If I could give 0 I would, but giving 1 star because of the kind and caring support staff. I genuinely feel bad for those that are stuck with this "dentistry" practice. After reading other 1 star reviews I felt my concerns with my recent experience valid. My 6 year old struggled with the needles to induce numbness and the level of patience and empathy from Dr. Stevens was next to none. He abruptly ended my sons treatment out of his safety and my son's as if my son was a wild and out of control animal. To an extent I understand, but his approach was degrading and absolutely would create anyone's fear of the dentist. In general it felt like he was the king and we were the sorry people. Thank god open enrollment is approaching and we can switch dentist providers.

All of the dental staff have attitude problems. If it wasn't the only location that accepted my insurance, I would go elsewhere.

*Please Read This!!!* Please avoid this dentist at all costs. It is unbelievable how they practice. I went in to start the process of getting braces, and before I had to do that I had to get an oral checkup. During the checkup they said I had seven cavities that needed to filled and that I needed to have them filled before I could see an orthodontist. What is insane is that they would only fill two teeth at a time rather than all seven at once, which was ridiculous. The dentist's reasoning behind it was: "we can only do two at a time because we don't want to numb your whole mouth at once". On top of that, when you schedule an appointment, they always said that their next opening was in two to three months. I just wanted to see an orthodontist to get braces and they were taking so long, so I decided to change dental insurance to go to a new dentist. I told my new dentist and my new orthodontist about how Willamette Dental Group would only do two fillings at a time and their reasoning for why the only did two fillings at a time. Both my new dentist and orthodontist told me that they were completely lying to me. They said they could have absolutely filled all seven in one appointment. My orthodontist even told me the exact reason why they go slow, and it's because Willamette charges based on each individual appointment instead of an upfront payment for the overall procedure. He told me that he has heard how they are run, and said they purposefully go as slow as possible to make the most money that they can. It was also crazy that Willamette wanted to fill some cavities before I could consult with an orthodontist first, because I might have had to have teeth removed, which is actually what happened. Some of the teeth that Willamette filled now needs to be removed so that I can have braces. So that means I wasted time and money getting those teeth filled when they were just going to get removed anyway. This wouldn't have happened if Willamette had me consult an orthodontist beforehand. So overall, don't go here. This dental group will waste your time and your money!!!

Update: No response other than the final denial letter I received late last year, and referral to the state if I wanted to escalate this further. However, I was contacted by the oral surgery center that did the work that I had to paid for out of pocket. They said they received payment from Willamette Dental for the work completed for my son with impacted wisdom teeth (previously they would only pay for 1 tooth), as well for the emergency oral surgery for my other son. If you are using Willamette Dental Group, understand that you are you own best advocate, if they are not doing the dental hygiene care timely each year make sure to get everything scheduled, ask if you think you need an extra appointment. Ask questions, if you are not happy or unsure about the care you are receiving reach out to their support before it gets to the point of an emergency. If an emergency does happen be prepared to appeal every decision with everything you remember, and with any medical/dental records you can get your hands on. When you see how little is recorded on the dental side you will understand the uphill battle. Update: got confirmation that they do not cover anything not related to the patients prescribed preventive treatment plan, even if this plan lead to almost killing your child. Do not count on this as dental insurance for emergencies. Also do not trust them with your family's dental health. You are better off going with an insurance you can choose a trusted provider. I know good dentists that used to work for Willamette that told me that they left due to their unethical business practices. Will be going with delta dental going forward. Bye bye Willamette. Would not recommend Willamette dental to anyone. They make business decisions to our dental health that are life threatening in hopes to make more money. Thank you, Willamette Dental group, for delaying my son's treatment of an infected tooth for nearly 2 years, the Willamette Dentist said I likely need to have emergency then having the contracted pediatric dental come back in 10 days with prescribed antibiotics when his face cavity up to his eye was clearly infected and needed immediate medical attention. When I tried to make the appointment for the earliest they could see him was in over 30 days. I then tried get another opinion from urgent care as I really did not want to Goto the ER if they couldn't do anything there. The Doctor said I should probably go to the ER. So, I followed the Willamette Dentist advice and went to emergency care as the infection was up to his eye socket at this point. The Oral Surgeon Post Op told me that had I not brought my son in he could have died. That was January 2021. September 2021, I get a letter stating that Willamette will not cover the emergency care as they still erroneously believe that he could have waited 10 days with an Antibiotic that would not have worked in time. My oldest son had 4 impacted wisdom teeth. Apparently, the business admin felt that only 1 needed to be removed for now, that I would have to pay out of pocket for the other 3 or make my son get each one taken out individually. So overall I paid 3 times the monthly premiums, and still had to pay $3K for all they weaseled themselves out of the so-called full coverage dental insurance. Never again......

