Our office provides comprehensive dentistry, including orthodontics, for children. Our experienced staff has been together for many years.Dr. Wing has been in private pediatric practice for over 25 years, providing restorative and orthodontic services. Lisa, our hygienist, has been providing pediatric preventive care for me for 18 years. Francine, our office manager, has been at the front desk for 10 years and has extensive experience and knowledge in all aspects of office management, including schedule maintenance and insurance processing. She therefore keeps the office running smoothly. We also employ a high school student on a rotating basis interested in dentistry to perform small tasks on a daily basis for us. Our staff is like a family! We like to think we have that close relationship with our patient family as well. We enjoy long term treatment of our young patients and also enjoy continually meeting and welcoming new children to our practice.

Dr. Wing grew up in Michigan and moved to South Windsor Connecticut in 1991 where he married his wife Debbie and started a family. He has three college aged sons and enjoys skiing, biking, tennis, traveling, and hiking with family and friends. Dr. Wing began practicing pediatric dentistry in the fall of 1991 in Manchester, Connecticut. In November of the year 2000, he moved his practice to South Windsor where he lives. He enjoys having his business in the community he lives in, is actively involved in, and where his kids attended school and grew up. Dr. Wing received a bachelor of science degree in Biology in the spring of 1984 from Michigan State University. From there he attended the University of Michigan where he received his general dental training. He completed his doctor of dental surgery degree in the spring of 1988. The fall of that year he moved to Connecticut where he did a general practice residency and earned a certificate in hospital dentistry from St. Marys Hospital in Waterbury Connecticut. In the fall of 1989, he returned to Michigan where he completed a pediatric dentistry residency at The University of Michigan in the spring of 1991. Concurrent with his clinical training there, he did research, published his thesis, and as a result, earned a masters degree in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Wing just celebrated his 25th year in private practice with a wonderful patient base providing comprehensive dental care, including orthodontics, for infants, children, adolescents, and special needs kids. He is actually now treating second generation kids! Dr. Wing has been awarded top pediatric dentist honors in both the state of Connecticut and nationally for the last several years. So I would just like to share that today was my childrens first visit to Dr Wings office and we had a wonderful experience. From the second we walked in the girls at the front desk were warm and inviting and made us feel so welcome. The office itself was very clean and so kid friendly. My daughter is usually pretty good with any doctor but my son has Autism and can really get nervous and full of anxiety and Dr Wing and his staff were patient and understanding of his feelings. They informed him of everything that was going on before they did it and they really took their time with him. I will highly recommend Dr Wing to my friends who need a great pediatric dentist

I do NOT recommend Dr. Wing. He's very inconsistent with his mood and attitude. We have been going to his office for about 10 years and I knew the reviews weren't great. But my daughter did like going there... until recently. I've noticed a lot of staff changes over the years (red flag #1 maybe), but our recent appointment where my daughter needed two baby teeth extracted (simple) was a disaster. I had a question about the letter from the orthodontist and possibly keeping 1 of the teeth in (as a space filler) that set Dr. Wing off. I really was "on the same page" as the orthodontists recommendation, but Dr. Wing just decided he no longer wanted to do the procedure. He half-heartedly contacted the orthodontist and came back to say he couldn't get in touch with them (despite my orthodontist confirming they did call him back within a few minutes). It wasn't because of the question or any confusion about the teeth or procedure that was most upsetting to me. It was the fact that Dr. Wing was very rude to me. He kept interrupting me when I would try to talk or ask a question. He had no interest in what I wanted to say or ask - he was just done with us and kept telling me to go back to the orthodontist. I was stunned; and as he pivoted out of the office to leave he snarks back "You're Welcome!" (I had certainly not thanked him.... for nothing). My daughter was very upset when we left. She said she felt awkward and she didn't like how he was talking to me and kept telling us to leave. I will also add, there have been some cleaning appointments in the past where he wasn't even there. The hygienist (who was great) would do the cleaning and then that's it - no final check from a dentist (red flag #2).

