To become a Board-Certified orthodontist, dedicated professionals like Dr. Jones have to voluntarily undergo lots of advanced education, hundreds of hours of training beyond dental school, and a rigorous examination process. They also have to showcase a lifelong commitment and passion for continuing education. No two smiles are exactly alike, and the braces we use to straighten them shouldnt be either! Plenty of research has shown that customized braces reduce the number of orthodontic office visits a patient needs, helps them finish their treatment plan in less time, and lead to even better outcomes. Thats why Dr. Jones has invested in state-of-the-art AI technology for a much more precise and hyper-accurate process that helps families sail through these transformations smoothly.
As a child, Dr. Jones attended a Girls in Science Day at Brookhaven Community College. A local dentist took impressions of her teeth and she thought it was the coolest thing she had ever experienced! Later, she started her own orthodontic treatment and even made her own retainer and headgear out of soldering wire and hot glue for fun! She then met a mentor, who was the 9th female orthodontist in the state of Texas. She took Dr. Jones under her wings and taught her about how orthodontic treatment can change lives, and how to provide great care to each of her patients, cementing her decision to go to school to become an orthodontist.
Once Dr. Jones completed her undergraduate career at Southern Methodist University as a Hunt Scholar, she took her dental admission test and received the highest score in the country that year! At Baylor College of Dentistry-Texas A&M Health Science Center, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery and chose to pursue orthodontics as her specialty. She then attended The University of Texas at Houston, one of the top programs in the country, where after 27 months of advanced training, she completed her Masters and Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Jones and her husband Jason, who is an army veteran, have two children named Kenton and Madeline, and an adorable Sheepadoodle named Skye. Whenever shes not in the orthodontic office, youll be able to find her baking, swimming, preparing for her next triathlon, or spending quality time with her loved ones.
For Dr. Hanson, the best thing about her job isnt the teeth, its the people! Nothing makes her happier than enabling a patient to feel comfortable and then working alongside our excellent team to give them a stellar smile. Before joining our practice, she pursued 11 years of higher education to become an engineer, a dentist, and an orthodontist, and now, she is excited to create a beautiful, healthy smile with you. Dr. Hanson never knew she wanted to be an orthodontist growing up--no one in her family was a doctor or dentist. She was a mechanical engineering major in college, and she did an internship with a medical device company after her freshman year that got her interested in biology and the human applications of engineering. She then started considering some of the medical professions after that because she loved interacting with people. After shadowing an orthodontist, she was hooked because it was all of her passions combined: engineering, getting to work with people, and a fast-paced environment!
Dr. Hanson graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, where she eventually saw the light and decided to switch to dentistry. She went on to earn her DDS degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. While there, she earned numerous awards, was nominated to join the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and was frequently on the Deans Student Excellence List.
After dental school, Dr. Hanson completed a two-year orthodontic residency in Houston, earning a Master of Science in Dentistry along with her Certificate in Orthodontics. She has since had her work published in both the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics.
When shes not crafting smiles at the office, Dr. Hanson loves making guacamole and eating tacos with her husband, Troy. They met in the engineering program at UT, and he works as a strategy consultant. The Hansons enjoy being outdoors and traveling to places with mountains where they can hike or go snow skiing. Dr. Hanson likes learning new things, whether from a podcast, book, or documentary, so when you see her, make sure you recommend your recent favorites!

Dr . Jones never finished my treatment so now I am left with a ton of gear in my mouth I have to get removed and start treatment some where else. The staff is very over worked and treated very poorly by the Doctor. This office used to care about giving amazing results and care now it seems they only care about opening more offices. $$$. This is a horrible place! Be very careful when you choose an orthodontist. This place over charged me! My son only went this place for 3 times treatment. This place charged me more than $1800 for their experience treatment! Also, the skill of the technician is too bad! My son complained the braces is too irritating.

