Dr. William Fessler completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame in 1980, and received his DDS from Georgetown University in 1984. After completing his residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in 1985, he responded to an ad on the back of the ADA (American Dental Association) Journal, which led him to Norwalk, CT in 1986.
Dr. Fessler fell in love with the greater Norwalk community, especially the diversity it encompasses, and has been practicing here ever since. He understands that with the blessings he has been given, comes a responsibility to help others. This mindset motivates him on a daily basis to serve his patients with compassion and excellence.
Dr. Fessler and his wife, Mary Beth, reside in New Canaan, CT. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and giving back to the community through several councils and committees. Dr. Fessler also donates his time and resources to area clergy and nuns, teachers, residents of Malta House for Unwed Mothers, Norwalk Smiles, and A Better Chance (ABC) students and staff. Some of the many local organizations Dr. Fessler also supports include: Stepping Stone Museum, Norwalk and Brien McMahon High Schools, New Canaan High School, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and Norwalk YMCA.
In order to spread healthy smiles beyond his office doors, Dr. Fessler passionately volunteers his time and talents to the Somos Amigos Clinic in the Dominican Republic, and the dental clinic at the NPH Orphanage in Honduras, which he founded. He credits his achievements to his faith, the wonderful education he received, and the love and support of his family. Dr. Fesslers commitment to helping the underprivileged goes beyond the dental field, as he serves on the Board of Malta, and as an emeritus Area Co-Chair of the CT Order of Malta (a 900-year-old Catholic lay order).

William Fessler Family Dentistry has an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate team. Most of our hygienists, dental assistants, and support staff have worked together in the practice for over 10 years. In fact, we have a hygienist who has been with Dr. Fessler for 20 years, while two of his assistants have worked for him since they were in high school. Our practice also employs one staff member who is completely dedicated to handling patients insurance claims.
All of our staff members are CPR certified, and our hygienists are not only conscientious about keeping their licensing current, but continue to expand their knowledge through continuing education courses. Most recently, our assistants achieved DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification in Radiation Health, and Safety & Infection Control.

We have been patients of Fessler Family Dentistry for YEARS, long before our children (now 10 and 8) were even born. Despite moving out of Norwalk to another neighboring town 4.5 years ago, we've continued to come to Norwalk for our family's dental needs, because the practice is just THAT incredible (and our children even LIKE going to the dentist!). Last week though Dr. Fessler earned our eternal gratitude and loyalty when our son suffered a severe dental emergency after office hours, around 7pm (not including photos in this review of before/after, as the before is quite gruesome). We called the office, indicated it was an emergency, and Dr. Fessler responded IMMEDIATELY and then dropped everything he was doing to rush to help. No hesitation, no delay - THAT is a doctor who cares DEEPLY about his patients and their well-being. Cannot thank Dr. Fessler and his assistant (who also dropped everything she was doing to rush in and support him) enough. Their incredibly quick response and actions gave our son the BEST possible chance and we will forever be indebted to them. If you're looking for a TRUE family dental practice, and a doctor and staff that genuinely CARE about their patients, you will find that and so much more at Fessler Family Dentistry!

I bit my lip and developed a painful cyst. I texted Dr. Fessler a picture and he responded right away, sent me a link to read about what it was and made time in his schedule to see me the very next day. The appointment could not have been easier -- he saw me as soon as I arrived and painlessly removed the cyst with a small laser within 15 mins! Thank you, Dr. Fessler!

I am quite happy and satisfied with the Fessler Family Dentistry. Dr. Fessler and Dr. Silard are wonderful. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. I like that they always keep us updated with the needed appointments and are always flexible with scheduling. Would recommend!

This place scams new patients, they send me a bill every month! Went in as a new patient for a regular cleaning, which was covered by insurance, they didn't charge me during the visit. Later, they claimed I own them $128.6 and keep sending me a bill every month. Total scam, stay away!!! It's been four months now, they still keep sending bills. I've ever seen such greedy dental office!

I've been coming to Dr. Fessler for over 20 years. Dr. Fessler and his staff are super friendly and very professional. They always do a great job. Today I had a work call that ran 20 minutes into my appointment and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They still managed to fit me in.

I moved to Norwalk earlier this year and started going to Fessler Family Dentistry soon after I arrived here. I'm glad I stumbled upon this dental office because I've been very pleased with the quality of care I've received so far. I mostly see Dr. Silard and he is currently overseeing my Invisalign treatment, I'm about halfway through the process and so far very happy with the experience and the results. It's very convenient to get Invisalign done here rather than having to find a separate orthodontist. The office staff here are all very nice and there is never a long wait in the waiting room. The operating hours are also convenient for me.
