Dr. Joe was born in Chicago, IL. He attended high school at one of Chicago's oldest, Catholic schools, Saint Patrick High School (Chicago, IL) and graduated from Maine South High School (Park Ridge, IL).
Dr. Joe can be considered a Hoosier by common law, given that he attended Indiana University for both his undergraduate and dental degrees. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana UniversityBloomington, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry. He then returned to Chicago where he practiced general dentistry in private practice for more than fiveyears before deciding to pursue his dream of becoming an orthodontist. Dr. Joe spent threeyears in Manhattan at New York University, where he completed his residency and obtained his specialty certificate in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. While at NYU, he completed research on non-pharmaceutical interventions for accelerating orthodontic tooth movement.
Dr. Joe and his wife Kristen, have 3 young sons: Joey, Dominick and Vinny. He loves spending time with his family, and enjoys traveling andsports. Every summer he sails with family, joining over 350 other sailboats, in the Race to Mackinac Island from Chicago. He is a fan of the Hoosiers, Bears, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks... and he has admittedly jumped on the Irish bandwagon living and working so close to Notre Dame!
Dr. Joe is active in organized dentistry. He maintains membership in the American Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, the Indiana Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, the North Central Dental Society, the Mishawaka Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. He is also board-eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Joe constantly strives for excellence and continued learning participating in educational opportunities on an almost weekly basis.

Dr Wnek has been amazing! My son has some other health issues and Dr Wnek has gone out of his way to help coordinate care with the ENT and jaw doctor. I have never experienced such communication. He is always more than willing to take the time to talk to the parent and answer any questions. I would recommend him to anyone!

I couldn't be happier with the level of care I received during my two and a half year ortho treatment. Dr. Wnek and staff are friendly, professional, and always made me feel comfortable with the progress of my treatment. I am incredibly happy with my teeth! Absolutely not. Who the heck are you to talk to me about my child's ADHD meds and how you wouldn't want your kids on them. Stay in your lane and fix teeth. Don't dabble in areas you aren't knowledgeable about. Also what kind of ortho consult doesn't take X-rays to completely see what's going on.

Both of my girls have had their braces here and we are so pleased. We started with Dr. Eberhardt and transited to Dr. Wenk. Dr. Wnek and staff are wonderful, always keeping me informed on possible issues and how the progress is going. I would 100% recommend going with them if you need braces!

I am 31 years old and I never liked my smile growing up due to my crooked teeth, so I decided to get braces. I only had to have them for a total of fifteen months. This place is horrible it's like they just started working on ur braces or whatever they never cut the end of my wire and it's been bleeding for the past 2 days non stop and there closed so I have to go to the dentist. DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE HELL ON EARTH.