I had a great experience at Willow Bend Orthodontics in Plano. Dr Jones and her staff are friendly, organized and very knowledgeable at all levels. I had to get Invisalign to help with realignment of my lower teeth and adjust the upper as well. They have state of the art equipment to take care of all your needs and I felt like I was in great hands with awesome results.

Being on Zoom calls after the onset of the pandemic drew my attention to the fact that, over the last several years, my teeth had spaced out and there was a noticeable (at least to me) gap between two of my upper teeth. It took me a while to get up the courage to call Willow Bend Orthodontics, but I am glad I did. My dentist recommended them, which was a great indication that they were a high-quality operation. Everyone I interacted with at Willow Bend Orthodontics was great, from initial contact to final appointment recently. All the staff are very friendly. The person who answered the phone and booked my initial appointment was very knowledgeable and reassuring; I did not realize it the time but it was actually Dr. Tamara Jones herself. Once I had been to the office, Dr. Jones and her staff took the time to thoroughly explain the options available to me, pros and cons, associated timeframes and costs. The office runs like clockwork; for every appointment I had, the staff and Dr. Jones were on time, if not early, and worked efficiently to get me out of there qucikly. I am very pleased with the results of my Invisaligns. Thank you Dr. Jones and all the staff at Willow Bend Orthodontics!

I am a mom of two boys. We started a little late with their orthodontics, and they both were complicated cases. Dr. Jones introduced us to a great surgeon and led us through all the steps. She and her team went out of their way to make sure the boys were ready to get in and out of their braces and get the end result - a beautiful smile!

I would highly recommend Dr. Jones and her practice to anyone looking for orthodontic care. She is professional, punctual, and her office staff is great. I had such a great experience as an adult getting braces. They make sure your comfortable with the process and satisfied with the results. Dr. Jones is the nicest doctors I've ever meet. Incredible service and support during the entire overwhelming task of braces for your preteen teenager or you as an adult. They don't hound you over cost and pressure you to make a decision immediately. They simply explain the simple math. Pay in full you are going to save huge. Pay it out monthly, that's what my parents did, received the same awesome service above and beyond regardless of how much you are able to pay. They are in the smile business for a reason, she has unmatched education and is the only female orthodontist in Plano and Richardson and you will leave so excited for what you are about to watch over the next 18 months to 2 years. It's called Orthodontics and Dr. Tamara Jones is the leader of the dental team for our whole family. She starts the ship and for good reason she has the education to make sure you are going to look amazing in your SMILE. No doubt I would do it again and again and again if I had more kiddos that needed her expertise. You won't be disappointed and if for some reason you are disappointed, sit down and she will answer any and all questions you have and let's you make an informed decision... It's a big one, but I have never written a check so fast and felt so great and thankful for the opportunity to have someone who is going to help you with your orthodontic needs. Believe me or don't. I rarely do these kind of reviews it's only on those few occasions that I have been blown away by the kindness, Customer service, they answer the phone on the first ring... That one item deserves 5 stars why, cause they are showing us that they know what we are going to tell them on that call is important and they are going to listen and do everything in the dental bag to take care of you and yours. You are not a check number, you are a client and a friend for life even when you graduate and get braces off, that doesn't mean see you, it means come back if you have any questions or issues we are your orthodontic team .

Both myself (completed) and my oldest have been to Dr. Jones for treatment. My youngest will be soon. One of the things we love most is how conservative she is. No unnecessary treatments suggested, and no rushing to treat too early as others suggested which would require two rounds of braces. Willowbend also offers a most affordable plan. The office is run so smoothly and always the sweetest reception! She also is patient and understanding with anxieties and special needs. Would highly recommend (and often do) to everyone. We love Dr.Jones!

Willow Bend Orthodontics is the blue print of how a true team operates. My daughter and I had the most professional experience. The team was extremely attentive to our needs and personable. Dr. Jones NEVER hesitates to meet her patient's needs as well as educate them throughout treatment. It is truly bittersweet that our need for their service has come to an end, it's like saying goodbye to family.