Horrific experience with this practice. I have been bringing my kids to Dr. Wing for over 6 yrs but like several other reviews the doctor and practice have gone completely downhill. The doctor has no compassion at all, is cocky and extremely rude. He refused treatment on my 6 yr old autistic special needs child because he "didn't want to service anyone who wasn't happy there". I pleaded to just have the procedure done since I took my child out of school. He refused to even speak w me. Thankfully I got an emergency appointment at Smiles in Bloom who completed the entire procedure later that day in 30 minutes TEAR FREE. It should also be noted that Dr. Wing would not send Smiles in Bloom the records in time for my appointment (2 hrs later). When I then looked at his reviews and mentioned to the receptionist that this may be why they have poor reviews, she said those were written by angry ex employees. This is unlikely - since I witnessed first hand, the unprofessionalism, poor treatment and blatant disregard for a 6 yr old child's well being. The 30 yrs of experience (which he loves to repeatedly mention) mean NOTHING if he has no bedside manner (or patients from the looks of his reviews). He should be ashamed of himself and his practice as a pediatric medical "professional" whose main priority should be the children.

This dentist has specific rules for "husky" or low income families and is profiling you based on this very sensitive information. My daughter tried to explain that she is a single parent of 2 small children and needed an afternoon appointment because she works full time and one child is in Summer School. She was told they don't see "husky" or "Medicaid" patients past 11 in the morning. She then had no choice but to take a morning appointment but... Before she could book the appointment, the dentist himself called and told her because she questioned his policy he did not want her bringing her kids to his office. He said "this is my reputation... you obviously question my policies and I can't risk my reputation ". Honestly, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the fact they are on Husky or biracial but to be so afraid of your reputation and to single out the most fragile groups of your customer base is unacceptable!!! Shame on you Dr. Randall Wing .... Future patients, especially single mothers of racially diverse children who have State Insurance or Husky please be aware of this dentists policies and practices!!!

Completely disappointed in this practice. We've been going there for nearly 7 years with our 3 children and the level of care and compassion has completely gone downhill in the past few months. I did notice there were staff changes, and I know that can be difficult sometimes, but the overall care of Dr. Wing has been horrible. My 5 year old went in in January and was told he needed fillings. The Dr. did attempt to do them but my son was less than enthusiastic. In the end, we decided we'd wait a few months to try again, since they were not bad. I called today to have him seen and the dentist blatantly refused to see him citing that the "tooth was too decayed for him to do." Unbeknownst to me, Dr. Wing is not just a dentist, but also a psychic. Considering he hasn't seen my son in months and back when he did, he said the cavities weren't bad and we could wait until his June cleaning to address them again, I'm failing to see how he can see inside his mouth, over a phone, from 2 towns away. I spoke with the new receptionist again, asking if I was hearing her correctly: That my child's pediatric dentist is refusing to see my child and HELP him, while he's in pain. I heard correctly. I highly do NOT recommend this practice and I will be taking my children to a new practice that actually cares.

My girls had a 6 month check up today. Our first visit to this office was in Aug 2021 during The middle of covid 19. During the first visit I was able to take both girls to the dentist exam room and wait in the room with masks on while they got their exam done. Today the dentist tried to tell me that one would have to sit in the car while the other had an exam without me present. My girls are 6 and 9 and do not enjoy the dentist. Instead of working with me and offering options he made me feel very uncomfortable and we left. We will not be returning. I understand that there are covid rules but simply explaining this to me on the phone would have prevented this horrible experience.

We went here because my son was complaining about a toothache. He had recently turned five years old and I wanted to take him to a dentist who would be pediatric friendly. However I felt extremely uncomfortable with the fact that they wanted to do the procedure (including administering laughing gas) on my son not only in a closed room but on a different floor. They told me repeatedly I was not allowed to be in the same room as my son. Which would not only make me uncomfortable but my son also. They told me it was a normal practice for parents to wait in the waiting room while they took young children to a different floor in a closed room with just the doctor. After expressing my concerns they continued to be very pushy and made an appointment for my son. I told them I would not like an appointment because I need to talk to my husband. The secretary continue to push the appointment and said OK then just call me if you need to cancel it. I then said no I don't want an appointment. Well lo and behold a few weeks later I receive a bill for a missed appointment fee. I would not recommend this office to anyone who is concerned about the safety of their children. I've never seen anyone be so pushy about wanting me to leave my son alone with them while partially sedated.
