Dr. Wang is so gentle I practically slept through my first ever root canal. The hardest part was signing the paperwork - my handwriting is not pretty once the novocaine takes effect!

I have been a willamette dental patient for years. My daughter and I see Michael the hygienist and he is amazing. He is the only one we will see. He is thorough and explains everything. He is gentle and when we leave he makes sure all our questions are answered. Keep up the awesome work Michael, we will see you next year!

If I could give zero star I would. My boyfriend had an excruciating pain coming from his bottom wisdom tooth. He went in to get it examined and he was told it was fine just rinse with water. A day later passed still in excruciating pain that sent him into the ER. He had a dental abscess which is not curable with a good old rinse of the mouth. Not only was it extremely hard to get the soonest date available for the removal of it but all the ladies could care less. It was extremely sad to see someone in so much pain for over a week, when it could have been prevented. This is why good dental issuance is so important because of this instance he is terrified for life. Thank you for teaching us life lessons.

I am giving a one star review because there is no option for 0 stars or for the closure of the clinic. Attached is a photo of what I looked like at my appointment where I also described my wisdom tooth pain. Dentist told me everything is fine and to swish around salt water. For several days after, I called many times with extreme pain and worsening symptoms and they did nothing but refuse to approve any sort of dental work. Had to call emergency number at 2AM one night for them to finally prescribe me something because they continued to refuse to see me and would not approve a prescription to extract my wisdom tooth. With each call, I described my symptoms, and how they continue to get far worse. After a week of tears, no sleep, missing work, being absolutely broken, and calling with the same symptoms- they suggested to go to the emergency room where I found out I had an obvious dental abscess and I need to get that wisdom tooth removed immediately. Still, it took Willamette many days to even approve a referral for extraction. Once I showed up to oral surgery (not associated with Willamete), the surgeon was very confused and upset that it took me this long to get to surgery because this was easily noticeable and most likely will result in loss of surrounding teeth and could have been life threatening if untreated for any longer. Concluding this, all I cared about was getting the rest of my wisdom teeth out to avoid this happening again. Willamette refused this because they don't do "preventative care". I attempted to plead my case which took several months for a decision, which resulted in no approval for extraction if I'm not having pain and a refusal of covering even 1 cent of my emergency room bill for a serious infection that they missed and caused from a lack of proper care. They're decision was to save money and not pay for treatments that could be unnecessary longer term. A few weeks later, same situation happened and and they approved the removal of just one more wisdom tooth, but not the others. A few more weeks and the same situation happened, resulting in 3 separate surgeries for 3 separate wisdom teeth. Willamette dental group prides their practice on not pursuing "preventive care" of any kind... which is ultimately what the dentist is for. At the Olympia clinic, the Asian dentist should resign as a result of malpractice. The company itself is an absolute disgrace to the medical field and deserves all the negative reviews that it continues to get. The main decision for not approving any sort of financial assistance for the emergency room visit was because the hospital was not within 50 miles of the clinic- but the hospital was 25 miles away. (Photo attached) Anyone in a career of law and justice should highly consider spending a minute amount of time in developing a lawsuit to close this clinic (because of how easy it would be) and help many good people avoid a dental practice that does more harm than good.

If you like a dentist that doesn't do "preventative care" and forces you to go to the emergency room before they will help- this is a fantastic place for you!!!

I am a dental assistant and my mother went here, she was mistreated and told because she smokes she can't have her teeth cleaned, which is absolutely ridiculous...please go anywhere but to willamette for dental care. Already reported them to Better Business Bureau. I already talked to willamette about them mistreating my mother and nobody cares....but boy do they try to act like they care when you write a review.

I had a great experience! Elizabel (dental assistant) and Dr.Kang both made sure I was at ease, gave me all of the information I needed and left feeling that I was in good hands. Best dentist visit I've ever had. Thank you

Very affordable. Caring staff. Cleaned my husband's teeth really well, as it was his first time having a dental cleaning appointment. Cannot recommend them enough.

