Dr. Douglas Dowdle completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Biology. His post-graduate education continued at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where he received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). He graduated with honors and was awarded an academic scholarship from the United States Air Force.
Since then, Dr. Dowdle has dedicated himself to providing comprehensive and quality dentistry. He believes continuing education and post-graduate studies are essential to keep up to date with new technology and continuing changes in the field of dentistry. He has taken hundreds of course hours in Dental Implants, Endodontics, Periodontics, and General Dentistry.
Dr. Robert French completed his undergraduate studies earning a degree in Zoology from Weber State University. His post-graduate education continued at the University of Louisville where he received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Dr. French continued his studies at Virginia Commonwealth University where he received his Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certificate.
He has been practicing dentistry in Boise and Mountain Home since 1999. He has performed over 500 Hospital General Anesthesia cases while being credentialed at 3 different hospitals and served as a team Dentist for the Idaho Steelheads Hockey team.
Dr. French has served as a Boy Scout Master and is a licensed soccer coach who coached girls competitive soccer for several years. In his spare time he and his wife, Jennifer, attend their three childrens sporting events. As a family, they like to go camping, hiking, fishing, and spending time with cousins.
Dr. Julie Hess completed her undergraduate studies at Weber State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor degree in Nursing. As a nurse, she worked in medical, surgical, and intensive care units. She later completed her post-graduate education at the University of Kentucky where she received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). She graduated with academic high distinction and received several academic scholarships.
Dr. Hess has practiced dentistry since 2006 in Meridian, Idaho. She loves caring for her patients and strives to create a comfortable and caring environment. Dr. Hess loves children and enjoys making sure that their dental visit is a happy one. She is committed to improving the oral health and appearance of her patient's smiles.
Dr. Hess is actively involved in service opportunities in the community. She is a volunteer in a local cub scout group and has volunteered for the American Red Cross and Operation Smiles. Dr. Hess loves spending time with her husband and son and enjoys hiking, skiing, and camping.
Dr. Blake Imam completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science as well as completing a Bachelor of Arts in Russian. After 5 years of undergraduate studies he continued his post-graduate studies at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where he received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
Since graduation, Dr. Imam has devoted his time and efforts to providing excellent, compassionate, and convenient dental care to the wonderful patients of Willow Tree Dental. Having recently graduated, Dr. Imam continues to keep his knowledge and practice of dentistry current. It is also his privilege to be one of the new owners of Willow Tree Dental along with Drs. Hess and Dowdle.
Dr. Imam lives in Meridian along with his wife and his three amazing children. He loves living in Idaho and enjoys all that living in this beautiful state has to offer. His passions are his family, golfing, fly fishing, camping, wake surfing, anything outdoors, and of course Dentistry.
Dr. Mortensen received his Bachelors Degree in Nutritional Science at BYU in Provo, Utah. His post-graduate education continued at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where he received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
He has been practicing in the treasure valley for several years now. He views his role in oral healthcare as an educator, helping patients make educated decisions about their treatment. His easy-going attitude helps patients feel comfortable in his chair right away.
Dr. Richardson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University. He attained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Upon graduation, Dr. Richardson entered the United States Air Force and completed his General Practice Residency at Scott AFB Regional Hospital in Illinois. From there, he returned to conduct his Periodontal Residency at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle.
Continuing in the military, Dr. Richardson held a number of distinguished positions. Some of his most notable duties included: Director of the USAF Dental Implant course at Keesler AFB, instructor of Dental Residents, and head of the Periodontal Department.
Dr. Richardson's professional memberships include the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and American Board of Periodontology. He is one of a few select periodontists in the state of Idaho that are Board Certified Diplomates by the American Board of Periodontology. Additionally, he is a published contributor to several noted dental research journals. Among these include the Journal of the American Dental Association, General Dentistry, Journal of Dental Research and American Journal of Dentistry.

Been going here for years. Always schedule my next cleaning 6 months in advanced. They do a great job of reminding. Overall, great staff. Get Dr. Hess when you can. She stands out as both capable and caring (Great EQ!). Thank you Willowtree dental for being an ally in keeping teeth healthy.

I would usually give more stars however, this is a bit ridiculous. I had to reschedule my cleaning this coming week due to a conflict - they tell me the next available appt is 2 months out! C'mon people - for a regular cleaning! I am now checking other locations of WT Dental and if I nothing comes up sooner than the end of April....time to switch dentists!

I always have a wonderful experience at Willow Tree, and let me tell you I HATE the dentist! Sometimes I see the same doc, or if it's an emergency, I'll see whomever is there that is available. I've always have wonderful experiences. They numb me up good for even the simplest procedures because I request it, and I have very sensitive teeth. I've had doctors fight me on being numb for certain simple procedures but my comfort always comes first at Willow Tree. The docs always reply with "you know yourself and your body better than I do, if you want it, you got it." They're truly the best office of dental professionals I've been to and I've been to several. Highly recommend them and their amazing team! Not to mention, they've taken the highest precautions to ensure a safe and clean environment during the pandemic.

First complaint I have had in over 10 years. I had a piece of a crown break off, if you have crowns, you know this is an emergency. The girl at the desk said they could see me in 10 days. I told her it is an emergency but still could only get an appointment in 5 days. I know Covidd is a problem but a brojen crown is an emergency because the air hitting the inside as well as hot or cold beverages HURTS! I wish I could have spoken to someone who understands this rathet than a receptionist who just makes appointments. Hope it comes out well in 5 days.

I've been going to Willow Tree Dental since i was 7 years old, and may i just say everytime i go in there it's the most amazing experience, i was never the kid that was afraid of the dentist i LOVED coming to see everyone at willow tree and i still do! keep up the amazing work guys!!!

I was highly impressed with my first visit! The dental cleaning was the best I have ever received. The hygienist was thorough, concerned for my comfort, and was extremely pleasant. The dentist was equally thorough in checking my mouth after the cleaning. I would highly recommend this dental practice.

I love Willow Tree Dentistry. My cleanings are gentle and I get lots of good tips on how to take care of my teeth. I never liked going to the dentist before. I would get very anxious. These guys understand that and let me go at my pace. From cleanings to painful broken tooth and fillings I won't go anywhere else. They understand my feelings about having work done and offer me several options. It's not just about what makes it easier for them like other dentists I've been to. I have tried an option to get through a procedure and found it wouldn't work they were good with stopping and figuring out how to get work done. They even discuss charges fir each option so you know that up front.
