Dr. Britton graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Hampton University, Hampton, Virginia, in 1971 and his D.D.S. from Howard University, Washington, D.C. in 1976. He completed a two-year General Dentistry residency at Fort Hood, Texas in 1983. Dr. Britton is a diplomat of the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry. He is also a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Britton served 22 years in the United States Army Dental Corps and retired in 1999 as a Colonel. Dr. Britton has received many awards and was named Dentist of the year in 2010 by the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Britton enjoys serving his community by volunteering at Good Samaritan Ministries.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Britton is an Elder at St. Bethlehem Christian Church and very active in numerous community activities. He and his wife Nancye are the proud parents of two grown children and have two wonderful grandchildren.

I am Deathly afraid of dentists, but Dr. B showed me how dentists arent all bad, he had TOTALLY changed my outlook. I was nervous nelly when i went the first time, now i am not, they are awesome people, the Doctors and ALL the staff. God Bless all of you!!

Not an enjoyable experience all around. I normally don't write reviews, but this place super irked me. I went there a couple times a while back for a couple different reasons. One being I had an overhang from a previous crown that was causing major discomfort. The dentist essentially told me I was being dramatic and he didn't understand how I was in so much pain because he "couldn't see anything". With our insurance you have to wait 5 years to get a new crown for insurance to cover it and without insurance it was around $800. This office refused to call my insurance company to see about filing a grievance to allow them to give me a new crown for the covered price. I called numerous times over the course of a month I believe and every time they would say they didnt see the purpose in doing that despite me being in major pain when I ate. I then went back because I had a crown fall off, they recemented it back on and I was on my way. This was months ago, not recent at all. The doctor again was rude and unpleasant all around. I decided to start using a different dentist. (This dentist immediately filed a grievance for my overhang, by the way- as it should be. A medical professional who cares about you) Fast-forward to now, I get a bill in the mail for $125 for recementing my crown. Really?? I call and they said they just now got back from my insurance that the recement wasn't covered. I said that usually they will tell the patient how much something is if insurance doesn't cover it. The woman on the phone at their office was honestly the most pleasant person I've ever spoken to at their offices. She was understanding of my frustration, but unfortunately was no help. I just find it ridiculous to sit in a chair for 5 minutes and have a crown recemented and getting charged $125. $75 of that for "oral evaluation" seriously?? I have no issue paying a bill, but it's the serious lack of communication that bothers me. In a professional setting I don't expect rainbows and butterflies, but a little more of welcoming attitudes and better communication would have been appreciated.

Miranda and the staff was excellent!! That is what you want to experience when going into any dentist office! The last time I went to a dentist office ( years ago) it was a very bad visit but I had to go today. The staff was very concerned about you and taking the time to make u feel relax!!! I appreciate them and already made my next appointment!!!

Wonderful practice!! I had my first visit here today for my cleaning. Hygienist was awesome and Dr. B was the nicest, kindest dentist I have ever met. I have already scheduled my 6 month cleaning. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I both agree this is one of the best dentist offices we have ever been. The lady at the front desk was very nice and offered us water, soda or coffee. The dental hygienist was Jenn whom we know from Sango Family Denistry. Like always she does a very thorough job of cleaning your teeth and offers great conversation too. The dentist was Dr. Joseph Britton, he reviewed our X-rays, did a thorough examination and made a point to get to know us since we were new to this office. They never tried to sell us any unnecessary services like so many other dentist offices do. Dr. Britton has a reputation of giving back to our community, he has volunteered at Good Samaritan Medical & Dental Ministry for years. If you are looking for a clean, honest, friendly, and very thorough dentist office I would highly recommend this office, you won't be disappointed.
