Drs. Tyler M. Wilson, DDS and Marshall S. Humes, DDS have specialized knowledge in pain control and advanced training in anesthesia needed to ensure that our patients have the most comfortable surgical experience possible. Our team is here to provide effective solutions to your pressing dental problems.
After obtaining his dental degree, he began a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. His specialty training involved comprehensive experience in trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, TMJ, dental implants, bone grafting, oral pathology, and orthognathic surgery. He received his specialty certificate in 2008 and entered private practice in Santa Maria, where the emphasis of his scope is dentoalveolar surgery, implants, bone grafting, and oral and maxillofacial pathology.
Dr. Wilson and his wife Susie are pleased to be settled on the Central Coast with their four young children. He is a diplomate of the Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Wilson is on staff at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Central Coast Dental Society.
In order to become board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Wilson completed an intensive application and examination process. After providing evidence of exemplary experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Wilson was required to pass both a written and qualifying examination and a rigorous oral certifying examination. Diplomates maintain current competency by ongoing continuing education and are re-certified every ten years by a comprehensive examination.
Were happy to have Dr Marshall Humes at our practice! He recently returned to his home here on the Central Coast and brings over 35 years of oral surgery experience, with over 30 years serving the Santa Maria and Arroyo Grande Communities. Dr Humes is highly respected within our local dental community for his excellent care and professionalism, and we are grateful to have him here to serve you and your family.
A native Californian, Dr. Humes grew up in the greater Los Angeles area. Following his undergraduate education, he was accepted into early admission at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He graduated with honors and continued his education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center.
Dr. Humes was the founder and managing partner in a private Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in the Central Coast of California until his commission in the United States Army and United States Air Force stationed him first in Germany, then at Joint Base Langley/Eustis Virginia, where he served as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, serving members of all branches of the military and their families. Following his retirement from Active Duty, he continued his service to veterans as chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Richmond Virginia.
Dr. Humes is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, a fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Southern California Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

I was visiting the central coast from out of town. Fell on my morning jog & knocked my front teeth into my top jawbone (yes, it's as horrible as it sounds). Dr Wilson & his staff took me in immediately as an emergency & stabilized my teeth. They were so empathetic & kind. They explained all procedures & healing protocol to me in detail--I highly recommend them!

Just want to thank Dr Wilson and his staff for the wonderful experience I had at his office. As a former dental hygienist I know patients are nervous to go get any dental work done. But when u walk into that office door, you are greeted with several welcoming smiles, they literally roll out the red carpet for you. His staff makes u feel so welcomed and treat you like family. I felt like I've known them all for yrs. His dental work is impeccable. Highly recommend Dr Wilson for any dental procedure you may need. His office is 5

Dr. Wilson performed my tooth implant surgery. When another Dr. was prepping me for the crown installation, I experienced extreme pain from this tooth Dr. Wilson surgically implanted. I was numbed three different times & was still in agony. Since I was in such excruciating pain, I could not to go forward with the crown installation and this new Dr. would redo the implant procedure, but correctly, this time. Afterward, I talked with Dr. Wilson to reimburse me. He refused, but instead offered to redo the procedure. I told him "NO"! You totally botched it the first time you did it and I do NOT trust you to do it right after this horrible experience!" I now have to wait almost an entire year to gain the ability to chew again without pain. Who would be so stupid to see a Dr. if he didn't do it right the first time, then go and see the same Dr. again for a second time?! Dr. Wilson won't give me my money back and after calling my new Dr., he lied to him about my situation, then had the gall to tell me WE were both "liars". By lying to both of US, he tried to destroy the relationship between myself and my new Dr. I truly believe Dr. Wilson is a very sick man, who does not have any basic morality as a physician. He DID NOT do a good job, at all, plus his fees are VERY expensive and not that experienced.

I'm not surprised this office has over 100 5-star reviews. The entire team is helpful, skilled, and so kind. My daughters had their wisdom teeth removed and all went well. I even received a call from the doctor (!) that evening to make sure the girls were comfortable. This office has my highest recommendation and I trust them 100% to take great care of you or your loved ones. Thank you so much, Dr. Wilson and staff. Well done!

Very friendly staff /(environment), Dr has a very professional demeanor which gave me peace of mind knowing I would be under good hands. After my procedure they gave me follow up calls making sure I was doing okay and following my post-op directions.

My visit was a success. Everyone was professional. In these times of Covid-19, I felt very safe from the minute I arrived. My experience was outstanding. From my reception upon arrival to the young dental technician I was assigned. The treatment process was well defined, and when there was a question regarding my insurance, I was told they would contact me about costs. Wonderful experience.
