Panoramic X-rays: Also known as orthopantomograms or panoramic radiographs, panoramic x-rays provide a full panoramic view of your upper and lower jaw and teeth, jaw bones and joints. Its essentially a two-dimensional overview of your teeth and the structures supporting them. It is particularly useful for the detection of impacting wisdom teeth, the source of tooth aches and pains, and the locations of extreme periodontal damage.

Cephalometric X-rays: Cephalometric X-rays function in the same way as panoramic x-rays, except they provide a radiograph of the side view of a patients skull. Cephalometrix x-rays allow dentists to investigate the growth patterns of a patients jaw prior to orthodontic treatment.
