Wolken Family Dental is owned and operated by third generation Wolken dentists, Dr. Chris and Dr. Andy. Throughout the generations, we have remained at the forefront of dental technology and continued to help patients achieve optimal health through exceptional care. Dr. Donald Wolken founded the practice in 1939 in small-town Clayton, Missouri, following graduation from Saint Louis University Dental School. After serving in World War II, he was elected president of the St. Louis County Dental Society. His son, Dr. Steven, joined the practice after graduating from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, in 1974. He and his wife, Joan, grew the practice while raising their six children. Dr. Steve served as vice president of the Clayton Chamber for ten years and as a Clayton alderman for six years. He remains an integral part of the practice.

Located west of downtown Clayton, we primarily serve residents and families of Clayton, Richmond Heights, University City, Olivette and the Clayton business district. Dr. Andy graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School in 2008 and joined his father and brother at Wolken Family Dental that same year. Dr. Andy provides high-quality, comprehensive dental care and is certified on a wide range of services, including full mouth restoration, oral surgery (including implant placement), sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment, and orthodontics using Invisalign. He is recognized as one of St. Louis top dentists.
Dr. Andy has donated his time and expertise to international missionary work. He has provided care to tribes in Zambia, Africa. He and his wife, Katie, also a dentist, served families in Guatemala without access to dental services. Dr. Andy and Katie have three children and are passionate about their community.
Dr. Chris graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Dental School in 2003. He then joined the practice, creating the third generation of Wolken family dentists. Going beyond his primary dental care training, Dr. Chris completed a dental implant residency for placement and restoration of dental implants and has been trained to diagnose and treat sleep apnea. He is certified to perform orthodontics as an Invisalign Preferred Provider.
Dr. Chris provides high quality, full scope dental care with an emphasis on comprehensive full mouth rehabilitation and has been recognized as one of Saint Louis Top Dentists. Dr. Chris and his wife live in Olivette with their 3 children. He is an active participant in Missouri Donated Dental Care and provides free dental care for underserved children in the community. Dr. Chris was recently honored with the Hero Award for his ongoing commitment to the Give Kids a Smile organization. Dr. Chris enjoys volunteering at schools to promote dental health in children and supporting organizations that support the health and well-being of the community.
Our expertise in dental care and our compassion for patients spans beyond the walls of our office, and has taken us all over the globe. Its our privilege and responsibility to support local and international charities, churches, and schools with time and funds. We have worked with the homeless and travelled on international missions trips to provide dental care and comfort to those in extreme need. We host educational opportunities for students in training. In 2014, we were awarded the Excellence in Retail Award by the Clayton Chamber of Commerce for more than 75 years of continued service helping to better our community.

Going to the dentist isn't my favorite thing to do (apologies if it is your thing) but if you're looking for a professional, friendly, family-run practice, go with Wolken. The facilities are quite impressive, the technology is cutting edge, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and caring. They never pressure you into doing anything you don't want to do, and the location and hours are super convenient.

This was the best experience I've had with a dentist; the staff were SO WELCOMING and FRIENDLY, the office was very clean and organized and I Immediately felt safe and comfortable. Megan who did my X-rays and scans told me what she was doing as she did it to assure maximum comfort, she was very knowledgable and answered all my questions! Chris, the doctor who came in after her, gave really good advice and was very kind and made me feel a part of the community through asking about me rather than getting straight to the business. Although, he was very thorough and helpful with the dental info passed along! A wonderful woman was also very accommodating and kind who checked my gums; again, the entire staff were so friendly, helpful, and professional. They made you feel very listened to and heard, very much like a real person rather than patient! But also clearly experts in their field! The office is very clean and bright and feels safe, contrary to most medical buildings! I loved this experience, the best experience ive had, and am looking forward to coming back.

I have been with this dentist for longer than I can remember. Has to have been over 15 years and they are the BEST. I have felt like I was at home when I came in. The staff is outstanding and willing to help in any way they can. I cannot recommend this dentistry any more. If you have dental needs please give them a try and you will not be disappointed!

Dr. Andy Wolken changed my life. Literally. I am so grateful to have him as my dentist. Dr. Andy brought to my attention health issues I had, that no other doctor had ever addressed. Then he recommended the appropriate doctors to help me. Now I've been able to find the root cause of what was causing numerous health issues I was having. I was looking for a new dentist and narrowed it down to Wolken and two others. I'm so glad I chose Wolken Family Dental. The ladies at the front desk were extremely welcoming and helpful the moment I walked in. Check in was fairly easy along with check out. My first initial appointment was mostly X-rays, photos & intake and the dental hygienist that I had was incredibly nice, attentive and made me feel comfortable(I can't remember her name :/) When I finally got to the end of my appointment and met Dr. Andy he was very personable and straight to the point about things. I've been going to the dentist faithfully since I could remember and there were things I learned about my dental health that I feel like if I hadn't switched, I'd still be having some "unknown" issues. Overall, if I could give them 10 stars, I would! Thank you Dr. Andy & team!

Best dental experience! In the past I've had fear of going to the dentist. Coming to Wolken over the past few years has considerably improved my dental experience and I no longer fear dentist appointments. They offer sedation dentistry so my cleanings are easier. All of the staff and dentists are very professional and so nice to patients. Highly recommend!

We love Dr. Andy! He is awesome with everyone in our family, ages 2 to grown ups. My kids actually enjoy going to the dentist. I've had to have a couple of fillings and it's been quick and painless. Wolken Dental is a friendly, welcoming place with quality staff offering excellent dental care.

Such a friendly and professional staff. It was Charleigh Maes first cleaning and as you can imagine a 3 year old being a little apprehensive and the experience was awesome. Diana and Dr.Andy made her feel comfortable and positive about seeing the dentist. Highly recommend Wolken Family Dental !!
