Preventive care is mandatory to reach optimal dental health. In order to deliver successful dental care, we provide regular scheduled exams to observe and maintain the overall health of your smile. Your regular exam will include oral cancer screenings, X-rays to detect problems within the structures of your mouth, routine cleanings and fluoride treatments when necessary. Another important aspect of preventive care is your medical and dental history. We will closely examine your previous dental and medical records to provide you with the best preventive care possible.

Patient safety is one of our main focuses at Willoughby Dental. Our practice meets and exceeds safety procedures endorsed by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We use quality dental gloves, masks and disinfectant hand soaps. Equipment is sterilized and chemically disinfected prior to your visit. At the conclusion of every exam, the plastic covers on dental chairs, dental tools and equipment are properly disposed of to ensure a sterile office environment. A sterile dental office is obligatory for infection control.

Education is highly valued amongst our dental team. Each member of our professional dentistry team is trained and certified to deliver exceptional care. In order to provide you with the best dental care, each team member is enrolled in dental training classes and lectures, and regularly attends dental conventions. Dr. Matthew S. Warner is a Graduate of Denison University, where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. While at Denison University he was a four-year member of the Varsity basketball team and was voted team captain by his teammates. Dr. Warner then attended Ohio State University College of Dentistry and graduated with a DDS degree in 2007. After graduation, he practiced as a Managing Clinical Director in Cleveland, Ohio for two and a half years. While living and working in Ohio, Dr. Warner was a member of the Cleveland Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and American Dental Association. Since his move to South Carolina, Dr. Warner has played an integral role in two practices in the Greenville/ Greer Upstate area prior to opening Willoughby Dental. He is currently a member of the South Carolina Dental Association and the Greenville Dental Society. Dr. Warner has completed training with DOCS Oral Sedation, Clearcorrect Aligners, and Mini-Dental Implants. This allows for a more broad range of treatment options for his patients. Dr. Warner feels that it is very important to keep updated on all of the newest techniques and methods of treatment so he can offer the very best to his patients.

He also enjoys being active in the community and feels that it is important to give back! He has given his time to organizations to help serve those in need of dental care here in Greenville South Carolina, at the DAD (Dental Access Days), as well as in other states.

Dr. Warner truly enjoys dentistry and helping patients achieve their goal of a healthy mouth. Dr. Warner wants patients to not only understand what treatment is recommended but why that particular treatment would be best for the patient. That is why patient education is so important to him. Dr. Warner can often be seen in the office conversing with patients, our friendly staff, or colleagues when he is not hard at work in the treatment room. When he does have spare time out of the office, Dr. Warner loves to spend time with his family (Wife Jennifer and his three children Wesley, Asbury, and Lincoln) and friends. He also enjoys golf, playing recreational basketball, work outs with F3, cycling, and he especially loves spending time at the beach!

Toya was born and raised in South Carolina. After graduation from a local high school she attended University of South Carolina where she earned a bachelor of science degree GO GAMECOCKS. Toya has been in and around the field of dentisry for over 20 years and has been with Willoughby Dental since its opening.

Amanda is originally from Florida where she received her Dental Hygiene degree from Edison State College. She became licensed in South Carolina in 2009 and shortly after relocating to the upstate Amanda became part of the Willoughby Dental team! She strives to create a pleasant experience for each patient and feels privileged to help patients improve and maintain their oral health. Outside of the office Amanda loves spending time with her husband and 3 boys! She enjoys coffee, music, antique shopping, scary movies and photography in her spare time. Amanda likes to know her patients on a personal level and is eager to continue to provide exceptional care to patients of all ages!!

Tasha was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. She left home to join the United States Marines and was stationed in Jacksonville NC for 4 years. Tasha then attended UNCW for Psychology and the Institute of Dental Technology of Kentucky for her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification. She also attained her nitrous oxide certification right here at Greenville Tech. Outside of dentistry, Tasha enjoys spending time with her daughter, traveling, reading and training/competing in Olympic Weightlifting. Tasha is compassionate by nature and is always happy to communicate with her patients and help keep them at ease through their dental treatment.

Preventative care is essential for both children and adults. Visiting the dentist twice a year will prevent serious dental issues from developing. Brushing and flossing are important, but they arent able to remove all the plaque from your teeth. Only a professional dental cleaning from a dental hygienist can thoroughly clean your teeth.

Fluoride treatments are another important step in your preventative care routine. These treatments strengthen your teeth and help prevent plaque buildup. Sealants can also be added to help prevent cavities especially in children who arent always as thorough at taking care of their teeth.

Even people who are great at brushing and flossing can develop dental issues. Cavities usually require fillings. Sometimes, tooth decay advances enough that the tooth requires extraction. Other times, a tooth will require extraction because it is impacted (cannot erupt correctly through the gumline). Dr. Warner will extract the tooth in an environment thats as stress-free as possible.
