, or having a lot of space in between them. Misplaced teeth are more challenging to clean and maintain leading to problems down the road.

Does your teenager play contact sports? More than 200,000 injuries to the mouth and jaw occur every year. Protect them with a mouth guard! Be sure to keep it clean by rinsing and leaving it in the container when not actively using it.

Avoid oral piercings! A tongue or other mouth piercings can easily chip teeth when asleep, eating, or talking. After the piercing, many experience swelling, which can lead to infections or trouble opening and closing your mouth to speak and eat.

We have a third set of molars, known as wisdom teeth that typically emerge after the rest of our adult teeth. They can cause pain and create crowding leading to more dental problems in the future. 85% of adults have their wisdom teeth removed. They are often harder to clean leaving them more susceptible to tooth decay.

Have you been dreaming of a bright white smile? One of the most common dental cosmetic procedures is teeth whitening. As you get older tooth discoloration occurs from constant exposure to certain foods and drinks. This can be done only after they are cleaned and cavity free. Otherwise, the whitening solution can penetrate the inner part of the tooth causing pain and sensitivity to those unhealthy teeth.

The average adult between the ages of 20 and 64 have three or more decayed or missing teeth. Your jaw is constructed to function with 28 teeth, once one goes missing neighboring teeth begin to drift into the vacant space. This makes your good teeth more prone to decay and gum disease. After you lose a tooth, the bone around it begins to shrink over time altering your face leading to that sunken jaw look.

Dental implants are popular because they look and feel like your natural teeth. They are also the new standard of care. With good oral hygiene, they can last up to 20 years or more. A bridge consists of both a false tooth with the support of two abutment crowns. Think of them as bridging the gap left by the missing tooth.

There are several types of dentures; partial, complete, and implant supported. A partial replaces some of your teeth using surrounding teeth as an anchor. A complete denture is removable and replaces all teeth. Implant supported dentures are recommended if you have a healthy jaw for support and would like a more secure fit.

Bacteria flourish in a dark and wet environment that contains plenty of sugar which is why your mouth is usually their home. Without regular maintenance, they tend to stick around and create plaque on your teeth causing tooth decay and gum disease. Take care of your teeth, you only get one set!

Both Dr. Ralli and Dr. Ralli are good dentists. I LOVE Carmen and Jennifer the hygienists. But the front desk lady, I think her name is Danielle, needs some customer service lessons. I walk in, she does not greet me. She asks for proof on insurance, that's it. She doesn't say, 'Thank you. I have you all checked in.' or say my name to acknowledge or even smile at me. I remember the old front desk person Barbie....sigh what a wonderful kind, helpful person she was.

Danielle has horrible customer service. She is really rude and very unfriendly. She canceled my appointment just because I didn't call her back and my appointment wasn't until 2 more weeks out. It seemed like she was upset for no unknown reason. My girlfriend has been going to this location for many years and she states that the assistants are very friendly but the receptionist has always been so rude. I would had wished to had met the assistant but not after what I experienced with Danielle.

Upon 7:59am opening, was greeted by a very upbeat personality. My dental technician that completed my teeth cleaning was very congenial and efficient in my bi-annual teeth cleaning.

Very impressed!!! The staff here are so personable and nice! I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in the door. They made my filling so much more comfortable than ones I have had in the past. It is nice to feel like a friend instead of just a patient when you interact with the staff there. I am thankful I came here for my dental care and definitely would recommend coming here for your dental needs!

First time I've ever been to Woodcreek dentistry. Jen, was the best hygienist I've ever had. She cleaned my teeth so good. I walked out of there feeling fantastic. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The doctor came in to see me and gave me a clean bill of health. I've made my next appointment for six months from now. Love this new dentist. I would recommend woodcreek and Dentistry to anyone.
