Dr. Michael Wilson graduated from New York University College of Dentistryin 2005. After practicing fortwo years in New York City,it came to Dr. Wilson's attentionthat there was asignificant unmetneed for dental care inupstate New York. Many dentists are not willing to treat Medicaid patients, as low reimbursements and high no-show rates often accompany this demographic.Dr. Wilson openeda practice in Binghamton in March 2008to address this huge unmet need andincrease access to care for an underserved population. The practice grew to 14 doctors within two years.In late2010, Dr Wilson realized that Syracusealso needed more dentists willing to treat Medicaid patients after a patient had driven an hour down to Binghamtontoreceive specialty treatment at Wilson Dental.
Our team of doctors includes several general dentists and a variety of dental specialists (pediatric dentists, oral surgeons, orthodontists and anesthesiologists). A similar comprehensive team would be almost impossible to find in Upstate NY.
Although a big part ofWilson Dental'sgrowth has to do with the significant amount ofpre-existing need that existed in these communities before we opened our doors, a lot of it also has to with the caringnature ofour doctors and staff. Patients who have been to our office know that we genuinelycare about them, and that makes them want to tell their friends.

Dr Ioana Sarbescu at the Freeville Office is the absolute best dentist I've ever had. Shes caring and gentle and I recommend her to anyone I hear say "I need a new dentist"

Dr. Kang and his assistant were literally the best! I have never experienced such a relaxing, stress free and friendly environment before! Dr. Kang was very understanding, professional and sweet! Always said thank you to me when I told him I felt pain and always thanked his assistant for all her help. He complimented his assistant for making a perfect mixture after he realized the first mixture wasn't exactly the way it should have been! Keep up the good work you guys!

Two stars because the doctor was okay. The first hygienist we had was nice enough, but the second was not a people person and hurt my mouth, even though I told her it was painful and asked her to be gentle. They canceled my appt two times after that bc they can't seem to keep hygienists. I bet they don't pay much. I don't like their late policy/cancellation policy. You can't be late or cancel but if they don't have a hygienist hired they don't have a problem canceling your appt with only a few days notice. I switched to a different provider. Much happier. The front office staff don't seem to enjoy their jobs at all.

HORRIBLE FRONT DESK RECEPTIONISTS I had so many issues just trying to make an appointment and ultimately didn't even get to meet with the doctor I requested because I wasn't informed that he no longer works there. Never thought my family would be screamed at by a front desk receptionist at a dentist for such a petty matter that isn't even my fault. Unbelievable. Do better.

If you are hesitant, if you are scared, GO HERE. I did not go to a dentist in over 10 years because of fear and finances. The woman I saw here and the staff have been AMAZING! I have terrible anxiety and they have been so kind and comforting! I had my first ever root canal today. It was the first procedure I have had done in over 10 years and it was the single best dental experience I have ever had.

WORST Manager and Receptionist. EXTREMELY RUDE. On December 21, 2020, my daughter called to make 3 appointments for me, my husband and herself specifically with Dr. Daniel Kang. Our request for him was the first thing we mentioned when she made the phone call. She was then questioned regarding our insurance company, social security number, and other personal information. However, she was not once notified during the phone call that Dr. Daniel Kang does not practice in this office. Now comes the day of our appointment and my daughter was not greeted by the doctor we requested and the front desk manager Jessica and associate Erica verbally attacked me while claiming that we did not request any doctor. When repeatedly told that we did, they changed their response to saying that they informed to my daughter that Dr. Daniel Kang does not practice in this office but that he practice in Syracuse. I will not tolerate being lied to and yelled at for a mistake that was made on the front desk's end. In addition, they also threatened and yelled over the phone that if we get arrive at their office just one minute late, we would not be able to see any doctor because it's their policy. However, they let my daughter go in first at around 10:09AM for my husband's original appointment time because he needed to get his photo id. They had already broken their policy at that moment by themselves.I have never experienced such rude service anywhere, let alone at a dentist. I am extremely disappointed with Wilson dental team at Freeville and the time wasted today.

I was a loyal patient to TD (Tompkins dental) for years. Recently my #31 tooth started breaking. TD refused to see me after two cancellations (my youngest child was sick both times and needed to be seen by doctor) anyways, I called Wilson Dental and was able to get in rather quickly. Especially with Covid and being a new patient. Let me just say... TD there are SO MANY dentists & Hygienist; I NEVER knew who I was seeing, AND I felt like it was SO jam packed full of patients any time I went. Wilson- there is one hygienist and one dentist. The front staff is amazing. I really connected with the receptionist. Everyone is very personable and makes you feel welcome. I literally could have stayed and chatted with everyone for hours, if I was allowed too. The Dentist, Ionia, is very sweet. I absolutely loved her! I am SO happy with Wilson! I literally can not wait to go back!

Had an appointment today (very snowy day). WD sent me an email to confirm my appointment, which I did. I called over and over this morning to see if they were even open. No answer. I went to the appointment just the same as you all know how long it takes to get one. THEY WERE CLOSED. Come on, this is 2021, you can access your computer remotely and have the curtesy of calling to cancel appointments, but you didn't!

Very unprofessional!! I had a broken tooth extracted and within a week the crowned tooth next to the extracted tooth appeared broken. Made appointment, with no hard feeling toward the dentist to see about getting crown fixed. While discussing what had happened, she immediately turned on me and angrily started asking if I was accusing her of breaking my crown. I could barely get a word in before she WALKED OUT of the room mid-exam, still ranting. I am appalled by the treatment I received, especially since I never "blamed them" for the issue. I figured things happen and was there to resolve the issue, which I still dont know what my options are as she was to busy trying to place blame than to help me understand what my options are going forward. I gave this office a chance when looking for a new dentist, despite bad reviews because it was close to home and they seemed nice during my first visit. Take my advice, do not come to this office!!!!!

Wilson Dental in Freeville is terribly unprofessional. Let me list why I say this: 1) I've left several voice messages over the last couple years and they were NEVER returned, 2) called when in great pain with no call back, to find they don't even change their voice mail when gone for a week on vacation, 3) several times the girl at the desk was just plain rude, certainly not a people person, 4) was told I needed 2 root canals and given a referral to have somone else do it, only later to find from another dentist it was not necessary. If you're looking for a dentist, go elsewhere!

Horrible phone service. Incredibly rude customer service. I called the dental office multiple times for 2 weeks and every time a woman would pick up and once I asked a question about medicaid she'd hang up. After she hangs up, all my calls go straight to voicemail, when I finally got a hold of her she was incredibly rude and condescending.

I took my kids two times there and they mentioned we contacted you to cancel the appointment..... but we have not received any messages on our phone. Also they sent us email confirmation for our appointment.....it is very disappointing....this is disrespectful to patients time and schedule!!!!! and they just keep saying that we can reschedule....their review profile force you to press a star to post your comment.....

People don't like going to the dentist, so why would you be just so darned rude to your customers? Bad enough my husband was turned away because his cancer causes him to breathe through a hole in his neck, but to be told after asking why, "because she doesn't have to see you if she doesn't want to." Rude doesn't even begin to cover how these people treat patients.

Absolutely amazing dental office. Both my son and I are seen here. They are amazing with him and have been a blessing to me after years of putting of seeing the dentist. The entire staff makes you feel comfortable and safe and always perfessional in every way.