**Hanford employees, listen up** Go with Delta dental for your dental coverage rather than this sorry excuse of a business. They have a Dr in there that has been named in other Google reviews for his lack of professionalism and empathy towards mothers of children. We had an incident with Dr stevens that was completely offensive and it led to us leaving willamette only after our first visit. I informed their headquarters and put up a review when this first happened but after being contacted by their "social media rep" she told me they would absolutely handle the issue as she agreed he definitely stepped out of line and I removed my original review. Well now that I've received an official letter stating that Dr Stevens was within his rights and there was no wrongdoing found, I've decided to review them as they deserve. After talking about my experience with other fellow hanford employees, I've found that this is bottom of the barrel dentistry. As an employee of hanford we fortunately get two choices for dental coverage. For those new employees deciding which to go with, I hope I've helped you make the right decision for yourself and family. Keep your family dentist and enroll with delta.

The fear factor at it's best..every time I come to my appointment these people scares me with their "clinical advises" and whatnot if I don't come back next time or if I did not take care a plaque... Maybe a marketing strategy?? Go somewhere else if you have a choice.

I have been with this dental clinic for about one year. Before that usually we get cleanings every six months as routine. So I call because I want a cleaning for myself and spouse. Member services tells me that we can only get a dental cleaning here once a year as recommended by the doctor because my "hygiene was so good" per staff at the Richland office. I stated if I am paying for insurance I want a cleaning every six months, not when the dentist recommends it. Otherwise what's the point of paying for dental insurance and going through Willamette. The staff member at the Richland office said well we will see when the dentist comes back from vacation in a week. If I'm paying for insurance then why the hell can I not get a cleaning every six months. This is the worse experience I had with the 1800 customer service and Richland staff . After next insurance enrollment period I will be looking for another dental office.

The dentist was beyond rude and treated me like a child. I'm 37 years old. I'll gladly go find a new dentist. I will never go to Willamette dental again.

I really like this Dental group. The dentists and staff are always nice and calming. My only complaint is I cannot get through to the appointment desk. Its been like this the past year. I've been in hold for over 40 minutes today and over an hour Friday. I have to work! I'd like to reschedule my daughter's appointment but have such a hard time getting through. It's extremely frustrating. They should create an option to reschedule on the website since the answering service is lacking.

Willamette is fantastic! The most professional and caring dentist that I have ever experienced. They are very flexible and I have called for last minute issues on numerous occasions and always been taken care of immediately. Thank you Willamette!

Beware they do not allow you to get your teeth checked and cleaned every 6 months as I have done most of my life. I am picking the tartar off the back of my teeth on my own because the dentist determined my teeth were in good shape when I was in 8 months ago. I still find the standard recommendation is to get your teeth cleaned every 6 months they just do not allow it. Perhaps the insurance payment has something to do with it. The cleaning & care was good in the past, I just do not like the fact you can only get them cleaned once a year!

I loved this dental office the staff the dentist my complaint is with the insurance. Completely feel screwed over and forced to pay more then I was initially quoted!! I've never been so frustrated in my life! Tried to talk to.them.on the phone and they twisted my words. Sad thing is I'm.stuck with them until the duration of my treatment or I will be forced to pay according to them 8,000 in total for the invasalign which again according to them is the retail price. I've never felt more bamboozled. I spoke to the insurance rep so many hours before my benefit change and I was assured I would not have to pay more money since I already had paid my part in full! Ha what a lie what a joke! Now they are trying to get more money out of me seriously! On top.of that I'm sick and home with possibly corona and they have the gall to call me.to collect money during this pandemic! I'm appalled. Again their staff and doctors are great it's their insurance that are swindlers.

They try hard but it is clear the expertise and experience goes as far as a year or two out of their training. My families experience is inconsistent. My husband likes the dentist he went to this last time, but the change over happens so often there is no guarantee you will ever see the same doctor. If you have a special needs kid, they do not know how to handle or respect their needs for regular health checks. The ortho side, very disappointing. I have seen several instances that the hygienist slipped jabbing my daughter on the side of the mouth with her tool while removing wires and bands as well as breaking brackets while saying my daughter broke her brackets to the Doctor when they came to check her teeth. They talk down to their clients, they scold their clients and shame them. The doctor and hygienist openly were talking about their dating life as if they were the only two in the room. No privacy is an issue and clients should be aware of this before going here. I witnessed this last visit where a client was objecting paying with his visa and was a bit long winded in his explanation , after he left the room the hygienist who all had clients in their chairs were talking openly about the gentleman negatively and his age prohibiting him from understanding how Visas work. I am not impressed by their lack of professionalism, how they treat clients and their skill level. Having had braces myself at one time, the experience should never be negative or shaming to a client. No one wants to hear about your personal life and where you and the hygienist go, who you went home with or how cute you think military men are. Get a grip.