Avoid this place unless you ONLY need regular cleanings and fillings. And despite owner responses citing patients are their #1 priority, I can assure you this is false. My Experience: 2018: I started having pain in one of my molars, sensitive to cold and crunch. I tell my Dentist, they couldn't find anything wrong. Over the next 18 months, it got worse, with my mentioning at each of my visits, only to get the same response: nothing wrong. Eventually, they tried to get me in to see their in house endodontist. I was unable to schedule that appointment, because I was working each time they tried to call me to schedule the appointment. Upon call back, I was on hold with their call center for the entirety of my break, never to be answered. July 2020: It wasn't until after COVID that their wait times dropped below 30 minutes that I was finally able to get through to someone. The pain is getting worse, so I get in and tell them something is wrong. They do a filling on the tooth. This helps for a few weeks before the pain comes back. November 2020: I play phone tag for months trying to get back in. They put a temporary crown on, but did a poor job. Now, the crown has actually relieved the pain in that tooth. However, it was not filed down correctly, and damaged the opposing tooth below it. Queue the most unimaginable pain I have ever felt in my life, right over a long 2020 Thanksgiving weekend. I get back in, and they are telling me it was a "trauma" to the lower tooth. I had had ZERO issues with that tooth my entire life up until this crown was put in. I go back in, and they tell me it was my fault, and recommend extraction. Jan 2021: I go out of network to a competent dentist. They say the tooth is salvageable; it needs a root canal. I try to get in for a root canal here since they are the only ones in the area that take my insurance. They tell me it's not worth saving, and recommend extraction and an implant. I get a second opinion elsewhere, find the tooth is salvageable, and pay out of pocket to have a root canal done. Root canal fixed the pain in the lower tooth. I had to go somewhere OTHER than this place to get it done. February 2021: I make another appointment here to go back in to have a crown put on. They refuse, citing the tooth won't support it. They do a filling on it, and I am told I will be lucky if this tooth lasts 6 months to a year. March 2021: Because I have been avoiding using one side of my mouth for so long for chewing, I develop some pain on one tooth on the other side of my mouth. I call this place back up, explain to them, and am informed I can wait until July for my cleaning. (my insurance allows 2 cleaning per year. This place said my oral health is good, and will only do 1 cleaning per year) I dispute this, citing I am having problems. They said they will need to get "clearance from the Dr. to remove the limit, and will call me." I am never called. April 2021: Fed up, I go look up the best rated Dentist in Olympia. (Out of network, so I am paying out of pocket for this.) I upload all my X-rays and history from Willamette for my new patient intake. Instantly, my new dentist see's multiple issues that Willamette SHOULD have seen and corrected, but either ignored or missed. I need periodontal work, and have for years now. Why didn't Willamette see it? My new Dentist was actually appalled at the condition of my oral health. I am still in need of 2 crowns which Willamette doesn't want to do. I just completed my second of 2 periodontal treatments, and my mouth is already feeling better. All of my issues could have been avoided if they had just done their jobs properly. And now, I have spent over $3000 out of my own pocket on out of network care to have work CORRECTED when it should have been taken care of here. I STILL need 2 crowns for work that they never finished and don't want to. Those are going to end up being paid out of my own pocket as well now. I no longer trust them, and will NEVER go back.

For the second time in two visits I am waiting at my pharmacy for a script I need today for my appointment. The dentist was supposed to call the script last week then yesterday when I was in then this morning. The pharmacist called yesterday and three times today. But willamate could not get organized well enough to get a basic prescription called in so 1 hour 45 minutes later I'm still waiting for meds I need for an appointment in a few hours. This is not the first time this has happened. If possible... go to a different, more organized, office.

I have TMJ pain and have not been able to fully open my jaw since 10/2019. I have fear and anxiety over seeing a dentist so I tried to find other medical doctors to try to help. Only a chiropractor would see me for my pain, and after a few appointments, she told me I needed to contact my dentist. I made an appointment for 3/16/20. As I arrived for this appointment, front counter staff were in the middle of calling patients and cancelling all future appointments due to COVID. I was told my appointment was cancelled and to reach out "when this is all over". I made another appointment for June 18th, 2020. I was seen by Dr. Gill, who tapped on my face and asked if it hurt, then gave me a one week prescription for ibuprofen. I was skeptical, but she's a medical professional, so I gave it a shot. Nothing happened. I called back and asked to be referred to a TMJ specialist. After going over the costs with me and pressing me about whether I really wanted the referral, I explained to the agent that I could not open my jaw, and I didn't really see the alternative. I guessed I would just have to deal with the bill, because I didn't know what else to do. That call was on 7/18/20. I called again a couple weeks ago since I had not received any contact, and was told that they would "send an email" to the TMJ specialist agency to try to get them to contact me to schedule an appointment. I asked if I could try calling the office they were referring me to, and they said no, that won't help, we'll just send them an email. So here it is, 8/26/2020, and I still haven't heard anything. I called Willamette this morning to check on my referral status. They put me on a long hold, then came back and explained that they had sent my referral to UW Oral Medicine, and that they were supposed to be calling me to schedule an appointment. They told me someone from the dentist office would call me back today regarding my referral. When I got off the phone with them, I called UW Oral Medicine and was told that they had just gotten off the phone with my dentist office, that they have NOT RECEIVED MY REFERRAL and that they can schedule something for me once that gets over to them. I'm very disappointed and I'm still in pain. I can't yawn. I can't eat what I want. I wake up with a headache and I'm starting to get ringing in my ears and balance/dizzy spell issues. I've been trying to be patient. I know that COVID is slowing everything down and that most people are doing their best. I know that I put off contacting a dentist until I absolutely had to. But this has been over a month for nothing to have happened, while I was just sitting and "being patient". If I had not followed up repeatedly, I am sure I would have never heard back from them. Willamette is fine if you just need teeth cleanings and cavities filled. I don't think I can recommend them for anything else. I don't trust them at this point, and my fear/anxiety around dentists has only increased. 8/28 update- The day UW got my referral, the very same day, they were able to schedule me an appointment. They were booking into November, but fortunately had a cancelation, so they were able to get me in on 10/8. If willamette had actually sent the referral and followed up with UW to confirm they had received it, or if they had followed up with UW when I called to check a couple weeks later, I could have had an appointment scheduled long ago. Willamette blamed UW for not contacting me to schedule an appointment throughout interactions and only admitted to not getting the referral through after I found out from UW that they had received nothing. I had to call them back to find this out, Willamette never called me back like they promised they would, and I will be shocked if I actually receive a call from "management" as indicated in the reply to this review. At least this experience has taught me to advocate for myself and be more pushy. 9/15 update- Nobody from the "Management Team" has reached out.

Worst dentist ever. They don't care at all. I have had the same filling fall out 3 times in less then six months. Obviously not very good work. And now apparently my Willamette insurance expired less then 2 weeks ago and they are refusing to warranty the filling even though it was just done less then a month ago. There ok with me having a giant hole in my tooth. Maybe if the filling had been done correctly the first time this would not be an issue. Avoid if possible!
