Drs. Tyler M. Wilson, DDS and Marshall S. Humes, DDS have specialized knowledge in pain control and advanced training in anesthesia needed to ensure that our patients have the most comfortable surgical experience possible. Our team is here to provide effective solutions to your pressing dental problems.
After obtaining his dental degree, he began a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. His specialty training involved comprehensive experience in trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, TMJ, dental implants, bone grafting, oral pathology, and orthognathic surgery. He received his specialty certificate in 2008 and entered private practice in Santa Maria, where the emphasis of his scope is dentoalveolar surgery, implants, bone grafting, and oral and maxillofacial pathology.
Dr. Wilson and his wife Susie are pleased to be settled on the Central Coast with their four young children. He is a diplomate of the Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Wilson is on staff at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Central Coast Dental Society.
In order to become board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Wilson completed an intensive application and examination process. After providing evidence of exemplary experience in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Wilson was required to pass both a written and qualifying examination and a rigorous oral certifying examination. Diplomates maintain current competency by ongoing continuing education and are re-certified every ten years by a comprehensive examination.
Were happy to have Dr Marshall Humes at our practice! He recently returned to his home here on the Central Coast and brings over 35 years of oral surgery experience, with over 30 years serving the Santa Maria and Arroyo Grande Communities. Dr Humes is highly respected within our local dental community for his excellent care and professionalism, and we are grateful to have him here to serve you and your family.
A native Californian, Dr. Humes grew up in the greater Los Angeles area. Following his undergraduate education, he was accepted into early admission at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He graduated with honors and continued his education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center.
Dr. Humes was the founder and managing partner in a private Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in the Central Coast of California until his commission in the United States Army and United States Air Force stationed him first in Germany, then at Joint Base Langley/Eustis Virginia, where he served as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, serving members of all branches of the military and their families. Following his retirement from Active Duty, he continued his service to veterans as chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Richmond Virginia.
Dr. Humes is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, a fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Southern California Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

A visit to the dentist is not my idea of a fun thing to do, in fact it's a little scary. From the moment I entered the office Dr. Wilson and his staff made me feel very comfortable and secure in the feeling that I was in good hands. Dr. Wilson dealt with the extraction of a molar in a pain free and professional way. I suffered no negative after effects and would highly recommend Dr. Wilson. Barbara James

We know we've gotten the best possible care from Dr Tyler Wilson and his team. Dr Wilson is so kind and compassionate, good at explaining procedures, concerned about his patients and not wanting them to be in pain, and all of that lessens everyone's anxiety. I'd almost guarantee that leads to better outcomes. We're really glad and grateful that he's our oral surgeon.

His staff of nurses are amazing & spend a great deal or time trying to make him look good . Dr . Wilson on the other hand is arrogant , judgemental & at time down right disrespectful . My last procedure I was suppose to be under IV sedation with was very accomplished. I was awake the whole time I tears asking him to stop. He did not stop & this was so incredibly traumatic. So my next appoint my blood pressure sky rocket do to his past behavior & He so arrogantly walks and says "I will not perform any procedures do to you high bod pressure & I should go straight to see my primary. No need my BP went down the minute he left the room. & was completely normal after I left his office . His staff is great but he leaves a lot to be desired. I will NEVER GO BACK. BTW I'm 6 th generation fromSLO County & would never xd

I brought my brother to get his wisdom teeth pulled and they did a phenomenal job! Made it a breeze for him and I will recommend them to all my family. Thanks to the girls Chelsea and Maria for being so courteous and nice to my brother. Will definitely be back!

Dr. Willson and his staff are 1st CLASS!!! The procedure that Dr. Willson performed was impeccable and very impressive! He made me feel so comfortable!!! I highly recommend Dr. Willson for any tooth extraction/Oral Surgery!!

Great service and friendly staff. I had a molar removed and implant placed with absolutely no complications. The staff is very helpful and appointments are prompt, I did not experience waiting. Dr Wilson is very skilled and took great care during my procedures. He also was sweet enough to check in late in the day after my morning procedure to see how I was doing. Recommend highly if you want great results.

The entire staff.was.nothing but 5 stars. I.was so nervous but they made me feel good through out the extraction. Informative, smiles so.many.smiles. i.am.wowwed over Wilson and his staff.

If I could give zero stars I would. Dr. Wilson has made me feel the most uncomfortable I have ever felt at any medical appointment I've ever had in my life. He broke H.I.P.A.A and asked me very inappropriate questions that had nothing to do with my wisdom tooth surgery. He constantly asked about my personal medical history that in no way affected my dental visit with him. If I wanted a OBGYN appointment I would have gone to my regular dr. Not my oral surgeon. Then after the visit and him accusing me of apparently being a drug abuser because I take anti depressants because he thinks I'm too young to take them. He falsely wrote on my chart incorrect drug information. This was disturbing to me and so out of line . I will never come here again. I am strongly considering communicating with the medical board and HR. Dr Wilson you disgust me and I hope nobody ever goes through what I went through. Get help Dr Wilson. find a better practice if you want to get personal with your female patients .

I am always pleasantly greeted! The staff is friendly and professional!! They're keepers! Dr. Wilson is very aware and concerned about patients comfort and is very thorough. I would recommend the office to EVERYONE!

Dr. Humes extracted a molar and did an excellent job. The dental team/office were very nice. The reason for 4 stars was due to the topical numbing cream not helping numb the area before 3 shots were stuck into my badly infected area of my tooth ... I could have screamed it hurt so bad!! :(

It was my first time getting some dentral extractions and I was afraid of the outcome. I enjoyed the painless and very well done job when Dr. Wilson removed my four wisdom teeth. Painless experience and everyone was friendly and professional. I would definitely return if i ever need any other surgical work done
