Dr. William McMaugh grew up in Stratford, Connecticut. After serving in the Air Force, he completed his schooling in California. He received his bachelor's of science degree from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and his dental degree from the University of Southern California. He practiced in California for several years before moving back east to be closer to family.
After his return to the area, Dr. McMaugh taught at Temple University and maintained a private practice in Abington. He also had a practice in Lederach, and three years ago, he combined the two to open the office in Harleysville, where he now resides.
Dr. McMaugh is a lifelong learner and continues to update and expand his knowledge of new treatments and techniques. He loves working in the field of dentistry because he believes it is the perfect mix of the applied sciences, engineering, and art.
He truly enjoys helping others and holds himself to the highest standard of excellence in dental care. His team recently traveled to Guatemala to participate in a week-long humanitarian/mission trip to provide free dental treatments for the needy indigenous population.
Dr. McMaugh has one grown daughter who works in New York. He and his wife, Amy, currently live in Harleysville and are busy raising three beautiful children. During their free time, they enjoy physical fitness, golfing, and working on projects around the house.

I was always dreading going to the dentist and some of my experiences were never always great ones. Since I have found Dr. McMaugh, I don't mind a bit and appreciate his honest and sincere input when I ask questions about treatment and the condition of my teeth. I never feel pressured to do any procedure that I don't have to and have had only great experiences with the past procedures that I have had. I recommend his office highly. Again all I have to add is that the office and Dr. McMaugh are compassionate and considerate. They have worked with me when I had financial issues and needed to make payments for my procedures and never pushed me in anyway for payment. I recommend this office highly.

Best dental practice ever! You will not regret trusting your teeth to Dr McMaugh and his staff. They are just wonderful. I am NOT a fan of dental treatment, but they are very sensitive to that and take care of me without discomfort. You will love everyone on the staff, I promise.

I have been a patient for more than 15 years. Dr. McMaugh is The BEST. I would not trust my dental care to anyone else. Dr. McMaugh and staff (Amy & Carol) have always provided care in the patients best interest. The technology is amazing. X-rays are immediately viewable on a monitor at each operatory. Dr. McMaugh can show you the areas of concern and then explain the procedure needed for your care. Negative pressure rooms with hepa filters were constructed during COVID to safeguard the patient and staff. This attention to detail is what I want and need for my dental health.

We would not travel one hour away to see Dr. McMaugh if he didn't take care of us professionally. Staff is courteous and very attentive. Dr. McMaugh has kept our teeth and mouth healthy for over 40 years. We trust him and he is very patient with my husband who is sick now. Shows compassion and so does his staff. Can't imagine going to another Doctor. Thank you Dr. McMaugh and Staff for all you do for us.

I had a very nice visit today for a cleaning. I had a new Dental Hygienist her name was Lindsey. She had a great personality and was very professional and through with the cleaning of my teeth. You don't mind going to the Dentist when you have a pleasant experience.
