Dr. Erin Issac, a board-certified pediatric dentist and native of Monroeville, PA, is excited to bring a fun, fresh dental experience to the children of Pittsburgh. Dr. Erin will work closely with you to understand the importance of dental health, prevention of cavities and determine the best way to treat your child if dental decay arises. After all, every kid is unique, so their trip to the dentist should be too!
After graduating from Gateway High School, Dr. Erin went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her hard work during college paid off as she was rewarded with a scholarship to attend the prestigious Ivy League, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, in Philadelphia, which is consistently ranked amongst the best in the nation. It was there that she found her passion for caring for children. To further her knowledge of dentistry for kids, Dr. Erin continued her education with a rigorous residency program at the nationally ranked Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where she earned a certificate in pediatric dentistry. She has been working throughout the Pittsburgh area since then. Because of her top notch training, Dr. Erin is well versed in areas such as preventive and restorative dentistry, dentistry for special needs and medically complex children, dental emergencies/trauma, interceptive orthodontics, oral surgery and behavior guidance. She is able to provide these services in various capacities, both in the office and at an outpatient surgery center.
Previous experience working in a hospital has made Dr. Erin truly believe that dental health effects overall health and vice versa; therefore, she is able to work effectively with other medical professionals when needed. Even her research interests include studying the effects of common pediatric health conditions, namely asthma, on teeth and the oral cavity. She routinely attends continuing education courses, ensuring that the most current dental procedures, equipment and information are implemented in the office so that treatment provided to her patients is the best possible. She also belongs to several professional societies, enjoys educating local churches, schools and organizations about oral health and participating in charity based events.
Besides making kids smile, Dr. Erin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching and playing sports (GO STEELERS!), cooking and trying out new restaurants around the city, photography--all of the office photos found in the gallery were shot by Dr. Erin herself, fashion modeling, empowering young girls to be whatever the want to be and traveling the globe. Adults are required to wear a mask inside of our dental home. Kids, especially those over 3, that are able to tolerate wearing a mask are asked to wear one inside as well. We cant wait to see their cute masks!

Everyone knows that little straw that sucks all the water out of your mouth at the dentists office, but did you know that it typically takes gallons of water to make it work? Thats rightGALLONS! Typical suction systems use water to create enough energy to make a vacuum of sorts. Here at Winning Smiles, we went with the newest technology that uses no water but high pressure air to suck out all of that liquid and debris, keeping everything dry....not to mention keeping our earth a little happier.
In most situations we're able to talk kids of all ages through exams and cleanings. Some kids, however, may need a little additional help if more extensive treatment (like fillings, crowns or more) is needed. Here's how we can help!
Nitrous Oxide For the slightly anxious patient or a young one needing help to sit in the chair long enough for completion of treatment, nitrous oxide can be used. Also called laughing gas, it is an extremely safe, effective and rapid acting gas that is inhaled via a small mask placed over your childs nose. As the gas enters their lungs, patients often feel tingly, floaty, and more relaxed overall. After treatment is finished, the gas rapidly escapes from the body, and your daughter or son can resume their normal activity.

This is a GREAT dental practice. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and nice. They all strike a perfect balance of being able to communicate with the children on their level, while also communicating effectively with the parents. The office is set up in a very child-friendly way. My 8 year old son was very comfortable and calm during his entire visit. Highly recommended for any parents looking for a great pediatric dental practice.

My kids love this place and now I see why! To say I was impressed would be an understatement! Extremely friendly, professional, organized, efficient and clean! I wish I could give this business 10 stars! I would highly recommend! A few years later and my first review still stands strong! My kids still like going to the dentist, 8 & 12 yr olds. We drive over an hour every 6 months for our kids cleanings/exams and will continue to do so! We are so happy with her and her growing staff! Our kids are comfortable there and have confidence when going to the dentist and that's what matters most to us!

We LOVE Dr. Erin!! Though we are a good ways away in distance, we took a chance based on other reviews. We're so glad we did!! We have been going to Winning Smiles for around four years and have never had anything but a wonderful experience! The staff is friendly and helpful and take their time to explain everything they're doing and anything we should expect at future appointments. The office is very clean, organized and inviting! The experience we had exceeded my expectations! I was on the hunt for preventative care for my littles and it has been a long wait due to the post pandemic catch up! The exterior and interior was beautiful. It was clean with open space and an immaculate ventilation system! They even had a little play space with a chalkboard and tv for the kids to hang out until their cleanings. They made the cleanings personable and fun! We will remain here until their adulthood LOL! We were able to get our kids their first checkup on short notice. Everyone, from front desk, hygienists, and Dr. Erin were extremely nice, knowledgeable and professional. They took a lot of time with us and answered all of our questions. My son now wants to go there every Thursday.
