Dr. Whitehead was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Central Florida as a teenager. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Florida State University, she attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where she earned her DMD degree. Dr. Whitehead elected to do an additional year of training (General Practice Residency) at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, she gained extensive knowledge and experience in emergency situations, dental surgery, IV sedation, implant dentistry, and treating medically compromised patients. After another year of private practice in South Carolina, she moved back to Florida and practiced in Winter Springs for about five years.
Dr. Whitehead stays up to date with the latest dental products and techniques by attending continuing education courses throughout each year. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Central Florida District Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando.
She resides in the Winter Park area with her husband of nine years, James, and their three dogs. In her free time, Dr, Whitehead enjoys attending Orlando City soccer games, Florida State Seminoles football games, and doing CrossFit training.
