Dr. Brent Jordan Frey grew up in metropolitan Detroit and attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate studies and dental school education. During college, he earned a spot on the Varsity Wrestling team, as a walk on. QS World Rankings recently honored the University of Michigan as the #1 public school in the US and the School of Dentistry as the #1 dental school in the US and #2 in the world for 2017. Dr. Frey attended the prestigious Howard University for his orthodontic residency. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the National Dental Association, and is one of the founders of the Donald M. Russell Orthodontic Study Club.
Experience has played a major role in Dr. Freys style as an orthodontist. He has been around dentistry most of his life, as his uncle Dr. Ronald Livingston is a successful family practitioner in Highland Park, Michigan. Dr. Frey credits Dr. Livingston for providing him with the fundamentals of his practice philosophy. Simply puttreat patients and staff well with honesty and integrity, and the work will be rewarding.
In dental school, Dr. Frey had the opportunity to learn from some of the worlds leading orthodontists and dentists. During this time, he participated in the preservation of the University of Michigan Growth Study with its curator, Dr. James McNamara. Dr. McNamara has been recognized throughout his career for his contributions to orthodontic practice, research, and education. In 2008, while Dr. Frey was working on the preservation project, the American Board of Orthodontics presented Dr. McNamara with the Albert M. Ketcham Award, considered the most prestigious award in orthodontics worldwide.
Between 2010 and 2017, Dr. Frey worked as an associate orthodontist with Drs. Henry DiLorenzo and Kenneth Hrechka in their practice, Maryland Orthodontics. Both orthodontists have been in practice more than 30 years and have been recognized for their contributions to orthodontics on local and national levels. While working at Maryland Orthodontics, Dr. Frey was able to hone his skills in treatment planning and clinical practice.
Dr. Frey has been passionate about a career in orthodontics since middle school. He always has desired to have his own practice and now feels blessed to have that opportunity. His experience learning from many distinguished dental practitioners motivates him to work with the highest standards. His goal is to provide excellent service and an exceptional result to each and every patient. To Dr. Frey, orthodontics is more than just straight teeth. His approach places critical importance on maintaining excellent oral health and choosing treatment plans that are predictable and minimize risk. Dr. Frey feels his most important roles as a health care provider are to educate patients on their condition and advocate on their behalf. He enjoys helping patients achieve the smile they desire through orthodontics and strives to provide an experience that adds value to their lives.
Giving back is important to Dr. Frey; as such, he contributes to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Howard University College of Dentistry, and to orthodontic education and research through the American Association of Orthodontics Foundation. He also returns to Howard University each year to present lectures to orthodontic residents.
When he is not at the office, Dr. Frey enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Cheri, playing with their puppies, watching sports, playing golf, and traveling. He is an avid fan of University of Michigan and Detroit sports teams. Dr. Frey is an active member of Alfred Street Baptist Church and serves on the mens usher board.

I was very nervous to get braces but after I left champion smiles I was ready to get my braces put on the same day. Everyone from the front desk to the assistant and the doctor made me feel comfortable and ready for my new smile.

Extremely unpleased with the quality of the service. I've been a patient for over a year. 85% of the time, I have had to return back to the office because of a brace popping or being misaligned. The time off from work and multiple visits due to poor quality of work has been very frustrating. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! FRUSTRATED PARENT!!!

Highly recommended! My sons have been patients of Dr. Browns for years. Winning Smiles Orthodontics was recommended to us by a close friend that had her sons braces applied and maintained by Dr. Brown. My friend was correct! I still remember being able to fill out all my childrens forms online prior to the appointment (never been a fan of trying to recall 10 years of data to fill out the multiple forms while sitting in a waiting room). The friendly and efficient staff along with Dr. Brown, do a great job of adhering to scheduled appointment times. Winning Smiles also offers the best mouthpieces available for contact sports PERIOD! The fitting only takes a few minutes and the lab is able to turn the product out in a few days. I have recommended the mouthpieces to all the parents whose kids have played on my Football and Lacrosse teams. Top notch organization!

I loved my experience at Dr. Brown. From the professionalism to the family atmosphere he gets it. The true test to how good a doctor is can be mesured by the attitudes of the patients being seen. Well everytime my children have to go see Dr. Brown for a update to treatment or a replacement my kids are excited to go see Dr. Brown. His practice is top notch and deserves more stars then the 5 listed!

Dr. Brown's performance as a Orthodontist goes beyond exceptional. He is a master in his profession, current in all trends, innovations and technology. Dr. Brown exudes the utmost in patience, respect, care, concern and a positive attitude at all times. Dr. Brown genuinely cares for all his patients and makes a sincere investment in the outcome of all smiles. Dr. Brown's first point of contact, his office staff is exceptional! They are always polite and professional and make the appointment process easy and accommodating. Always know your appointment time will always be respected. Dr. Brown is the only Orthodontist I would recommend in this area!

I highy recommend Winning Smiles Orthodontics! Dr. Brown and his exceptional professional staff are caring and gentle. From the moment you enter Dr. Brown's office you are warmly greeted and quickly ushered to the back. The service is quick with very little wait time. My children have been patients with Winning Smiles for the past 15 months. In those early stages, Dr. Brown was always avaiable to accommodate us with my son's ever changing school schedule. Dr. Brown and his team are very thorough with educating my children on how to care for their teeth while in braces. It's because of the great service Winning Smiles provide that my children are scheduled to have their braces taken off within the next two months. We've been a patient of Dr Brown's for almost two years. We noticed our son's jaw alignment was incorrect, not to mention numerous spacing between his teeth. It was recommended by our dentist to take him to an Orthodontist. After 2 consults we were led to Winning Smiles. Our son absolutely loves Dr. Brown and his professional and friendly staff. Dr Brown helped our son transition over the last 12 months with his first phase of braces, and after having them on for just a year, his smile is already perfected. Dr. Brown provides excellent service from making an appointment to applying and maintaining braces. His level of care is outstanding. He takes the time to explain step by step so the my kids felt very comfortable in his care. My kids look forward to every appointment just to visit Dr. Brown. The Bowie and surrounding communities are fortunate to have an orthodontics practice the caliber of Dr. Brown's. From the cutting-edge technology, to the knowledgeable staff, to the expertise and wisdom of Dr. Brown, patients are in skilled and highly capable hands. My son's teeth are progressing beautifully.
