The office of Wood Family Dentistry accepts a variety of dental insurance carriers and is more than happy to submit all insurance claims for you free of charge. Please note that not all of our dental services may be covered by insurance. Some insurance policies may only cover preventative dental care while others may cover cosmetic dental care. This will be discussed with you prior to beginning services.

Dr. Wood moved to Arizona from the North east coast in 1958, with his parents and four brothers, and their family quickly put down roots. He grew up in Tempe, attending Broadmor Elementary, McKemy Jr. High and Tempe High School. He graduated from ASU in 1972 with a BA in Education and a BS in Chemistry. While at ASU, he played on the tennis team and joined the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity; and has maintained many friendships from his high school and college days.

He graduated from the University of the Pacific Dental School in 1976 and enjoyed living in the Bay Area. But when his children became school age, he made the move back to Tempe in 1983 to start his dental practice.

Dr. Wood has put together a team of experienced, caring staff that shares his desire to provide quality family dental care which includes cosmetics, implants and orthodontics. He feels his success has been in the relationships he has built with his patients, achieved through a high standard of care and honesty.

Dr. Amor is a compassionate dentist who has been working in the dental field since 2013. She graduated from Kalamazoo College with a bachelors in chemistry and business and she received her dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2018.

An active member in the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Ascend Study Club, Dr. Amor has also been volunteering for Mission of Mercy since 2018.

Dr. Amor was born and raised in Michigan but after she graduated from dental school, she packed up her Jeep, and moved across the country to beautiful sunny Arizona. Dr. Amor is now engaged to an Arizona native, Christian Spencer. Christian and Dr. Amor love being active; they frequently go hiking, rock climbing and biking. Dr. Amor also loves to do yoga and play volleyball in her free time.

Kim is another one of our team members who is a Michigan transplant, moving here in 1968. She began her career as a dental assistant in 1996 after working for years as stay-at-home Mom to her three daughters. We were very fortunate to have her join our staff in 2010. Kim has a gentle touch and an innate ability to put patients fears to rest. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry and willing to take the time to explain procedures fully and answer any questions.

In her off time, Kim strives to stay fit. She practices Yoga, swims laps and enjoys running; participating in several marathons. Shes also back in the Mommy business; now raising her grandson, Braydon, who she says keeps me young. When not busy with family or work, she enjoys spending time in the kitchen, trying new recipes. She became Mrs. Fred Wood when she and Dr. Wood were married at their home in October of 2013. Life for them is about family and work; both of which they are very committed to.

When you call the office or walk in our door, you will be greeted with a warm smile by Harlene. As an Arizona native, Harlene grew up in South Scottsdale, attended her freshman year at Scottsdale High School then relocated and graduated from Gilbert. High. She graduated from The Bryman School for dental front office and assisting in 1978 and has remained in the dental field her entire career. Harlene has invaluable knowledge of insurance and financing.

Harlene and her husband, Eddie, have two grown children as well as four grandchildren. Although she resides in the Valley of the Sun, she loves the Rim Country and when not volunteering locally at St. Vincent de Pauls Thrift Store, she volunteers in Heber/Overgaard at the Catholic Thrift Store. Harlenes other passions are traveling, bowling and occasional casino trips.
