Dr. Strutzwas born in Detroit, Michigan.He grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas where he graduated from Immaculata High School.He completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University with a B. S. in Zoology.He played midfield on Michigan State's lacrosse team.
He graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1981.Dr. Strutzcompleted his training in Periodontics at UMKC School of Dentistry in 1983.He has practiced in Shawnee, Kansas since graduation.Dr. Strutz had a successfulsatellitepractice with a large group in Manhattan, KS for 15 years. He also has served as an Assistant Professor of Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
He is married to Patricia Strutz and lives in Shawnee, KS.He enjoys aerobic and resistance fitness training, cooking, photography, and is a self taught maker leaded and stained glass windows.Dr. Strutz was a contestant on thelong-runningtelevision show,Jeopardy.

Dr. Strutz was absolutely wonderful. He was honest and very thorough with his treatment, he definitely knows what he's doing and he's very good at it. Since my treatment I've noticed not only a significant improvement in my gums but my overall health. He answers his phone, calls you back, and gives his patients the individual attention they deserve. I trust his work and would highly recommend him to anyone that is in need of periodontal care.

Dr. Strutz and his staff are very friendly and straight forward. If you are looking for an honest and professional periodontist he is your doctor. If you need care, he'll devise a plan for you. If you don't, you don't, there is no upsell!

I was referred to Dr. Strutz by my primary dental care provider. Dr. Strutz was professional, informative, and has a great personality to boot! Wonderful periodontist. Very honest, straightforward, knowledgeable, and down to earth. This place wants to help people. Dr. Strutz gives his new patients a full periodontal examination with x-rays at no cost. He then finished up our session telling me that my gums were healthy and that I didn't need any periodontal work done. He and his staff are wonderful people. Very, very pleasant experience. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor. I made an appointment for a consult but forgot and didn't show up to my appointment the first time, Dr. Strutz was understanding and rescheduled me in a timely manner. My general dentist mentioned I may need a gum graft. During my consult, the office took several X-rays (which caught something growing in my nasal cavity that is questionable), educated me about periodontal disease, and did a thorough exam of my mouth. Dr. Strutz gave his honest opinion that I don't need a gum graft at this time and made me feel very relieved. He spent an hour of his time with me for free! I feel so blessed to have gone to this office. I highly recommend!

I was referred through Veterans Affairs Community Care program. Dr. Strutz was kind, courteous and took the time to explain to me about gum disease and how his treatment would treat it. I have seen positive results in my periodontal treatments. I wish I would have seen him a few years ago. I would still have a lot more teeth.

Dr Stutz quoted me half what other dentist did, but even better other dentist told me wife she needed a $1,000 deep clean but Stutz said she just needs standard cleaning. Most honest dentist and man you'll find. A++++++

Excellent care, gives detailed treatment plans. Is always ready to help if something needs attention after a procedure. Him and his assistant are wonderful people. I would highly recommend him. His pain management skills are the best experience I have ever had in a dental chair. Honestly I will miss the interaction with Doc. I do have just one more thing for Doc GO ARMY BEAT NAVY

I found Dr Strutz to be very knowledgeable and was able to explain what the various diseases of the gums and bone structure around them were. He was very extensive in his initial evaluation for me. He and his office staff were very cordial.
