Dr. William Fessler completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame in 1980, and received his DDS from Georgetown University in 1984. After completing his residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in 1985, he responded to an ad on the back of the ADA (American Dental Association) Journal, which led him to Norwalk, CT in 1986.
Dr. Fessler fell in love with the greater Norwalk community, especially the diversity it encompasses, and has been practicing here ever since. He understands that with the blessings he has been given, comes a responsibility to help others. This mindset motivates him on a daily basis to serve his patients with compassion and excellence.
Dr. Fessler and his wife, Mary Beth, reside in New Canaan, CT. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and giving back to the community through several councils and committees. Dr. Fessler also donates his time and resources to area clergy and nuns, teachers, residents of Malta House for Unwed Mothers, Norwalk Smiles, and A Better Chance (ABC) students and staff. Some of the many local organizations Dr. Fessler also supports include: Stepping Stone Museum, Norwalk and Brien McMahon High Schools, New Canaan High School, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and Norwalk YMCA.
In order to spread healthy smiles beyond his office doors, Dr. Fessler passionately volunteers his time and talents to the Somos Amigos Clinic in the Dominican Republic, and the dental clinic at the NPH Orphanage in Honduras, which he founded. He credits his achievements to his faith, the wonderful education he received, and the love and support of his family. Dr. Fesslers commitment to helping the underprivileged goes beyond the dental field, as he serves on the Board of Malta, and as an emeritus Area Co-Chair of the CT Order of Malta (a 900-year-old Catholic lay order).

William Fessler Family Dentistry has an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate team. Most of our hygienists, dental assistants, and support staff have worked together in the practice for over 10 years. In fact, we have a hygienist who has been with Dr. Fessler for 20 years, while two of his assistants have worked for him since they were in high school. Our practice also employs one staff member who is completely dedicated to handling patients insurance claims.
All of our staff members are CPR certified, and our hygienists are not only conscientious about keeping their licensing current, but continue to expand their knowledge through continuing education courses. Most recently, our assistants achieved DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification in Radiation Health, and Safety & Infection Control.
