KateHygienistKate was raised in Littleton, NH at a time when there was only one stop light in town. She attended New Hampshire Technical Institute for three years and began her dental hygiene career in Lincoln, NH. Kate enjoyed her twenties in Lincoln, where she met her husband, Nate. Their names rhyme...it was meant to be. Kate received her Bachelor's degree in Pre-Dental at Plymouth State University in 2006, the same year she was married. Kate is a mom of three children and loves it! She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, and long walks, especially if these activities involve her family. Kate also really enjoys talking about flossing...she can't help it, she loves her job!

Anni HygienistAnni is a lifelong native of Gilford, NH, moving back after she graduated from the NHTI Dental Hygiene program in 2012. She joined the Winnisquam Dental team in 2015 and couldnt be happier. Anni loves to ski, hike, and bike. When Anni isnt outdoors, she loves traveling near and far. Anni keeps herself busy working on her house, working out, and spending time with her wonderful friends and family and ornery bunny named Hank.

KimHygienistKim has been in the dental field for over 25 yrs. She began her career on the beautiful island of Oahu, volunteering for a Red Cross discovery program focused on Dental Assisting. From there, she took her training to a private practice in Honolulu. It is while working there, she decided she wanted to experience college life, so she packed up her swimsuit and moved back to NH (so cold) to attend NHTIs Dental Hygiene program. After practicing for several years, Kim returned to NHTI to obtain her certification to administer local anesthesia. Kim has resided in Sanbornton for 20+ years, where she has built a crazy, beautiful life with her husband and their three very active children. When the calendar allows, she enjoys decorating, theater, running (she has participated in a few Reach the Beach Relays and run a couple half marathons), hiking, and the beachlife, spending as time as possible in Wells, ME during the summer.

JoleneHygienistJolene has been a practicing dental hygienist for 22 years. She grew up in Lincoln NH and she learned at an early age to love all things nature and outdoors. She loves to be outside hiking with her dogs in all seasons. She is also the mom of two awesome teenage boys.

ReneeOffice ManagerArmy Veteran and mother of 2, a patient of Winnisquam Dental since 2007, Renee joined the WD team in 2016. HeatherScheduling CoordinatorHeather has been in the dental field for over 22 years! Dentistry was something she fell into after studying travel and tourism business in Pittsburg, PA. She lives in Concord with her husband Jeff, son Jackson and occasionally their daughter Zoe who just started college. Almost empty nesters! In her spare time, she loves to nap, spend time with her family, attend concerts, camp, read, craft and of course, travel!

AlishaDental AssistantAlisha got her start in dentistry in 2016 and has loved it ever since! So much in fact, she is currently taking classes in dental hygiene! When Alisha isn 't assisting the doctors ' she can be found with her husband and their two boys. She enjoys kayaking, family photography, and just being silly! One of their favorite family games is called 'No and Not listening' . It is very popular with their 2 year old. Alisha looks forward to helping you at your next visit to our practice.

Thanks for visiting our website, let me tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in Concord, North Carolina, just a stones throw from the Charlotte Motor Speedway. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels!), I took a year off my studies to serve a year with Habitat for Humanity Americorps in Columbia, South Carolina. From there it was the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where I met my wife Dr Kris (the first day!).

After graduation, Kristine and I felt a strong calling to serve, as well as expand our clinical experience. The Navajo Indian Reservation was the perfect fit. There we developed a real passion for public health, as well as gained experience in all aspects of dentistry. When it came time to settle down and start a family, New Hampshire seemed the perfect place. We love the outdoor pursuits and small town feel this area offers.

So why entrust your dental needs with me? I truly have your best interests in mind. I strive to treat each of my patients as if they were a member of my family, and I do not take the trust you have put in me lightly. I also look to implement the latest technology, while also relying on sound principles that have served our profession well for many years.

I am a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the New Hampshire Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. I have served as a trustee on the board of the New Hampshire Dental Society Foundation, the charitable arm of the NHDS. Outside of the dental world, I am an active member of the Gilford Community Church and I also enjoy coaching youth soccer (my favorite sport) for Lakes Region United soccer club.

I knew as a kid I wanted to be a dentist. Weird but true. I was a dental assistant at 16. After dental school, Derek and I went into public health, serving the beautiful people of the Navajo Nation through the Indian Health Service. We are public health minded through and through. Our methods are evidence based and we strive for the most current and effective treatments. Though concentrating on the mouth, we work with our patients to understand the interconnections of the entire body. So why would you want to bring your kiddos to see me? Well, I'm a mom. That means, first and foremost, I am blessed with two little lives whom I hope to nourish into good people. So I understand the trust it takes to allow me into your lives.

