I have always believed in treating patients like I would want to be treated. I do my best to put each patient at ease and thoroughly explain all treatment options. I also try to provide the best overall experience with the least anxiety and pain and take the time to listen carefully and answer all questions to the best of my ability. I receive the greatest personal and professional satisfaction when I can fix a patients smile, relieve their pain, and improve their outlook on maintaining excellent oral health.
Dr. Gwaltney is a certified Invisalign Provider, but he enjoys all areas of general dentistry and actively pursues continuing dental education. This includes hands-on and lecture courses so he can stay up to date on the newest dental techniques, technology, and materials.Dr. Gwaltney is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Gwaltney is a native Virginian, born and raised in Richmond. He moved to Northern Virginia in 2010. Currently, he lives in Round Hill with his wife, Magdalena (a dental hygienist), their two kids, Alexandra and Michael Jr., a Boston Terrier, and two parakeets. Away from the office, he enjoys playing and studying with his children, reading, binge-watching Netflix and Amazon Prime series, restoring cars, fixing things around the house, traveling, and exploring the area with his family.

Wonderful experience. I have anxiety disorder due to a child hood trauma that involves anyone getting close to my mouth. The endodontist and nurse were very patient and friendly with me and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The Dr explained everything to me so I could understand what was going on and to expect moving forward. I highly recommend anyone who has a fear or suffers anxieties please go to this Dr. I had a tooth break on a Friday afternoon and I was able to be seen that following Monday at 9am. I'm so relieved I went to Winchester dental Care. Their name says it best. Treating you with care. Thank you Winchester dental care

Have had good experience with 2 major dental situations. They worked with my insurance even though they were a little slow in getting them involved. I almost financed something that was going to be covered by insurance. Thankfully it was sorted out by a helpful office staff member. Dentist is very kind and hygienic staff are excellent.

This was our first appointment with this practice. They were very courteous, friendly and professional . Once the examination was complete, they reviewed all the options available to my husband. They reviewed payment schedule and the best plan of action. We were very impressed and decided they would be our dental practice for the future.

Dr. Gwaltney is fantastic! He is sympathetic to patients having anxiety, explains everything he is doing step by step and cares about you. The front desk staff and back office staff could use some revamping and a customer/patient professionalism courtesy training may help them. They aren't the friendliest by any means.
