As a holistic dental office, we continually invest in the latest technology so were able to provide care that benefits someone beyond their mouth. Thats why we only use low-radiation digital X-rays, which in addition to being safer than traditional film, also capture sharper images in much less time! We also take bite impressions 100% digitally (no more messy putty!) and use a soft tissue laser for gum-focused procedures, which allows for a more precise and conservative treatment that doesnt include incisions, sutures, or needles!
Dr. Polly Reese loves creating smiles that are not only healthy, but beautiful! Her welcoming and caring demeanor helps her patients stay comfortable no matter what procedure has brought them into the dental office. She has over 25 years of experience, 14 of which have been spent right here as a female dentist in Evanston. She cant wait to show you how easy and fulfilling taking care of your teeth can be, but first, you can start getting to know her below.
Dr. Reese comes from a family of health professionals and started considering a career in healthcare at an early age (after going through a stage of wanting to be a pilot). An accomplished athlete, her father told her she would be a natural for dentistry because of her great hand/eye coordination. She eventually chose to pursue dentistry because she saw it would allow her to make positive and lasting changes in peoples lives, and she couldnt be happier where she has ended up!
Dr. Reese completed her undergraduate studies at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, where she graduated with a BA degree in 1982. She continued her studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago and received a BS degree in 1983 and her DDS degree in 1986. In 2000, she decided to pursue an MBA and received one from the Northwestern Kellogg Executive Program in 2002.
Dr. Reese has worked diligently to advance her education and skills throughout her career. Most recently, she completed continuing education through The Huggins/Grube Protocol, which is an intensive study in biologic/holistic dentistry. In addition, she has been certified in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) and has studied with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. She attended the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, taking multiple courses, including Functional Aesthetic Dentistry and Mastery of Dynamic Adhesive Principles in Complex Reconstructive Cases. She has completed Supra-gingival Dentistry: Easy, Predictable Porcelain Veneers, Onlays, and Crowns, Occlusion for Everyday Dentistry, and Advanced Occlusal Disease Management at the Los Angeles Institute for Esthetic Dentistry. She is also a CEREC Doctors Mentor.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Reeses passion is caring for animals. She and her partner have four rescue dogs, and they are her third and fourth pair of rescues. While her intention was never to have four dogs at once, she and her partner quickly became foster failures.
Dr. Reese tries to stay active as much as she can. In the past, she has completed three Ironman Triathlons, including the famed Hawaii Ironman. While she does not participate in triathlons currently, she still swims, runs, and bikes because she loves it and enjoys the benefits of staying healthy. She likes playing golf as well but doesnt take it too seriously. Hiking is her preferred getaway for vacations. She uses it as a time to commune with nature and practice photography.

I came across Winning Smile while looking for a dentist who could possibly help me with my aching tooth pain. Dr. was able to see me the same week I made an appointment, assess my tooth, give me advice, & extract it the same day with no problem at all! Dr. Reese and her office are the bestl. They are so conscientious and so thorough about Covid, mercury removal and every other thing you could think of. Alona is an incredible dental technician. She is so gentle and so caring. It almost makes going to the dentist a pleasant experience!!! I can't recommend them highly enough

Dr Parker is very detailed and diligent. She is a proactive and preventive care dentist! She fixes things before they become bad and cares about the aesthetics too. And I especially like she tells stories to distract me during the procedures! Highly recommend. - Happy current client.

I have been a patient of Winning Smile since it has opened. The office is always courteous and professional. Their care for their patients is excellent. Winning Smile's approach to COVID is another example of their care for their patients. I highly recommend this dental group. First, amazingly friendly service! Took the time to talk and explain everything and made me feel at ease ( it's my first visit here). Second and very important, I never even felt the shot of Novocaine... seriously! All of a sudden the area was numb, incredible!

As a young person I always hated going to the dentist, but when I found Dr Reese, she and her staff made it easy and comfortable and always work with me on a payment plan. Alona, my hygienist, always does the best job cleaning and flossing my teeth for my semi-annual check-ups.The biggest perk, though, is that I come to see Tucker the office therapy dog many times a week. Regardless of walking Tucker, the staff is always friendly and like visiting family. Thank you all for making visiting the dentist a pleasant experience.

6/28/22 Today I had a crown put in and despite my initial nervousness, I was completely relaxed and comfortable during the procedure! I also got to see how the crown is made with this amazing high tech machine that accurately constructed my porcelain crown to all the specifications in under 14 minutes!! Incredible and really interesting to see! I love that Winning Smile does an excellent job of educating its patients about the dental work that they do with such care and skill! Thanks Dr. Reese and staff!! Friendly staff, caring and highly skilled dentistry, and a great patient experience in a pleasant and comfortable setting. A winning choice for dental care! 8/6/20 Had my first visit since the CoVid19 lockdown and I was a little nervous, but Dr. Reese and her staff have done Everything to make office visits safe and comfortable. Maggie, my dental hygienist, was really careful and also gentle. She explained everything she was doing and answered all questions I had. The cleaning was thorough and extra precautions, aside from masks and face shields, included a separate air filtration device that catches any aerosolized germs into a tube and away from patient and practioner! Plus, every treatment room is fully sterilized after each patient! I felt completely safe and really appreciate the steps Winning Smile has in place for us! Highly recommended!!

I was looking for a dentist who I can trust with bigger work that needed to be done on my teeth. A clear indicator in my opinion is what the office looks like, the equipment and obviously how much experience the dentist has. Dr Reese has been absolutely fantastic when I had to get a bridge - she patiently explained the process to me, talked though different options and was very meticulous when performing the procedure. I have a pretty low pain tolerance so she made sure I was very numb and didn't feel a thing! Going for regular check ups is also great, the staff is friendly and Alona has been doing a fantastic job cleaning my teeth. A place I can highly recommend!

Polly and her staff are so friendly, kind, and accommodating. I also used the services of Dr. Bima for oral surgery. Going to biannual cleanings is what caught the issue which needed surgery. All of it went well, I was appropriately medicated and the recovery was not as bad as I had imagined. I didn't miss work and I only needed over the counter pain medication. If you need a dentist Winning smile is where you should go. There is parking in a secure lot and I drive from Lincoln Square because it's worth it.