I truly adore every little person who hops in my chair. I really do. Working with kids is so fun! I learn lessons from them daily.Parents are welcome into the operatory to see and hear everything that's going on. No closed doors!

Are you still reading? Wow! Well, here's some more about what makes me tick... I love dentistry. I love practicing dentistry and I love being a member of organized dentistry. I'm a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry and of course the awesome New Hampshire Dental Society. I attend CE regularly, not just to get a break from my kids, but also to keep my knowledge and techniques current.

But mainly, what makes me tick, are my kiddos. They're funny and sweet and clever and wonderfully sarcastic like their mother. They're truly amazing. All kids are, aren't they? And that's why I think it's a real privilege to work with them every day!

Wonderful dental practice! The doctors are amazing! Dr. B is thoughtful and attentive. Dr Kris is amazing with the kiddos. My children have always seen Dr Kris. When my, then, 8 year old needed restorative work, Dr Kris was kind, patient and caring. The front desk staff are cheerful and friendly as are the hygienists.

I recently transferred myself and my family to Winnisquam dental and I am nothing but pleased with the doctors and hygienists and their skills they have so far offered. I am also very impressed with the communication and over all friendliness in the office along with the ease of scheduling appointments. Overall I would highly recommend Winnisquam Dental.

Refusing to see my daughter further claiming she has dental anxiety. My daughter told the dentist Kristine Blackwelder that was not true that it hurt a little. They're forcing her to see a new doctor. Also she has a wound on her lip where she was jabbed by a pick. They failed to mention her lip was bleeding. They were also 25 mins late for her appt

What an amazing family dentistry! I could not be any more impressed with the service and treatment for both my children and myself. The kindness and dedication to their patients is what any family would hope for in a dentist office .This office makes us feel so comfortable and welcomed everytime we go. Best dental experience we've ever had!

My family and I got dismissed from winnisquam dental. I missed an appointment that I didn't even remember I had because they schedule six months ahead of time and I had a lot going on then my husband missed an appointment because of a surgery he got and didn't reschedule he was new there and didn't know they charge you 80$ for missing an appointment. So then they said I owed over 200$ and we can't go there until paid. My husband then got upset and said he wasn't paying it. Today I called to see if they do payment plans and they said we were dismissed because of attendance. They didn't even bother to tell me we got dismissed or try to work something out with me to try and get the balance paid. This is the worst experience and I would not recommend anyone to go there. Seriously 80$ for not going to an appointment I have never had that anywhere we have went ever. We are not rich and I have two children ages 1 and 3. Your seriously going to kick two children out who did nothing wrong that's outrageous. I can't believe they would do that to two innocent children. Find a different dentist!

This has got to be the worst dental office ever. The dentist walks in examines my teeth and walks out without even a basic greeting of Hello no verbal assessment of any issues I have. Unfriendly. I think the worst thing was recently I was sick an in the ICU at the hospital. Unfortunately I missed an appointment with them ( I have been with them 2 years and never missed an appointment.) I recieved a hostile letter from them telling me I owed $100 for the appointment and I was no longer a patient. When I called and told them I was ill they did agree to not charge. I mentioned that I had never missed an appointment before and the reponse was " doesn't matter" I am so not returning to this practice

Winnisquam Dental is the best! Their professionalism, knowledge and courtesy makes them who they are. The doctors, hygienists and staff make you feel like family the moment you walk thru the door. Dr. Kris and Dr. Derek are a great team. They both make sure all your questions and concerns are answered and you have a good understanding about what is going on. Their office is very clean and they follow all the protocols to make sure you are in good hands.

We have been with Winnisquam Dental since 2004 and have been very pleased with the practice. We have always been warmly welcomed in a clean environment. We've seen many of the dental hygienists and have recommended them to others. We've had great experiences with both Dr. Kris and Dr. Blackwelder, they have worked together with us to come up with treatment plans. Communication has been top notch!

My children have been going to Dr. Kris since they were 2 years old, they are now 12 and 10. They LOVE going to the dentist; the staff is so welcoming and knowledgeable, and actually get them to floss, which is a miracle! We can't imagine going anywhere else. We love Dr Kris and staff at Winnisquam Dental!

Cannot say enough how much I appreciate this place. Had a distressing dental experience at another dentist. Changed quickly and these guys are awesome. Glad I found them!

Nervous as heck for my first appointment, but the staff was super-friendly, not judgmental, and gentle with me. I hadn't been in years, but no one lectured me, just helped me figure out a dental plan that worked for me.
